Mission: Episode 06 - Legend of Souls
Location: USS Galileo: Deck 6, Operations Office
Timeline: MD07 - 10:00

ON:

"Nia..." Nurse Corealina Vipsania smiled warmly as she stroked over the girl's hair, leading her to the Operations Office. They had managed to get something to eat, but the priority was now finding their quarters. Depending entirely what was available to them, but she hoped they would find something...decent. She would not enjoy sharing with someone else, but she could do it if she had to. She still wore her civilian clothes of the long white dress, as it was easier. She entered the room, looking around before smiling to the Andorian there, bowing her head with respect. "Hello...I am nurse Corealina Vipsania. We just came in with the shuttle."

"Hi, " Keval responded cracking his neck to relieve the tension. "Welcome to the Galileo. How can I help you?"

Lina touched her daughter's shoulder, bowing her head again. "We request some quarters," she said, smiling to him as she straightened. "I understand there is...a lot happening right now. I have arrived at a bad time and I apologise for the inconvenience."

He sat the PAaD he had been examining down and smiled at both of them. "Well, none of this mess is your fault. I'm not really the quartermaster, but I'm pretty good at hack... I can be a bit creative. At best though it would only be temporary."

She looked at him before nodding, taking her girl's hand. "Anywhere where we can rest would be...nice. And I am sure the quartermaster would...forgive you."

"I can be pretty persuasive," he replied,"I am sure he will." He began taping into the console. After a few minutes he said, "Well, we're in luck, I won't have to make it up to our esteemed quartermaster after all. You've already been assigned. You're in 04-2320 EN. And you don't have to share with anyone."

The he turned to the half-Cardassian, "this must be your daughter. Hi I'm Chief Grayson, but you can call me Keval."

The girl smiled shyly, moving forward. "I'm Nia," she said, bowing her head quickly, but not gracefully like her mother. "Graysan's not an Andorian name, is it?"

"Nia!" Lina's eyes widened and she reached to touch her girl's arm. "My apologies, Chief...We are still learning about what we can or cannot ask strangers."

"It's okay, I don't mind. No Nia, Graysan is not an Andorian name. It's Terran. I was adopted. My parents, my Andorian parents we... died when I was around your age. A Human family took me in."

The girl watched him before giving a weak nod. She could relate. "You grew up to join Starfleet...it's a great thing," she said, reaching to touch his arm.

He didn't tell her the details. They were complicated and he didn't like to think about them, much less talk about them. He smiled when she touched his arm, "Joining Star Fleet was the best decisions I've ever made. Do you think you want to join?"

Nia considered it, taking a deep breath. "If they take Cardassians by the time I am old enough, yes," she said softly, quite...realistic in what she was thinking.

Lina smiled gently, looking at Graysan with warmth. "Thank you...for the quarters. You are a kind man," she said and bowed her head, tilting her head slightly to watch him.

His smile broadened and both antennae curled back slightly. "You're welcome, glad to help out. Are the two of you hungry? I have a couple of chocolate chip cookies around here. Baked them myself."

Nia watched with excitement, glancing at her mother with hope. Lina chuckled softly, nodding. "We would be honoured to share your home baked chocolate chip cookies, Mr Graysan."

"Please," he replied it's Keval.'" He moved to a table and opened a jar pulling out three cookies. He handed one to Nia and Lina and took one for himself. "Would you like me to replicate some milk?"

"I...can't drink milk," Nia said, with a smile as she took the cookie. "Doesn't mean I can't have chocolate though..." she giggled and took a bite, moaning softly at the taste.

Lina smiled gently, watching Keval with warmth. She was...grateful to him. For making her girl feel so welcomed here. Maybe...this was the right place for Nia and her.

"Well if you like the chocolate one, I bet you'll love it when I fix my oatmeal raisin ones. I'll look you up when I make my next batch. If you want me to that is."

"Would love it!" Nia said and looked up at him before shyly moving close, taking his hand. "Thank you..."

He wrapped his fingers around her hand, "You're welcome. " he replied, "anything for a new friend."
