ON:

Maria sighed as she rocked back on her chair in the dining area, frowning as she put her spoon in the stew thing, lifted it, and watched it drop back into her bowl again with a groan. "Yum, yum..." she said lightly, her blonde hair tied back from her face in a practical fashion.

"Isn't it delightful?" the blonde next to her smiled, her blue eyes shining. She wore her hair braided away from her face, in the same clothes as the rest of them. But Valerie liked that sorta thing. She was all for it. "Want some hotsauce?"

"Hell yes, anything to make it better," Maria gave a wide, warm smile, so different to her real persona which was stoic and some even described as icy or steely. But her smile was wide and warm, clearly as if interacting with someone she considered a friend.

Val nodded, offering the bottle of hotsauce over before leaning closer, watching her face. "So, Maria...we are planning a bit of a boxing thing. Want to join?"

"Sounds great," she replied with a bright smile, but also with genuine interest. "When do you have it planned for?"

"Next week...you and me could go head to head," she winked, studying Maria. "We could even practice in my room if you want."

"Hm," Maria leant back, sipping her drink with a sigh. "Or, how about, we could bring the whole thing forward to tonight, well....preliminaries anyway."

"Sounds good to me...I have extra tickets for the showers too. Could start there..." Val tempted, reaching to touch her knee, her eyes shining.

"Trying to get me all weak and relaxed before the boxing?" Maria teased with a gentle smile as she leant to her, encouraging the affection.

"Well...I was thinking more we could practice our wrestling," she said playfully, watching Maria before winking. "If you're game, of course."

"You never stop," Maria said softly but with a fond smile. "I'll see you tonight. But let me know if boxing really does go ahead. I'd want in."

"I will, I promise," Val said and stood, leaning across to her before resting their forehead's together. "Be safe. And smart."

"Always," Maria assured, slapping her thigh lightly as she watched her move away. She glanced around, deciding now was as good a time as any to make a move with Taurus preoccupied with the mine.

Standing deftly, Maria hummed to herself as she moved away with a confident stride, detouring down the quiet corridor that held Taurus' office. She glanced first one way and then the other, checking no one was watching.

Reaching into her pocket, she kept the small device out of sight in the palm of her hand. It only took a moment for the practiced infiltration specialist to get the door open and she slipped inside.

Maria moved quickly, running for his desk. She took a moment to just look through the draws of his desk to see if there was anything of value, but practiced fingers and eye for detail made sure that it was all replaced as she found it.

She pulled the round disc from her pocket, attaching it to the terminal. She worked quickly and methodically, using the attached device as a hacker as much as data storage, searching through the locked data until she could get to the local files only, starting to copy them. She glanced to the time with cool features, not wanting to push her luck. Markos and Hex would just have to go through what she'd found, she wouldn't have time to do it here.

Maria reached to get hold of the disc, trying to get it free and frowning as it caught. "Come on," she whispered, tugging harder, but the force of her arm pulling free made it swing and she hit the metal bust on the desk, sending it falling to the ground with a loud thud.

Outside, one of the Cardassians set up as Security heard the bang. He frowned, moving to the door and knocking. "Is everything alright in there?" he demanded, not exactly keen on barging into his superior's office.

Maria swore as she shook her head with a frown, anger passing over her features. For all the months of work of getting people to believe the cover and the legend....of building relationships....slowly gathering information and gaining trust...sometimes, it could all be ruined over a single, stupid thing. She let out a long, shaking breath to try and calm the sudden rush of adrenaline, looking around for a way out.

"Hello?" the Cardassian knocked before frowning at the lack of response. He held his disruptor ready as he opened the door.

In the spilt second as the door started to open, Maria grabbed the glass from Taurus' drawer, yanked her overalls to pull the poppers open in one strong tug to leave her uniform gaping open with her underwear and body fully on display. She pulled the band out of her hair and jumped lithely to be sprawlled on the desk, shaking her head to make the blonde hair fall loose over her shoulders. She lifted the glass to the door just as it fully swung open, smiling brightly and displaying herself across the desk, stretching to show off her athletic body in the silk underwear. "Bout time, lover, did ya find that drin..." she stopped mid-sentence and jumped when she saw his face as if shocked at who it was, gasping and covering herself up quickly. "Oh hell! I thought you were...he just...we wanted drink....for us...."

The Cardassian watched her openly before looking away. "I...he...I thought..." he frowned, before realising he wasn't in the wrong. "You should not be here. Not even to...have a liaison."

"How do you think I got in? He let me in...he just went to get us something to drink," she shook her head, feigning embarrassment as she did the overalls up.

He nodded, watching her for a long moment. He knew he should call it up, but he...well, the shame of it itself. And there was no way he was getting on Taurus' bad side. No. "I...was never here."

"Maybe a good idea, you know how angry he can get," Maria pulled a face and shook her head, lifting her finger to her lips. "Let's not let it get out."

He nodded and pulled away quickly, closing the door firmly behind him before letting out a breath. He wasn't sure if he had been aware of his...boss' interest in humans. Having now seen one so unclothed, he had to reconsider his own position.

Maria's look faded to something between ice and anger as she jumped off the table and finished doing the uniform up. Now she had to rely on him not to bring it up with Taurus or other people. Lucky for her, Taurus wasn't someone people wanted to upset around here. She moved quickly, gathering his things back up. She closed her eyes, using her photographic memory to recall how it had looked, setting everything back into place. She shut the computer down and closed it before moving quickly out of the room, remembering to lock it again behind her.

Knowing the plan of the facility well by now, she walked with a casual pace, smiling warmly to those she knew well on her way, nodding in a friendly manner to others, back into her cover persona. Her heart thumped, but she ignored it as she walked down the long corridor with the fire cupboard. She halted, crouching to tie her boots and waited for the man behind her to continue walking past. When he was turning the corner ahead, she moved into the fire equipment cupboard, slipping the device into the closest box, having to rely on their common sense to find it as she moved out.

Pulling the hairclip out of her hair, Maria used it to make the scratch to the right of the doorframe so they'd know the drop had been made and they 'had mail'.

With that, Maria walked down the corridor with a light stroll, hand in pocket, as if she didn't have anywhere particular to be with all the troubles in the mine stopping work.
