Mission: Episode 12 - Recluse
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 7, Callisto Bar
Timeline: MD -03 - 0110 hrs

Previously, on Parks and Recreation (Part 2)...

Allyndra talked for a moment to the person that was in charge of the musical portion of the entertainment and he nodded. A few moments he managed to swage the current selection into a waltz. Allyndra was quite familiar with that, for it was not much different then Akkadian dances and she returned and asked, "Are you familiar with this style?"

"Very." He said smiling.

"Then let us show them how it is done." As she finished that she made that deep formal curtsy that all females on Akkadia learned from a very early age. She noted Eelim's bow and then rose and took to his arms.

Eelim placed his hand around her waist and positioned their clasped hands for the waltz. "Ready?"

"Ready," she moved the the balls of her feet as if ready to water dance but it was the same with Akkadian dances.

And Now, the Continuation...

[ON]

The music started and Eelim began to spin her around. The classes and techniques flowing back into him as if he were born for this dance. He grinned. "I miss ballroom dancing. It's been a long time since the competitions."

Allyndra went easily, Eelim had subtle pressure to guide which way they were going to go. It reminded her much of how Gerrin had been so light on his feet. Had the gods finally smiled on her again. She hoped so, but there was still that nagging voice that said, "Be careful." She scolded it in her mind saying, "If I was careful I would never have gotten where I am now."
The movement and swirl made cascading rainbows down the fabric of her dress.

"I have not done this since.......well since nearly forever it seems. Water dancing is fun, but with a partner it is almost like flying. You are quite good Eelim."

Eelim smiled. He released her waist gave her an easy gentle twirl and brought her back into his arms. "I was on the Academy ballroom dancing team. Dancing always made me feel free, less...clunky, almost like flying," he said in echo of her thoughts.

He smiled at her and held her gaze. "You are so beautiful...It's not the dress," he said when he noted that she was looking at it. "It's your soul and heart. You are ...I've been waiting for someone like you all my life Allyndra." He brought her closer to him and bent giving her a quick kiss on the lips.

Allyndra was cautious, even though she had been lonely for a very long time, there was so much that still lay before her and she did not want to hurt another. The words were lovely and she wished she could just say the same. How would her world react? He may want children which given the vast physiological and genetic differences was going to be impossible. So many thoughts went through her head. Sometime they would really have to talk and see, until then tread lightly and let her hearts not pull her into the maelstrom of her longing. "Ah Eelim, you are sweet, come let's just enjoy the the dance." Twins she wanted to say so much more but not here, not now.

Eelim smiled. He found himself feeling as if he were floating on air. "I am enjoying the dance Allyndra. I have the most beautiful woman in the galaxy on my arm and I'm alive to hold her. What more could I ask. It's like the Bajoran Gods have granted me a taste of paradise." He was grinning ear to ear.

"Damqim and Alu'u ah m'ahloia pu'ali," Allyndra responded. "The twins Damqim and Alu'u perhaps have blessed." She translated. It was very rare though he would not know it, for Akkadians to refer to the Twins by name. "May it always be so for us."

Eelim smiled. "I hope so, Princess." He held her a bit closer. There was so much to say, to talk about, there was something she didn't know about him. He was not capable of giving her children, would she want him if she found out? He wondered. He tried to shake that from his mind. He would enjoy being with her and if she rejected him because of his inability to have kids then he'd deal with it at that point although he knew he'd be shattered. "I love being with you Allyndra, I hope you know that."

"And I have been far too lonely as well, now let us just enjoy the moment and the dance while it may last. Yesterday is history, tommorrow and mystery, today is a gift, that is why we call it present."

Eelim smiled, "Trust me Allyndra. I enjoy every minute with you." He bent down and kissed her cheek.

Dru's mind screamed at her to turn and run but the gentle but firm hand at the center of her back told her that she wasn't allowed to go anywhere but where he directed. He'd said this was for her own good...that she needed to mingle and get used to life onboard the ship again after...after all that had happened. Even the thought of what had occurred had tears raising to the woman's eyes as she struggled to find her voice. "I can't do this...please..."

Eric's hand moved from the counsellors back as he used the same hand to grasp Deu's arm and bring her to a temporary stop. "You only think that you can't but you know that you can...what would you be telling anyone else in your position? To get back on the horse and hold their head up high and remind the world that they still lived!" His voice may have been abit more forceful than perhaps intended but the nurse wasn't moving on this...he knew that she needed this.

Dru felt the hitch in her breath as she struggled to swallow back the tears. She wanted to be in sickbay...needed to be in sickbay. What if Markum woke and she wasn't there? What if inside his head he was lonely and scared without anyone to just sit and talk with him?

Dru didn't need to say any words, Eric saw right through the facade he'd come to know over the last few weeks. "Get out of there right now...remember who you are. Lieutenant Junior Grade Drusilla McCarthy, member of the counseling staff of the USS Galileo. Beyond anything else you have a duty to be here today...to show the crew that you are still here for them. If anything else matters...they are the people who need to...."

Dru said nothing else, only closing her eyes and pulling her arm away. His words hurt but they hurt for the right reason...because he was right. If she didn't fulfill her job they would send her away...away from Markum...away from her home....She needed to do this, not for her or for them...for Markum and for nobody else.

