ON:

Aria smiled warmly as she leant against the bar, knocking the last of her drink back. It wasn't quite the party party atmosphere yet, but it was still early. Early drinks, early everything. She smiled as she reached out, pulling Gabriel Stark close to hug. "Mm! I needed this! Drinks and general happiness with no tribbles whatsoever..." she winked at Mormont, giggling as she kissed Gabriel's cheek.

Amon chuckled warmly as he watched them, sipping his beer. This wasn't his scene as much as Aria and Gabriel's, but it meant he could be close to Gabriel. And in his book, it was a plus. "I'm happy not to check the bed for tribbles. Or wake up with them over my face."

"Ew! Face tribble..." Aria rolled her eyes, smiling as she sat back. "Saying that, I found some in my underwear drawer..."

"Sure they were tribbles?" Gabriel teased with shining eyes, his arm easily wrapped around the tiny waist of his best mate. He winked to Mormont, finishing his drink easily before sliding it over the bar. "Another please!" he called to the bartender, smiling sweetly to her.

"Or were you sitting on his face?" Aria teased, looking around with interest.

A Trill had entered the bar a minute ago, in uniform with a blue collar, and had spent some time looking around at the patrons. Though it wasn't busy yet, it was a lot more noisy than he was used to and the man's shoulders hunched involuntarily. After a moment he spied Aria and slipped through the crowd to get to the bar.

Offering a smile and a nod for the men she was with, he tried to make his normally quiet voice clear as even if the place wasn't busy it was louder than some quiet laboratory, "Hiya. You uh...had mentioned something about randomness? That is, if I'm not intruding on you all?"

Aria grinned and smiled, moving to gently take him by the arm. "No! Not at all...Xanth! I never introduced myself, because clearly I am a really rude schmoo! I am Aria Rice....and this..." she gestured to Gabriel and Amon. "Well, this I Gabriel Stark and Amon Mormont. Peeps, this is Ensign Xanth, he does something really intelligent..." she smiled, looking up at the Trill. "Sciency!"

"Nice to meet...well everyone!" he replied and offered his free hand to shake to the two gentlemen as Aria had possession of his other. "Astrophysics. Ensign Rice said you are Security?" He went along willingly enough, and kept telling himself to breathe. Gyce really knew what she was talking about.

"We are," Amon said, smiling welcoming to the young Trill. He motioned to the bar, tilting his head. "Let us get you a drink. We don't use ranks right now...Aria's Aria, I am Amon and the beautiful Gabriel is just that..."

Beautiful indeed! All three of them were, each in their own way, and Cyrin could feel a flush rising in his cheeks, "A drink, yes! S-sounds g-good." He hoped that went unnoticed and looked at Gabriel curiously, "What would you recommend?"

"Well that depends," Gabriel gave a small, almost sly smile as he leant back comfortably against the bar, hooking his arms up onto it as he crossed his legs down at the ankles. "On whether you like it sweet or spicy..." he said with an innocent smile.

"Why not both?" Cyrin replied, trying to sound bold around all the security officers. "And I'll buy a round for everyone." The guy was completely out of his element here but had seen enough holovids to know that it was always nice to buy new friends a drink.

"Oh, we're getting you the first one, as a welcome to the Gally thing," Aria said and smiled, her eyes shining. "Because you'll end up loving it. I promise! It's a brainy ship so you will fit right in!" she smiled as she waved the bartender over again. "Can we do shots, please? Just one each, something sweet and spicy for Xanth here."

Gabriel laughed warmly, nodding as he motioned to the tender to get the shots in. Four each, in different colours....of course! "Okay, okay...." he lined up four in front of each of them. "So, we all do a shot at the same time, and we each get to make a toast for a shot round. Okay, Aria-sexy-Rice....you're up first, what do we drink to on our first shot?"

"Oh!" Aria looked over at Cyrin and then back at Gabriel. She pointed at one, arching an eyebrow. "Always start with the weird blue if you ask me! Come on, boys, let's put some hair on your chests. I want to drink to...the Galileo!"

"To the Galileo!" Cyrin agreed, lifted his shot glass with the others and tossed it back. Within moments, the ensign was coughing as he struggled to breathe and his face had turned bright red. It had been a very long time, and apparently this place served real alcohol.

Gabriel laughed warmly at the reaction, sighing with relief at the warmth and burn it brought to him, making him feel alive and real. "Go on Cyrin, your toast next..."

Once he'd regained his ability to speak, the Trill waived at the bartender to come give them all a refill, "Okay, um...to new friends and new experiences then." Cyrin saluted all three of them with his shot glass, downed it in one go, and started coughing yet again so hard he nearly missed the counter when he was trying to put the glass back down. A pleasant warmth had begun in his stomach.

Aria knocked her drink back, moaning as she closed her eyes. "Wow, that burns!" she laughed, her eyes shining as she opened them again, perhaps a bit wet from the burn of the alcohol.

Gabriel took his easily, betraying how much he drank on the quiet. He laughed warmly at the reactions, slapping both of their backs in the guise of helping, even if it was rather enthusiastic. Pulling up the next shot in the line, he smiled, considering for a moment. "To...expanding horizons," he said softly, lifting the small glass to them before drinking it back.

