USS Galileo - Transporter Room 1

"Beta team, proceed." Lirha instructed after the first rescue team had just dematerialized on the transporter pad and beamed over to the Borg cube. She stepped to the side to allow all of the team members to take their positions, then gave them all one final nod. "Good luck. I will see you all soon."

Quinn stepped onto the transporter pad and then looked at Lirha. "I won't be coming back without my family, SKipper...and I will be coming back so don't get too excited about replacing me." he said as he gave a grin towards the CO.

Nenokah followed Quinn onto the transporter pad, eager to get on board the Cube so that they could complete their mission as soon as possible.

Alexion joined them, a frown on his somewhat stern features. He had hoped he would never cross the Borg again.

Alex stepped up to the transporter pad and took a spot by the Master Chief. He had taken some extra time to make sure he had everything both he and Ezra knew he would need. He had a backpack on with enough random engineering tools to strip a shuttle if he needed, and one of the few souvenirs he had managed to get a hold of from Ezra's time, her custom Phaser rifle.

Amynta frowned as she walked in, knowing she was one of the later arrivals. Tough. She had gotten herself well equipped with the projectile weapons. Sometimes, you had to trust bullets. She'd love to see the Borg try and adapt to it.

Willis looked at Quinn and nodded. Words were not needed between the two men. He then began the transport sequence, sending them into possible doom.

Borg Cube - Subjunction 3, Grid 4-2, Maturation Chambers

Maturation chambers lined the walls as far as the eye could see, embryos and children from a dozen species each kept in their own specific atmospheric conditions so as to breed the perfect drone. Even the smallest and most immature of these infants already bore the mark of their Drone future - an optical implant here, a cerebral implant there, others simply suspended in a mass of nanoprobes, forming new implants at an incredible rate whilst increasing their cellular growth to accelerate their ageing.

Drones here were mostly Medical - their larger cybernetic arms equipped with a plethora of medical instruments to as to attend to their charges - the closest thing the Borg had to a nanny or midwife - although similar to a factory than a hospital.

Quinn's grip tightened around the handle of his weapon as he clicked the safety off with his thumb. "Orders sir?"

Markos frowned and looked around, taking it all in. She met Quinn's eyes briefly before looking around. "We are here to get Tarishiana Barel and her offspring back. Any children you see that you think we can get with us and not die whilst doing it, secure them." She looked over at Wylde, meeting his eyes. "You will have to make that call, Doctor. You'll know what we can reverse and what we can't..." she made a point of meeting everyone's eyes, briefly, before looking ahead. "Also, let's try and get some intel while we are here. Would be silly to let such an occasion pass."

Quinn looked at Markos, then at everyone else as he chambered a round in his shotgun. "I know the rank structure, so with all due respect to you sir, Tarishiana and I are bonded and that baby of hers is also mine. If it gets bad in here, really bad and we get overwhelmed, I urge you get out with as many of the captives that you can, but I am not leaving this ship with out my child, or its mother." He wrapped the weapons sling around his wrist of his free hand. "So sir." he said to Markos. "Let's roll."

Alexion held his hand up to stop them before they could move into the large room. "Suggestion," he said on a hushed voice. "We use some of our hypos to take out the couple of Drones working on the children in there. It's a risk, and we'll have to move quickly afterwards, but if we can take them down, we'll be free to search this place properly because the children are dormant here. If they remain on their feet, it's going to be impossible to search the chambers without detection."

Amynta frowned as she looked at Quinn, letting out a breath of annoyance. "If I had known that, I would never have permitted you on my away team," she said bluntly. She then looked at Wylde, studying the man closely. "I agree with your plan. It'll help if nothing else."

Alexion gave a swift not, making sure everyone had hypos before starting to move forward. He let out a long, shaking breath to steady himself. Cloak and dagger with the Borg. This had been a very strange week.

Moving forward, Alexion kept low even as he crept toward one of the drones. He tried to keep the Borg's back at his target, changing direction to always keep it between them, cloak or not. He moved softly into position, straightening up his full height, lifting the hypo ready, his two hearts racing in tandem at the tense situation, but he held out. They'd have to take them out more or less at the same time or they'd notice each other dropping.

Nenokah followed Alexion in to the chamber, silent as a shadow. Slinking along the wall, she kept her gaze on the drone ahead of her. Glancing to the other side of the chamber she saw Alex poised, ready to plunge the hypo into the back of the drone. As much as she wanted to incapacitate the drone she knew she had to wait until everyone was ready. Distracted by her thoughts, Nenokah almost missed the drone turning to look at a panel on the wall. Dropping into the shadows, Nenokah held her breath until the drone was satisfied by what it saw and turned its back again. Standing, Nenokah raised the hypo, ready to strike.

Amynta moved carefully, spotting a drone that was clearly going through some sort of check on the feeding system. She moved carefully into position, the hypo ready as she narrowed her eyes.

Alexion glanced in the direction of the others, seeing them lined up before giving a kill signal with his hand, pressing his hypo to 'his' drone and knowing the others would at the same time. He let out a breath of relief as the drones dropped to the floor at the same time. At least the stuff worked. That was always a good sign.

2 of 8 wandered. It wasn't needlessly but it wasn't in haste. The drone she had become didn't care about the movement in the room. Her objective was to care for the systems and the specimens until they were mature. Turning back towards the console the once Betazoid continued with her duties.

Quinn passed a corridor and thought he saw something from the corner of his eyes. He did. HE held a couple fingers in the air and pointed down the corridor then mouthed to the closet crew member. "Got one."

Alexion looked with a frown, rummaging to get another hypo out of his medbag. He shifted forward, silent, low and balanced. He drifted around 2 of 8, shifting so he was always at the drone's back. With it being the last functional drone in the maturation chamber, he wasted no time in pressing the hypo to its neck with a swift, single movement, letting it drop heavily to the ground.

Scanning the room, Alexion frowned as he looked down at the drone he'd just dropped. "It's a match," he said quietly, kneeling to look. "The scan shows this is Barel...without her child inside of her."
