Previously, on All Aboard! (Part 1)...

Min blinked as the beam let her go, the slight difference in gravity from the deck plating a bit odd but it was familiar and she waited until the beam released her. She'd not expected so many people to be greeting the arrival, least of all Admiral Saalm. A few faces she recognized, Saalm, Allyndra, Gyce, & Wyatt, the rest new crew she'd no doubt be meeting soon enough.

Allyndra did not know the other two but she could not help but smile when she saw a former shipmate.

And Now, the Continuation...

[ON]

Langdale Wiggins had kept unusually quiet among the assembled crew on the Oceana. He hadn’t been in uniform so he didn’t expect anyone to know who he was. Which had also given him a bit of a chance to gather his first impressions and form some consensus on their personality prior to meeting their new First Officer. At least that was the reason when he’d first entered the transporter room. His hands were far from empty. In one arm he held his small French Bulldog, Ophelia, who had an issue with being placed on the floor among strangers. The other hand was busy having an argument with one of his sons via text on a mini PADD with his thumb. The duffle bag slung around his shoulders was helping to support Ophelia thankfully, otherwise the small pudgy dog would have started getting too heavy to hold. He was so engrossed with his frustrating conversation with his son that he only noticed they’d arrived when the Admiral began to speak.

When the sparkling light blue molecules of transporter reassembly faded away from the positions on the transporter pad, Lirha took sight of the four new arrivals. The first two were...interesting additions, to say the least -- the woman looked to be of some sort of Romulan descent based on her facial features with unorthodox dress, and the other looked to be Vulcan in nature. Both were tall, six-foot and above and had many belongings with them.

Lirha's attention turned to the next arrival who was instantly familiar. Standing about the same height as Lirha but with brown eyes, brown hair and fair skin, the sight of Min Zhao back aboard Galileo brought a small smile to Lirha's lips. It was good to see the ship's former Operations chief again. And yet, something seemed different which didn't take long for her to notice: the lieutenant didn't appear to be pregnant anymore. There was also no child with her, which caused Lirha to privately wonder what had happened.

Finally, the Orion admiral noticed the final person on the pad. Like the other man who had just arrived, this one was tall with brown hair, only a bit lighter-colored. He looked to be Human at first glance, but something about the man's eyes was....intriguing. She couldn't quite discern what color they were, and they appeared to have some sort of optical illusion to make them shift colors.

"Welcome aboard Galileo," Lirha began as she stepped forward to greet the group. "I am Rear Admiral Saalm, commanding officer." She turned and motioned to the other personnel assembled with her to introduce them. "This is Lieutenant Commander Wyatt, my strategic operations officer. Commander Warraquim, chief medical officer and second officer. Lieutenant Gyce, chief of security, and Chief Mitchell, also a member of security. And this is Ensign Mimi and Ensign Alexander, operations officers."

Braxton stepped down first. "Lieutenant Junior Grade Braxton MacKenzie, Chief Science Officer." He gave he appropriate salute and shook hands with all the officers in turn. His eyes were drawn to the one she called Warraquim. He'd never seen a more delicate creature so he eased up on the handshake. He returned to the Admiral. "Permission to come aboard, Sir."

The Orion nodded with her hands clasped professionally behind her back. "Permission granted, Mister Mackenzie. Do you have your transfer orders present?" she asked, waiting for him to produce a PADD with the details of his assignment.

Brax had the PADD ready in his messenger bag and pulled it out handing it to the Admiral. "Yes Ma'am. Her they are."

She took the small and slim device from him then quickly began to browse through the contents. Chief science officer...prior deployments aboard USS Dragon, USS Eden...lecturer at Starfleet Academy..., she mentally noted. The new man seemed to have quite a long list of credentials at first glance. Although...something about his age and rank did not quite match up. A mystery to be solved at a later time, she supposed.

"Thank you, lieutenant. A pleasure to have you on board with us. I am sure our science facilities will be able to accommodate any of your duties," Lirha then said.

"Yes Ma'am...." He kept himself from saying please call me Junior Lieutenant. No sense in pissing off the Admiral first day. He just stepped back to allow for the other to say hi.

