Location: Lyshan III - Corridor
Timeline: MD 09 - 1520

ON:

Amynta smiled weakly as she walked with Hex, casually. They had made a point of walking everywhere...for it not to be suspicious that they were walking here. She looked at the wall, seeing the mark next to the fire cupboard before moving to kneel. "Let's see..."

"I'll cover you," Siren said softly, moving a little further past to lean back against the wall, looking down the corridor as she pulled her tricorder out.

Amynta nodded, opening the cupboard up and pulling what had been planted there. She hid it and stood, taking a breath as she put the pack of supplies for Maria there. "Okay..."

Siren pushed away from the wall, using her ring to make the scratch mark on the left side of the doorframe as she walked past it to stand at Amynta's side, but kept the tricorder out, as if still using it. "Everything okay?"

Amynta let out a shaky breath, paling as she hooked the device up to her PADD and started to look through some of the files. "If by okay you mean plans for a weapon that could start another war..."

Siren looked down to her with wide eyes, holding her breath. She touched her shoulder, shaking her head. "Let's get it back to the ship."

"We need to do that. And decide what to do with this...we can't let Taurus get away with this," Amynta stood up and brushed her uniform down, eyes narrowed as she started to move away.

Siren nodded, frowning as she fell into step next to her, close to her side and watching her face with agreement. "We'll look through it all, work out where it's all from."

Amynta nodded quickly, frowning, her grip on the PADD tightening. "Let's hope we can do this quickly..."

Reyn frowned as he walked past the pair from the other direction, studying them. He stopped in the open space they'd come from. What they hell had they been doing here. Waiting for a moment to look around, his gaze fell upon the fire cupboard. He moved to it and knelt, opening it to look inside. The pack inside made him stop, just watching it before he swallowed. "Shit." He put it back and got up, walking quickly to Taurus' office and going inside, making sure the door was locked. "Taurus..."

Taurus sat back with a frown, leaning away from his computer, shaking his head firmly with a sigh. "What is it?" he asked quietly, rubbing his face for a moment, looking for all the world as if he had the weight of the universe on his shoulders.

"Whatever it is you are doing has been discovered by Starfleet," he said as he watched him, searching his eyes. "We need to get you out of here, Taurus."

Taurus tilted his head, standing to watch him with cool eyes, anger and frustration showing for just a moment before he swallowed it back. "I don't know what...."

"I don't...care..." Reyn said and moved to him, to grip his shoulders. "Taurus, they'll either arrest you or give you to the Cardassians who have to make an example of you. Do you understand? Please..."

Taurus frowned, torn as he took a tight breath. Despite working for the Cardassian Intelligence Bureau, he knew out and out failure would not be tolerated. It was over. He'd known that for a day or two now. "Reyn...." he shook his head with a pained frown.

"Please..." he touched Taurus' cheek, stroking it. "There's places out there, in Federation space and beyond. Places where you can make a living. A good living. Without them. But you need to be alive, Taurus. And to be alive, you have to go."

Taurus pulled close to him, the Cardassian's hand sliding up over the side of Reyn's arm, not wanting to move past him. "I have been....torn, my entire life," he whispered. "Between loyalty and life. Between fighting and peace. Sometimes, it is easier to let a superior make your choices for you."

Reyn swallowed, leaning to kiss him, tenderly. "Taurus, please...go. You must have a backup plan...a get out clause..."

Taurus let out a shaking breath, stroking the human's hair between his fingertips, savouring the feeling, knowing it could be the last time. Was it even worth it? Leaving? What was there? "I have a shuttle."

"You have to, Taurus," he said quietly, searching his eyes before pulling back, slowly. "Now."

Taurus searched the beautiful eyes, the words finally spurring him into action. He grabbed his case, shoving a few important things into it before swinging it onto his back, moving out with Reyn at a high speed. "I work for the Cardassian Intelligence Bureau," he said quietly, watching his face, wanting to be honest with him in the last moments he had. "We were developing a weapon, something to....restore some fortune to us."

Reyn walked with him, frowning at the words as he took it in. "How close were you to...finish the project?" he asked as he touched his back, wanting to reassure him.

"We had problems," he admitted quietly, shaking his head with a frustrated frown. "And then....then you start thinking what will happen with it."

"Wait..." Reyn said quickly, taking his hand to lead him to his own room. He grabbed his own bag, with all he owned, and nodded. "Okay..."

Taurus watched him with surprise, holding his breath as he grabbed his arm. "What are you doing?" he whispered, his fingers rubbing affectionately.

Reyn watched him for a long moment, breathing harder at the decision. "Well, I can't stay working somewhere with zombies and tentacles and spies..."

Taurus searched his eyes with disbelief, running his thumb along the line of his cheekbone. "Reyn, if you leave with me, there's no going back," he whispered.

"I've always been on the run," Reyn whispered as he met his eyes. "From something, my past. I want to run with someone...with you."

Taurus swallowed hard, lifting his hand to press the palm firmly against Reyn's, his fingers sliding just a touch between his as he kissed him. He liked that idea. Running from the past with someone else at his side...with Reyn. He nodded, pressing his forehead to his, just taking him in and feeling for a moment. "You're sure?"

Reyn nodded, his palm pressed against Taurus', his eyes on him. "Yes. I'm sure. Besides, you...you need me out there. I know things."

"I need you for more than that," Taurus replied quietly, holding his eyes, letting him see it was true. "Let's go...."

Reyn nodded, walking quickly with Taurus, holding his hand firmly. "To the stars and beyond..."
