Sitting in her chair at the head of the large briefing table, Lirha wrapped her green fingers around her mug and took a long sip of her warm hot chocolate. The senior staff debriefing had concluded almost fifteen minutes ago, and now she patiently waited for her junior officers to arrive in order to debrief them as well. There had been several significant developments throughout the sector recently, and the captain wanted to keep her crew informed to the best of her ability.

Holliday was yet to move since the senior staff had left, instead he had simply flicked through a few more pages of their damage reports, waiting for the first of the junior officers to arrive so that they could get down to business.

Mor'an breezed through the door of the lounge and greeted her superiors with a hand gesture before taking her seat. She was sore and battered, but she was glad to be alive and not bleeding.

From the open doorway on the opposite end of the Observation Lounge, Andreus Kohl walked in slowly. He hesitated, came to a stop, as the doors closed behind him. It wasn't the sight of Vega Colony through the viewports that caught his attention. Rather, it was the Captain. There hadn't been an opportunity for Kohl to meet Commander Saalm when he had transferred aboard from Starbase 152. He never even laid eyes on the woman until the away mission to rescue her from the Klingons who had tortured her. Seeing her here now, comfortable and calm, it was like meeting an entirely different person. Kohl moved into the room and took a seat close to Saalm.

Aria looked around as she took a deeper breath, her eyes dark as she took it all in. She smiled to Saalm before moving to sit down, stretching her legs out with a soft moan. She felt like having a bath and then curl up under a blanket for about a thousand years. Or partying. More on the partying side.

Scarlet followed shortly after. She still felt a little unsteady after her fall, and her skin was pale, but she knew many others were in the same situation. Not to mention the Captain, with what she had been through. She swallowed as she took her seat, pushing the images from her mind that sprung from that line of thinking.

Kohl nodded to Scarlet as she sat down and raised a hand in a slight wave. He folded his hands in his lap and shifted his weight in his chair. Turning his head to Aria, he offered her a quick grin.

"Good morning everyone." Holliday began as he saw the rest of his crew finally form up around the table.

"As you are all aware..we survived. Just. Project Sienna and all associated materials and crew have been transferred off of the Galileo for immediate transfer to a more secure facility in the Sol system whilst we are left to repair and reload as necessary."

Holliday stood up from his chair and activated the main screen behind him, just as Saalm had done only a short while previously with the senior staff, and filtered through the options to the current tactical situation.

"Of course the Klingons have already dismissed D'Grath and his followers as renegade operatives, and are saying that the High Council did not sanction their actions at Starbase 152....I have my own thoughts on the matter, but the official line is that it was simply an accident...a rogue party acting without authorisation."

Scarlet watched her hands with a frown, having to fight the urge to roll her eyes. What a surprise. The High Council knew nothing about it. She sighed softly as she sat back. They'd get away with it. She turned her head to watch the viewport. The Klingons had spilt a lot of their blood.

Kohl was inclined to breathe easier from where he was sitting. Regardless of the subterfuge, regardless of who knew what and when, Kohl was in no hurry to serve his career through wartime. If the Klingons wanted to keep the peace, that was all the better for Kohl. In his Academy days, he couldn't wait to graduate and serve the Dominion War effort. For now... for him... peace-time was excitement enough.

Lirha stifled a yawn then slowly got to her feet and stood next to John. He had done a good job of summarizing the details of their previous mission, and she didn't have much to add to the conversation. A quick check of junior officers revealed that they too didn't seem to have many questions, and were content to simply absorb the information they were being given.

"For now, tensions remain high between the Empire and the Federation." she added. "Sensor net readings along the Neutral Zone suggest a buildup in Klingon activity and mobilization, and we have responded by deploying several fleets towards the border. Hopefully the situation won't escalate, but there are no guarantees." she explained, then continued to more relevant matters after a brief pause.

"In light of Galileo's current situation and the estimated repair times, Starfleet Command has granted us a ten day shore leave beginning the day after tomorrow. You are all free to depart from Vega if you like, but please make sure to notify Lieutenant Commander Holliday if you plan to be gone for an extended period. I will be staying here on the colony to supervise the rest of our repairs, and will be available should anyone require my presence for any matters. Go have a nice shower and get some rest, I'll be doing the same shortly. If there are no further questions, you're all dismissed. And good work, I'm very proud of all of you."

Kohl nodded at the Captain's kind words to all of them, and he replied, "Thank you, sir." Kohl waited for any parting words from the command staff, and slowly turned his attention over to the other junior officers. He had been working out of Vega Colony's Central Hospital for the past couple of days, and he had missed his friends, like Aria and Scarlet, in his commute back and forth. It had surprised him how much he missed them. Kohl rolled his chair back away from the conference table, but he took his time in standing up and leaving.

Lirha watched as the crew members in front of her departed. With a long final swig, she finished her morning drink and set the cup back down on the table. It had already been an eventful few hours she'd been awake, and she was happy to get through the second and final staff briefing of the day. Letting a yawn escape her lips, she turned to John as she rubbed the back of her neck. "I don't know about you, commander, but I'm going back to sleep. Please don't wake me unless it's urgent." she said as she slowly headed for the door.
