Mission Summary
USS Galileo's thirty-day assignment at Celes III is now complete. Despite several initial hiccups during the first week, the colonists managed to establish a fledgling infrastructure on the volatile world thanks to the assistance of Galileo's science technicians and engineering specialists. With all of the Nova-class' backup provisions and equipment transferred to the colony for future use, the vessel departs Celes III on a standard resupply mission at Starbase 234.
While in transit to their destination, Galileo's advanced sensor arrays detect a low-frequency distress transmission which appears to be emanating from the nearby Paulson Nebula. The contents of the signal are unintelligible due to the nebula's dense magnesium and chromoium composition, forcing Galileo to alter course and investigate. As the starship closes in on the source of the transmission, the IFF transponder is discovered to be that of SS Recluse -- a mid-24th century dilithium hauler presumed lost on assignment over 40 years prior.
Recluse's service record and crew are unremarkable. However, its reappearance within the densest and hazardous Beta Quadrant nebula makes the search and rescue operation difficult. USS Galileo must find and locate the crew of the freighter while attempting to navigate a treacherous celestial phenomenon.