Luke looked over the new arrivals smiling politely, all of which were new accept for one he recognised "Its good to see you Lieutenant Min Zhao" his hand out to greet hers before he noticed that her baby bump was no longer there, yet she was alone. Perhaps she chose to have the infant planet side for safety. "I hope you find not much has changed, then again" He joked.

"Change is inevitable Luke," Min remarked, intentionally using his first name. "But I am glad to see a few familiar faces." Shaking his hand, she nodded, glancing at the two operations officers briefly.

"I don't think I have heard anyone speak truer words, its how we embrace change that matters" His eyes flitted over her he smiled once again their shake lingering, "I hope we can catch up I'm sure you have a lot to talk about. Ah who am I kidding you'll hear that from anyone" He let get of the shake.

Splendora had taken about two minutes to just sit there and thank her stars she was in one piece. Then she got up removed her cloak and hood. She sauntered down the steps and stopped in front of the Orion. "Splendora Nightingale, Counselor reporting as ordered." She said softly. She extended her hand to the Orion.

Lirha reached out and gave the woman's hand a strong shake. "Good to have you with us, Miss Nightingale." Something about the lady's name seemed very unorthodox to Lirha. "Do you have your transfer orders?" she then asked, waiting for her to produce a PADD.

She gave a nod hopped back on the transporter pad and searched through her bag that was on top of the two trunks. She hopped back down and presented the PADD. "It's here Amiral," her voice a bit stronger then before.

Fetching the PADD gently from the woman's hand, Lirha proceeded to glance through it as she had previously done with the other, taller arrival just moments before. "Thank you," she said quietly while she reviewed the woman's Academy records, prior postings aboard USS Viking and USS Willow, and graduate thesis work. Her work history was impressive at first glance and the Orion admiral looked up to give her a welcoming smile. "Very good, ensign. It has been quite some time since a new counselor has joined us. I hope you are ready to get to work as soon as possible?" Spirits knew, Galileo was always short on counselors.

Splendora gave a nod and a small smile. "I just need to um..." She turned back gesturing to her mountain of things. "Get all this into my quarters and I can hop into my uniform and put on my doctor glasses and begin with the mind probing. I also brought a whole bunch of tissue boxes and chocolate is a staple in my office. It releases all sort of feel good chemicals."

She shook hands with almost all the others and stopped in front of Gyce. "Pleasure to meet you." She really looked at Gyce. She looked so much like... Splendora averted her eyes.

Noticing the odd exchange between the new counsellor and Gyce he went on to continuing his pleasantries Luke shook the hands of the next person along "It's good to meet you chief. I hope you find the Galileo a great home over the next few years" Luke said addressing the man his eyes look sternly into Braxton's, he still hadn't gotten out of the habit of summing up another person by their handshake and first encounter... Gee I sound like a federation Officer. He thought chuckling silently to himself.

Braxton's handshake was firm with the man. He gave a nod. "Your welcome is appreciated and noted Sir." He said noting that Luke's handshake was as firm as his own.

Mimi simply stood watching everyone greeting the new arrivals from behind the transporter station though she did pay attention to the slightly older human woman who she'd heard had been the ships Chief of Operations and who she guessed was going to be resuming that role.

Once she'd greeted Gyce Splendora looked at Allyndra she recognized her as an Akkadian. She smiled at the woman and proceeded to greet her, "Blessings of the Twins to you Ma'am."

Allyndra was a bit surprised but made a formal curtsy. "May the Twins shine bright upon you," she replied.

As pleasantries were exchanged, Min offered her hand to Ens Alexander. "Lieutenant Zhao. I understand your with the Operations team?"

Ryan smiled and nodded before extending his own hand. "I am sir, Ensign Alexander. It is a pleasure to meet you. The Chief has said some wonderful things about you." He said before releasing her hand.

After greeting the first of her staff, Min went over to Ens Mimi. The young women looked Caitian but not quite, another cat like species perhaps? "Good to meet you Ensign. We'll be working together in Operations."

