Mission: Episode 18 - Cold Station 31
Location: USS Galileo-A - Deck 3, Security Office
Timeline: MD 11, 1350hrs

[ON]

Striding into the security office Amanda looked around the small area for Gabriel, they had a lot to get caught up on in a short time. "Gabriel are you in here?" She called out.

"Turell?" Gabriel dropped the padd he was working on as he moved to her, letting out a very literal breath of relief. "Am I glad to see you! Everything has hit the fan since you left, you're never allowed off the ship again. Neither is Aria."

"Someone needed to cover the away teams ass, paid for it though." Amanda remarked raising her supported arm a little. "It was definitely an interesting experience over there but from the debriefing you certainly had one too."

He grimaced at seeing her arm, leaning in to take a look, but didn't actually touch it, not wanting to hurt her. "Your shoulder again?" he asked with a sigh on her behalf.

Amanda nodded. "I got flung through the air, it popped when I landed, didn't get a chance to put it back for quite a while., ran on adrenaline and painkillers for far longer than i should have."

"Bloody hell..." Gabriel winced at the thought, shaking his head quickly as he shuddered lightly. "Well this puts a whole new spin on the phrase 'united we stand, divided we fall'."

"Saw some really weird shit over there that's for sure. But I'm good, seen enough weird shit to last a lifetime already." Amanda sighed slightly. "We're still here so I guess we fared quite well against the Ferengi?"

"The bastards boarded us and attacked our crew," he replied tersely, folding his arms with a dark frown as he thought back on it. "Then the Klingons came and helped to get them under control, but then they were invited to dinner. That went just about as well as you'd expect; ending with blood all over the floor. Their Captain and Ensign Mimi got into a fight. And I mean a *fight*. They both get patched up in Sickbay and the next thing we know, he's dead on the deck and she's the prime suspect."

Amanda nodded. "The Captain told us about that, I wouldn't have expected her to attack someone like that but I think I would have if I was face to face with someone who murdered a whole load of my friends and family."

"Motive is there," Gabriel had to admit as he rubbed the back of his neck, grimacing as he tried to work out how best to articulate his doubts. "But means and opportunity? She was sedated at the time. Medical staff have given a statement on that. They say she couldn't have done it. The security logs have been tampered with, but there's somekind of figure just about visible there, and it doesn't correspond to any crew member's whereabouts at the time. Now Dr. Warraquim is back, I'm hoping to get more medical forensics...Dr Wylde said his hands were tied without permissions. And I'm going to check in with Ops, see if we can look into the logs and systems access."

"With Lt Rice off the ship I guess that leaves me in charge of things." Amanda told him, her voice giving a slight hint of discomfort at that. "If you focus on the investigation, I'll focus on everything else, then all of us will alternate being in here keeping an eye on Mimi."

Gabriel gave a firm nod. With an entire ship's security to take care of, Amanda was still getting the lion's share of the deal with that split. "Understood. But let me know if you need anything. I've logged and locked up the Ferengi weapons we confiscated during the fight. And I'm running regular sweeps for intruders, but nothing is showing up."

"Good. Might need your help once in a while with paperwork," Amanda said. "Shooting people that need shooting is my thing, riding a desk certainly isn't."

Gabriel chuckled softly, shaking his head as he flicked his rank pin. "I'm no Shakespeare, but I've done my share of paperwork in my time. I can get it done."

"Good. I can't stay here much longer, the Co wants the bridge fully manned for when we head back to Regula one, guess that means me." Amanda took several steps towards the door. "I'll come back here for a few hours before the end of my shift."

"Good! It's been way too quiet around here!" Gabriel called after her before chuckling softly, shaking his head. As he moved back to the desk, his step felt most definitely lighter.