Mormont chuckled as he watched them, his eyes going to Gabriel. "In oh so many ways..." he said and knocked the drink back, chuckling softly.

Cyrin had recovered enough that he was able to join in on the third shot, and by the time he lowered his glass he could feel a warmth rising up in his cheeks as well that wasn't from embarrassment. In fact, he was feeling pretty good right then. He started smiling. "Guess that means one more to go!" he beamed at Mormont.

Mormont chuckled, his eyes warm as he watched Cyrin. A small laugh finally escaped as he took the last shot. "Okay, okay...to beautiful people on a beautiful night out! May it be the start to a beautiful friendship!"

Gabriel grinned warmly, clinking his glass to each companion's before knocking it back with a sigh. "Perfect."

Mormont grinned, nodding as he knocked the drink back. "That one had chilli in it..." he said, chuckling as he cleared his throat. "Interesting."

Aria moaned, nodding as she moved to wrap an arm around Cyrin's shoulder. "I like a bit of a kick. What about you?" she winked, watching the man with easy warmth.

Cyrin was nodding vigorously as Aria came his way, cheeks flushed, eyes bright and shining. "That was tasty," he admitted. Them as if just realizing it for the first time, he grinned broadly at her, then at the other two men, "I'm glad I came! This is fun." His head was swimming, probably just all the excitement he figured, but in a pleasant, swirly sort of way. "Now can I buy you all a drink?"

Gabriel laughed warmly, slapping the man on the back with a quick hand. "Won't turn that down! One more drink, and then you won't be able to escape from dancing..."

Dancing? There was going to be dancing? Cyrin blushed a deep red as he stepped up to the counter and waved the bartender over, and he couldn't meet Gabriel's eyes. Or anyone else for that matter. When it was his turn to order, he stumbled over the first drink that came to mind, something one of his more boisterous instructors at the Academy had joked about, "F-f-four R-randy Y-y-y-yeomans, please." The bartender laughed at him, but soon enough there were four rocks glasses full of bright pink and gold alcohol that the Trill passed around, still red in the face.

Mormont grinned as he looked at Cyrin and then the others. "I bet all yeomen are randy," he said teasingly before slapping Gabriel's backside.

Gabriel jumped with it, but laughed warmly, leaning comfortably against him as he took the glass. "Pretty as a fresh recruit. What to this time, Cyrin? The last toast for the time being, so better make it good..." he teased.

"To alcohol!" Cyrin replied, almost in a shout, his face flushed from drink and happiness. His eyes had grown large and shiny, his smile broad, and his movements were starting to get a touch awkward. With how quickly he'd drank, and given that he'd never consumed this much alcohol before in his life, Cyrin probably should have called it quits a while ago, but he downed the deceptively cloying looking drink in one go before anyone might stop him. "Did somebody talk about dancing?" he looked around the group with a grin. Suddenly the idea didn't seem as daunting as it had before.

Aria's eyes lit up and she nodded, her eyes shining. "Oh yes I did!" she said and took Cyrin's hands. "Come here...come along..." she urged, leading him to the dancefloor. The bartender must have noticed the move, because the music was turned up a bit. Aria grinned and wrapped her arms around Cyrin, moving closer. "Dance with me, pretty boy..."

"Poor sod!" Amon grinned as he watched Cyrin being dragged onto the dance floor by Aria. He shook his head, looking at Gabriel before offering his hand to him. "Want to dance with me, Gabriel?" he offered the other man.

Gabriel glanced across to Amon, a playful glint in his eye as he made a play of having to think about it, his lips pressing together. "Oh all right, you twisted my arm," he gave a theatrical sigh before taking Amon's hand and pulling him eagerly to the floor. He pressed his body to his, wrapping his arms around the back of his neck as he moved, enjoying the closeness.

Mormont smiled warmly, wrapping his arms around him as well. "You look so sexy," he whispered, playfully, his eyes shining with the alcohol and warmth of being so close to Gabriel.

Aria giggled, shaking her head as she glanced at Gabriel and Amon before looking over at Cyrin, who she was pressed close to as she danced. "Mmm...you have good moves.."

Cyrin had his arms around Aria, a big smile on his face, and did his best to move them to the rhythm of the music. Either something he drank was helping, or maybe he had some natural coordination, but the Trill didn't step on her toes or do too bad. On an impulse, he took her by a hand and spun her away from him, then pulled her back in with a laugh, "Wow! Do you do this often?"

"Whenever I can!" Aria admitted, laughing as she moved with him. She let him lead, her eyes playful as she moved her leg up his. "I love dancing..."

That certainly provoked a blush from the scientist, though his face was already flushed from the drink. The song changed to one that was popular on subspace radio broadcasts recently by a famous Risian singer, and Cyrin started to sing along as he changed the pace of their dance to something a little more fast paced. It seemed to fit with his whirling head, though with his quavering voice he didn't do the song justice in the least.

Aria watched him with warmth, letting him sing...hey, it was good fun and he could sort of hold a tune. She joined in at the last, unable to stop herself as the beat picked up into a faster dance. "Come on everyone! More drink!"
