Mission: Episode 11 - Divinum Mundi
Location: Runabout Jefferson; USS Galileo - Deck 2, Transporter Room 2
Timeline: MD 17 - 1540 hours

[ON]

Mimi had just returned into the cockpit section of the runabout with two mugs of tea in hand when she saw the ship drop from warp. "Are we nearly there?" She asked the pilot Lt Henderson as she placed one of the mugs down by him and slipped back into her seat.

"Just entered the system, we'll be at Celes III in another 5 minutes, no sign of the ship yet though." Henderson replied.

"The mission report I had said the Galileo is likely to be landed on the planet rather than in orbit, so you should look on the planet itself." Mimi said then sipped at her tea.

"That explains it." Henderson redirected his search to Celes III. "There she is." He said as the sensors picked up the Galileo. "You should go make sure you're fully packed Ensign."

Mimi nodded and headed into the aft section to double check her bags, she was a little nervous about finally being at her new assignment.

Eventually Henderson maneouvered the runabout into synchronous orbit above the Galileo's position on Celes III =^= Runabout Jefferson hailling USS Galileo =^=

An environment systems status report winked out from one of the LCARS panels in the cockpit. In its place, the head and shoulders of Andreus Kohl appeared, on an as-live communications channel to the bridge of the starship below. "We're receiving you, Jefferson," said Kohl, serving bridge duty as Second Officer. It wasn't his typical shift, but this wasn't proving to be a typical mission. "How can Galileo assist?" he asked.

=^= This is Lt Henderson, I have some cargo and a new arrival for you. an Ensign Mimi. =^=

Nodding just once, Kohl remarked, "Acknowledged, Lieutenant Henderson. Thank you, very kindly, for such a welcome delivery." Kohl offered a smile to Henderson and then he tilted his head to catch his first glimpse of Ensign Mimi, over Henderson's shoulder. As his hands worked the interface panel, Kohl looked down to confirm the readouts. When he looked up, Kohl said, "I'm sending you the coordinates to our transporter room now. You can energize when ready."

=^=Understood Galileo , Jefferson out.=^= Henderson closed the channel "All set Ensign?"

"Yes sir." Mimi replied, her baggage was already stacked on the runabouts small transporter and now she stepped on, her tail twitched with nervous excitement about her new home and crew mates.

Henderson stood up and inputted the coordinates into the transporters "Good luck Mimi." he said as he initiated the transport.

The set of wide double-doors receded into the bulkhead, allowing Commander Kohl entry to Transporter Room 2. He charged into the room on long strides, but, as soon as he was there, Kohl was quick to regain his composure. Folding his hands behind his back, Kohl moved to stand between the freestanding operation console and the transporter platform. He slowed his breathing as if he had always been standing there, as if he hadn't sprinted from the Bridge to meet this new officer on behalf of the command staff.

Following at a more sedate pace, Noah arrived to the transporter room some steps behind the Commander, but in plenty of time to witness the shimmer of light announcing an incoming teleport.

From behind Kohl, the crewman at the transporter controls spoke up. "Jefferson is energizing, sir," she said. Kohl could hear the LCARS feedback tones as the crewman operated her own controls in concert with the runabout's own transporter system. Presently, two of the pads on the platform lit up and showers of sparkling energy rippled above both pads. When the visual disturbance of the annular confinement beam faded away, a young woman and her belongings came into view atop the transporter platform.

Mimi shivered after she rematerialised, going through the transporter always made her feel wierd and all her furr stand on end. She looked around first at the transport operator then the command officer stood close by. "Permission to come on board Sir."

Bobbing his head in an approving nod, Kohl said, "Permission granted, Ensign." Sweeping a hand out, Kohl gestured for Mimi to step down from the platform in the same movement as he indicated the man standing beside him. "Please allow me to introduce the Assistant Chief of Operations, Noah Khoroushi," Kohl said.

"Nice to meet you Lieutenant.. Khor..ou..shi." Mimi said taking her time with the humans slightly complex name, she always struggled with complex names.

Noah's brow arched in curiosity as the young woman stepped down from the platform. She was ... definitely feline in appearance, but not like any felinoid race he had ever seen. She had more of a human look to her form than the typical Cait. "Greetings, Ensign.

Indicating his own self, by placing his hand over his chest, Kohl said, "And I'm Andreus Kohl. I serve as Galileo's second officer. I hope your journey was as enlightening as your destination?"

"It was nice and peaceful Commander." Mimi answered, she didn't admit it but she certainly felt like she really needed a sonic shower.

Cutting his eyes to the side, Kohl sheepishly said, "Yeah, you may not find a whole lot of nice or peaceful aboard Galileo. Not if our history is any example. All of the stories you've heard about a career in Starfleet are true. They, uh, they might even be too tame."

"My first assignment was not a..... cake walk? as a human would say." Mimi told them using a human phrase she'd heard but never used before.

Noah chuckled. "Something to the sort, at least." He glanced at the Commander. "Hopefully you'll at least find a sort of stability."

"Where do you hope," Kohl asked of Mimi, "your assignment to Galileo will take you?" He shared a quick smile with Noah, as Noah would have recognized the question from his own recent arrival.

"To seek out new life and new civi..lisa..tions, would actually be the most... Yexni for me." Mimi said reverting to her native tongue when the english word escaped her for a second. "I'm the only one of my...hidden species known to the federation. So finding out about every new species I can is important to me."

"We have a fairly good mix here," Noah informed her. "So you will have a good start toward that." The girl seemed younger than she probably was - likely due to her innocence. "As I'm sure there are those here who will be eager to learn of your people."

"We host a variety of social activities," Kohl said, "among the crew. Even by spending time in the lounge or arboretum, you may be surprised how many different lifeforms and belief systems you may find. In fact, your first stop should be to Sickbay for your baseline medical check-up. Our Chief Medical Officer is unlike any being you may encounter in the Federation."

"Sounds interesting, sickbay is Deck...4?" Mimi hadn't fully familiarised herself with the Nova class layout, it was on her to do list.

"Deck four, yes," Kohl replied Mimi with an enthusiastic nod. And then he blinked. "No. Wait. No, Sickbay is on deck three now. It used to be on deck four," Kohl interjected into his own train of thought. It had been on deck three back on his own first day aboard Galileo, but that was years ago now, before the massive refit. He raised a hand as he moved towards the nearest LCARS console set into the wall. "in any case," Kohl remarked, "the computer can show you the way to Sickbay."

Mimi felt a little embarrassed she'd gotten it wrong. "Deck 3, ok I'll go there when I've dropped my bags at my quarters."

Offering a quick shake of his head, Kohl suggested, "You won't be able to go now. Doctor Allyndra prefers to work through the night."

"Understood." Mimi said with a nod "Gives me some time to get settled in and have a look around."

Noah inclined his head to her bags. "If you would like any help carrying things, I would be happy to assist you." She was likely physically capable, but having a guide would at least relieve some of the stress of finding a new location.

"Thank you Lieutenant." Mimi said and picked her bags up "But I think I can manage if you tell me where and point me in the right direction."

"Of course." He directed her to the nearest lift, and then added, "Once you reach deck four, your quarters will be three doors down to the right." Checking a PADD, Noah scanned through the basics before adding, "We're pressed for space at the moment, so it looks as if we have you rooming with the Lounge Manager - Ah ... her name is Korre Barras. If you have any concerns, don't hesitate to let me know." He couldn't see that the woman herself would prove an issue, but some people had preferences.

"Interesting. Will there be anything else Sirs." She adressed both senior officers.

A simple shake of their collective heads signified that there was nothing more for the young junior officer. The Ensign was free to begin her assignment.
