Standing once again in the centre of the room Luke like the day before held eight PaDDs the only minor difference was instead of Chief Ghoc stood next to him it was Master Chief Kazen, the ship's chief of the boat. About to strike up a conversation waiting for the team to arrive he was cut short as the doors to the holodeck opened.

Charlotte wasn't exactly sure what she was getting herself into. She had only just begun talking to Lieutenant Commander Wyatt over the past couple of days. It hadn't been an easy conversation with Amaranai when the older Franklin suggested Charlotte start taking lessons with the commander. Charlotte's opinion was that she needn't learn from anyone since she had not been to a proper school in almost three years. Amaranai's argument that Charlotte would not be able to stay on the Galileo without being of some use was enough for Charlotte to at least start talking with Commander Wyatt.

Charlotte had barely accepted the fact that Commander Wyatt would be teaching her different aspects of starship operations and security when the commander suggested Charlotte participate in an emergency scenario. The young girl protested that she wasn't even a member of the crew but Luke recommended the scenario wasn't designed specifically for officers or crew specifically. Charlotte relented, defeated once again, and asked for the particulars of when and where she needed to be.

Just a few minutes before the appointed time, Charlotte arrived at the holodeck and entered. She saw the commander and another person standing with him. It wasn't like Charlotte knew who it was, though, as she had only been on the ship a short amount of time and was doing her best to keep out of the way.

"Reporting as recommended, commander," she said and stood off to the side to wait for orders.

She had no clue what was going to happen, but the fact that it was taking place inside a holodeck meant that anything could happen. Charlotte hoped that she would be able to survive, or at least help in some way.

Lt. Shizn entered the holodeck to see other officers and crew standing near Cmdr. Wyatt. He walked up and stopped next to one of the crew. It seemed to him that they were still waiting for a few more to arrive.

Allyndra had signed up. She figured that anything to challenge the thought processes was a good idea. She nodded to the rest and made a small smile to Shizen as she took her place.

Tris saw the Commander nod his direction. He responded with a subtle smile and a slight nod of his head in her direction.

Aria Rice walked into the room with a spring in her step, her hair tied back from her face and dark purple streaks in her hair that almost looked as dark as the rest of her hair. A way of getting away with it at times. She was practically grinning as she walked in before stopping when she saw the others. She glanced around, trying to judge the mood before practically slinking over to the far side. She had signed up for this because it sounded interesting and she was feeling adventurous. Hell, it was good for her to learn new things!

Sylver followed seconds later, taking a cautious look around to see who was there. Some familiar faces. Some not. He smiled to himself, seeing some senior people. He was glad he had signed up for this. It felt like the sensible thing to do. And Oliver had his moments of being sensible. It would also help to quickly get into the way of this new ship, the dynamic of it. He gave a nod of greeting, because no one seemed to be talking, so he moved to stand beside the short female Security officer.

Alexion Wylde gave a long sigh as he moved into the room, a deep frown scored into his forehead with his general mood towards training exercises. He'd spent long enough as an Academy Instructor to be very dubious about training exercises in general. His mind briefly went back to the childsplay Academy crew mission they'd done. At least it couldn't be as bad as that.

Scarlet Blake was hot on the doctor's heels, choosing to make her way to the back of the group. Her features were still and calm, making it impossible to tell what she was thinking and feeling. She nodded to Wyatt from the back, her posture rigid and gaze focused.

Kala had signed up to the training as soon as she heard they were happening. The way she gathered was that there was no better way to meet and greet other crew members than a good old' no-win scenario. "Commanders, Lieutenant Commander," She said as she entered standing with the group who appeared to be awaiting instruction.

"Thank you all for coming and thank you for putting your names forward for this training simulation. I will try and keep this short,” He said handing out each of the PaDDs and keeping one for himself. "On the PaDDs you'll see a full brief of what the training serial will be about however to refine the finer points I will give you a short brief.

Starfleet has ordered you away from your scientific survey of a collapsing wormhole due to a communication from a local mixed cultural colony along the Federation and Romulan neutral zone. The communication before cutting out reported of an attack and a possibility of a Chemical, biological or radiological weapon.

Your team arrive in the waverider ahead of the USS Galileo who is in route, however at maximum warp is still 2 hours away and behind them a Hospital ship the USS Nightingale. Your orders are to assess the situation and offer aid to the local medical authorities if possible until Galileo arrives, as well as find out what happened. The colony is small with about 500+ inhabitants with a mixture of races from Human, Romulan and some smaller lesser known species.

It is unclear what the situation currently is and how large of scale the attack was, but Starfleet expects mass casualties.

The simulation will begin with your team having just arrived at the colony after leaving the waverider 1 Km away due to a build-up of Radiological particles in the air, you are currently in EV suits and the first person you meet is a Dr. Lewis Simmons.

React as necessary and of course good luck."

TRAINING START - USS Galileo-A, Emergency Simulation Wyatt-Bravo-One

Lewis looked over his shoulders and though his respirator made it hard to see it was clear the eight newcomers that were approaching adorned Starfleet insignia. Getting up from his patient who unfortunately had already died due to their burns and rushed over to greet them. "Praise the Gods! Where is the rest of the relief?" He said suddenly aware at the lack of personnel. "Surely Starfleet couldn't only send eight people! WHERE’S THE HOSPITAL SHIP!" He demanded.

Around them, the away team could see the destruction wasn't as extensive as they thought however there was still several casualties with a variety of injuries. They mostly seemed to be near one building which was destroyed. Green gaseous vapour was pouring out of a burst see through, cylindrical tube as firefighters attempted to put out fires and plug the hole. Nearby a crowd was forming and appeared to be mostly human wearing masks over their faces as they sporadically shouted, chanting almost as they were waving boards in the air, none of which could be read through the green haze.