Eric stood as the woman pulled away and moved between the sliding doors. He pushed his fingers through his hair as her watched her disappear from sight...so fragile in herself. He wasn't a counselor...he mended the physical wounds, not the mental but you'd have had to have been a blind man to see how damaged the woman was.

Was this a good or a bad thing?

Pushing himself to follow in her wake, Eric guessed that he was about to find out

Ryan was exhausted. He had worked late, opting to finish a non critical down equipment report rather than making it an early night. Fortunately for Ryan, he hadn't seen his roommate lately, so he had the room to himself. He sighed at the Adimrals call, knowing that he should attend, if anything just to make face. He shrugged as he downed a quick cup of coffee, choosing a pair of Khakis and a long sleeved collared shirt rolled up to the elbows.

He quickly made his way to the Lounge, promising himself that there would be no drinking tonight, sometime he felt that he drank to much. Upon entering the lounge he suddenly felt under dressed. He took a deep breath and went to mingle.

With the flat of her hand pressed against the center of her lover's back; Jesra gently urged Lirha to enter the bar. Greeted by the ebb and flow of music designed to allow conversation while also encouraging bodies to move to the subtial beat; the woman couldn't help the subtle smile that spread across her lips. "Well my dear...your party arranging skills have once again hit the mark."

The Orion's skin was still flushed from their escapades several minutes earlier. Her normally-olive tone was now littered with deep forest green hues at the top of her chest and neck, and her hair was a bit disheveled in a few subtle places. Nevertheless, she felt amazing and was happy to be down in the bar. The atmosphere, music, and present company were already a pleasant sight. "I did not think it would be this...busy," she commented back to Jesra.

"You know very well that everyone loves the excuse to let their hair down and relax a little before thrown back into the swarm of things." Jesra allowed her hand to move the caress her lover's hip before pressing a soft kiss to the side of her head. "Go mingle my dear...show the crowd that you have give as good as the rest."

And mingle she would. Lirha gave Jesra a pat on her lower back before diving into the thick crown of people to wade her way through and socialize.

Miraj slurped down the rest of her first cocktail and turned round to order a second when she saw Mimi leaning on the bar further down. their conversation about the lost planet of Mimis sprang to mind. She grabbed Brax's wrist, "I need you to meet someone."

Braxton really didn't get much chance to say anything but allowed Miraj to pull him along.

She towed him over to the feline girl. "Hey mimi! Have you met Brax?"

Mimi looked up from her food that she was just polishing off as Miraj approached. "Hi Miraj." she said then looked at the really tall man beside her. "No I haven't"

Braxton smile. "I'm Braxton MacKenzie, Science department head." He held out a hand to Mimi.

"Hi, nice to meet you." Mimi took Braxtons hand and shook it.

"Braxton would know about analyzing photographs for visual data." Miraj said with a meaningful inflection to her voice. She flared her orbital arches - the closest she could get to raising her eyebrows. "You know, like we talked about."

Mimi's ears gradully tipped forward betraying her interest in what Miraj had said "Really?"

Braxton smiled. "I'd be happy to help in any way that I can."

"Well." Mimi started to explain. "I have some pictures my mother took of our original homeworld but I don't know where the homeworld is. There are stars in one of the picture and Miraj thinks you might be able to see if you know any of the......... patterns."

Braxton smiled. "Absolutely I will make every attempt to assist. If you come by my office tomorrow I can take a copy of the photos and get started."

Splendora watched as Braxton was lead away by Miraj and then picked up her Vulcan Death Grip drink and headed to the windows off to the side. She didn't feel too much like socializing yet. Her thoughts were on the conversation she had with Antony and the request Aiden and he made of her.

She made her way to the bar. "May I order food here please?" She asked.

"Of course," Ethan assured her, waving back to the kitchen. "I can replicate whatever you want, or we have some items 'on tap' so to say." He pulled out a small note padd to jot down her request.

"Great. I'll have an order of root vegetable crisps, a burger with the bun being garlic and herb bread, very well done, fries and for dessert a slice of chocolate cake, and Liana." It was a Betazoid dish that was a breed between fudge and chocolate, a dessert to die for. "All to go please as fast as you can."

He read through it mentally, double checking that he had it right, and then nodded. "Right up, Ma'am." Leaving Wales to man the ship once again, Ethan retreated to the kitchen and began putting together a combination of replicated and prepped foods before returning with the lot in an easy to carry package.

She waited impatient to leave the bar. She wanted to spend some time at the observation lounge which was not far from the bar. She'd maybe pop in later. She just needed a bit of alone time.

Deck 2 - Min's quarters

Min stood in her quarters looking herself over for the umpteenth time, making sure everything looked good. She was dressed in a muted green sundress, spaghetti straps holding the dress up, a green cross band hiding what remained of her tummy from her last pregnancy. Her draped on her shoulder naturally, two small pearl earrings in her ears and a gold necklace draped between the swell of her cleavage. To anyone who didn't know her story, the past months worth of heart ache, she wanted to appear like another young single officer assigned to the Galileo.

She made sure her wedding band was sitting on the table and not her hand as tonight was for her and her alone. She was going to have a good time, to put aside the pain and enjoy the evening, maybe even find a fellow crew-mate to grace her bed for the evening. That probably won't happen, she mused but for a chance to feel alive again, and to spite her ex for running away like a coward, she wouldn't turn an offer down.

One final adjustment to the dress and she was ready.