Mimi smiled "Nice to meet you Lt Zhao." she replied the Z coming out with a slight purred edge to it.

"Call me Min, Ensign. I'm not much for formality amongst my staff." Min remarked, smiling.

"Understood Lieutenant." Mimi said smiling again.

Splendora, with some help cleared the transporter PADD and with a borrowed Grav card moved out and towards her quarters. Crowds drove her nuts. She needed breath space and her pet needed out of his cage. She left the transporter room with Brax following close by her. "Miss..." he said.

The transporter console beeped as a message was routed there from the bridge. "Message from the Wolff Admiral, two more to come onboard, they are in position on the transporter."

The rear admiral turned back towards the transporter console and gave the Nekomi woman a curt nod of acknowledgement. "Bring them aboard, ensign." It was certainly shaping up to be a busy afternoon for personnel processing. Lirha hoped Galileo's small Operations department wouldn't be too overwhelmed with all the new arrivals.

"Clear the pad please." Mimi said as the new arrivals baggage was mostly still on the pad. she waited a few seconds for them to clear it them activated the transporter

Rahl nodded to the transporter chief that he was ready. He knew his long term storage would be transported over in one of the bays for him to pick up. He had his small carry bag that he always took with him. His thoughts wandered for a moment as to the possibilities of speeding up the process of the transporters. The current state seemingly took longer than should be necessary.

His thoughts were interrupted however as he suddenly or so it seemed found himself on the transporter pad on the Galileo. He looked around at all the people already there. He knew that there were others that had transported over from the Wolff but there seemed to be more than that here. He looked for anyone that was seemingly doing processing or a 'check in' for the new arrivals.

Taking sight of the newest person to materialize on the transporter pad, Lirha walked up to the edge of the steps and nodded in acknowledgement at the newest arrival. "Welcome aboard Galileo, lieutenant," she said, noting the rank pips present on the blue-collared man's uniform before reaching up to push a stray lock of dark hair back behind her green cheek. "I am Rear Admiral Saalm, commanding officer. Do you have your transfer orders present?"

Rahl nodded "Yes admiral." Opening his small carry on bag pulling out the PADD with his orders on it. He handed it to the PADD to the admiral. He looked around for a moment while the orders were being looked over. It seemed it was a busy place. That was at times both good and bad for a researcher like him. He just hoped it wasn't this busy with people in the labs. Or he might have to start barring anyone that wasn't apart of the projects going on.

At first, Lirha had skimmed over the basic biographical data at the top of his personnel file. Such information wasn't as pertinent to her upon first glance as the man's background and service record, but then she noticed several notable dates going as far back as the mid 2200s. Then she saw the record of his rescue from USS Lakul by the Enterprise-B in 2293. It was then that she realized he was not only much older than he looked, but also an El-Aurian who had most likely experienced several lifetimes-worth of events and history. She looked back up and him with a small smile and offered her green hand for him to shake in customary Earth fashion. "I did not ever think I would meet someone from the past," she half-joked.

Rahl chuckled. "Ah, but is it truly the past admiral. Or is it merely bookmarks along the path of time? That if we but had the knowledge could simply turn back to those bookmarks. To relive through that period and interact with it as never before?" He grinned and took her hand in a firm shake.

"That is but one of the very many questions and subjects of research I'm sure I will be investigating in my tenure here. I will do my utmost to try not to bore the crew with regailing tales of times long ago. Or so it would seem to them." He winked at her and chuckled softly to himself.

"Very good, then," she replied. "You have certainly come to an excellent research platform. As long as you do not use our labs to bring Galileo through temporal ruptures, I believe we can accommodate you." Despite her pleasant demeanor, Lirha was certainly not joking. Time travel was not in the list of things she'd signed up for in Starfleet. "It appears all of your affairs are in order," she added, offering his PADD back to him before motioning towards her group of assembled crew. "If you like, you may meet some of senior and junior officers next to the console. We have two from Operations who can assist you in getting settled."

Rahl nodded to her. "Yes admiral, I'll get myself sorted and get to work. Thank you." He snapped to attention for a moment before making his way.