Blake's gaze was momentarily drawn to the movement through the gas, taking the scrap of information in before neatly turning her attention fully to Lewis. "I'm Commander Blake, the First Officer of the USS Galileo. I can assure you that both the Galileo and a hospital ship are en route, however we were sent ahead to help."

Charlotte was unsure what she was even doing on a planet. And in an EV suit for that matter. One minute, she was witnessing a collapsing wormhole - okay, that was pretty spectacular - and the next, she was being whisked away to some planet to help. Help? She was a kid. She wasn't even a cadet. And she had to help?

Allyndra hated EV suits. They were not designed for beings with wings. She took in the place and habit was already to pull out her tricorder but before she could take in a scan they were approached by another man in a suit who immediately complained about the lack of people.

Shizn looked down at the PADD again, trying to get a better understanding of what his role would be in this ‘training session’. He was not a Medic, though did have several classes under his belt from the Andorian Officer school in addition to the basic emergency medical training for all Starfleet Cadets, but that was a couple years ago. He tucked the PADD in his pocket; ready, willing, and able to help in any way he could.

"The hospital ship is enroute as is the Galileo. I am Commander Allyndra illm Warraquim, chief medical officer of the later ship. We came by waverider to ascertain what the situation is, so we can inform the arriving ships."

"Well your colleagues had better get here soon!" Lewis said. "We're here researching a new radioactive isotope. The terrorists set off their explosive in the facility where we store the material we get the isotope from. Whatever they used reacted with the radioactive material and amplified the explosive effect. We've got casualties that need triage. I'm a physicist, not a medical doctor! You need to get your ass in gear and help us!" He said as he thrust three PaDDs at random to the strangers before adding, "Make sure to tell me the order you wish to treat them so we can allocate our resources efficiently."

"They are attempting to do so," Allyndra replied and then said, "I need a location where we can reverse isolate those exposed the worse. First thing in radiological posioning is to prevent infection as immune systems are compromised. Is there such a place and also whatever help you can provide."

"FINE!" Lewis said. "As long as you do something! You can use Building A371. It's far enough away and it's shielded. Just...get to work already."

"Commander Blake if you could be so good as to start scans to see what possible isotopes and toxins we might be dealing with. Mister Wylde I will need your help for Triage of the casualties. Let's move everyone." She figured that once the treatment started the rest of the organization would be on Blakes shoulders to get data."

When Charlotte was handed the PADD she stared at the giver and then to the rest of the team with her. She looked at the data on it and was just as confused as she had been to receive it. She wasn't a medic. She had never had any sort of emergency training. She was just a kid that wanted to see a collapsing wormhole.

Charlotte listened to the commander and considered what she was saying. She looked back to the PADD and then to the ground where the civilians were spread out. She picked out the Vulcan - not very hard. And the Romulan - also, not very hard.

"Commander Blake," Charlotte said. "I have this information for you as well."

Charlotte handed the PADD to the commander, in hopes that she wouldn't have to do anything, but stand aside and wait. Despite her own outward attitude and appearances and the fact that she knew this was a holodeck simulation, Charlotte was starting to freak out.

Scarlet nodded, casting a look over the girl with a slight frown. She'd have a few words about her being in the training afterwards; this was too traumatic a simulation for a teenage girl to be exposed to. She cast a look over the two lists, her frown deepening at what she saw. A list of the patients names with a brief outline about them. She made her way to Allyndra, handing them over so she had all the information.

Oliver looked around with almost empty eyes, a shudder working its way through him. He had to remind himself it was a simulation, but the cries and the smoke and wearing the gear...it tugged at memories from a long time ago that he had buried. Buried deep. He shook his head sharply, blinking slowly, before snapping himself back into what was default in situations like this. Just deal with the problem and worry about emotions later.

Aria too looked around, but she was frowning slightly. She looked at Charlotte and wondered why the heck a child was here. And...you know...it was a child. She moved over to her and nudged her. Okay, so the child already was starting to look taller than Aria and she wasn't finished growing. Remained at her side, considering it for a moment before she leant close to whisper to her. "If you need to, stick by me," she whispered. "I usually get the boring assignments of keeping people back, which sounds boring and is boring but right now I will take boring over everything..."

Charlotte was a little surprised when Aria sidled up next to her and felt the nudge from the security officer. She looked at the girl and smiled at the suggestion.

"I might do that," Charlotte said softly. "And thanks."

Charlotte stood off to the side and waited for whatever was going to happen next to happen. This was confusing and though she had voluntarily signed up for this simulation (at her's and Luke's insistence), she still felt she was very unqualified to be standing there.

Tris had ended up so far standing over to the side as the more senior officers and those with medical training took over the situation. If nothing else he could keep an eye out for any additional threats that might pop up. Although lookin*around at the devastation, anything could happen.

Kala couldn't believe her eyes at the destruction. Bodies were laid in the middle of the street covered by black plastic, firefighters covered in grey dust as they fought fires and attempted to stop the ruptured pipe from leaking further. It was a disaster. Kala also tried to observe the crowd that had gathered, they were waving boards in the air shouting but through the smoke and haze she couldn't quite make out the words, though she could see they weren't here to help.

Allyndra scanned over the list. She would have to talk to the rest, but one name stood out along with the record. "I am going to say the youngest with the most potential first. If you agree let's get Caroline Flick. She also has the most knowledge on the particular isotope in case it comes up again. Tris if you do not mind could you please inform the Galileo and Nightingale of the situation."

“Yes Ma’am,” the Andorian responded positively. Tris thought, Finally, something to do, as he turned and took a few steps away from the group to better communicate.

To Be continued...
