Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo: Deck 4 - CSO's office
Timeline: MD04

ON:

Allydnra made her way down the hallway to the CRO's office. She had asked to have a meeting with the new CRO and the CSciO. She had met Pendelton before when she had asked for help with the DNA 'scissors' but she had not met the new CRO.

The dreams still haunted her and disturbed her all at the same time. It was mostly the later for it harked back into Akkadian history and it reminded her that her ideas of bringing her planet's achievements forward still had consequences that in her enthusiasm she had not considered.

The situation though was dire and she had to put the odd idea on the table. She only hoped that neither of the two officers would think her a total wack job.

Allyndra reached the office and rang the chime. Her throat hurt, her eyes hurt, her back hurt and though she tired to look presentable she knew that there was that slightly disheveled look about her. Allyndra would have worried herself to death about that but almost everyone on the ship had that look.

The idea though she had to get out. The weapon might be part of their hope against the Borg. A weapon the Borg would not have encountered and thus not be able to adapt to. The hive mind might be wonderful in some respects but there were things it could not do like impulsive and leaps of intuition. That is why they assimilated to gain knowledge. Allyndra just could not imagine why they could not see that for themselves and realize just how staid their culture really was.

Again, she rang the chime.

Jacob had rushed over to the door as he had not been in the office for only a few minutes prior. He had come down from the Bridge to see the condition of his fellow scientists as well as all damage done to the labs. He walked to the door and found it fairly inoperative as it started to barely open then stopped. He sighed, put his massive hands in the opening grabbed the doors and with a mighty shove opened the doors forcefully, his massive muscles bulging as he did so, "Lieutenant Warraquim, it is good to see you, please come in."

"Thank you sir." Allyndra smiled. She had watched the demonstration of strength, it was impressive and combined with a sharp mind she had the pleasure of dealing with already briefly.

"I know that things are busy but I just wanted to pass off a thought or two I had on something."

"Please take a seat Allyndra, and tell me what you have. Is there a solution, a possibility, a possible 'game changer' against the Borg?" Jacob's voice was filled with hope and anxiety.

"Perhaps, the science is good, just I do not have the technical expertise to pull it off. The idea is to use a polaron beam, like the Breen did but if one cycles it fast enough with the feedback it will form bipolaron pairs. A sort of bipolaron beam if you will." Allyndra explained the basics. She had brought a PADD with her that scetched out her rubber ball dream.

"Here, this visual might help." She handed it to Jacob. "The polaron pairing is known under cold conditions to cause energy and matter to fall into its lowest quantum state, like a Bose-Enstien condensate. At that point it cannot interact with anything else. If we could engineer such a weapon it would give this ship a wallop all out of its normal size and capability, for it would like right through shields and structure like......what is the Earth phrase?" Allyndra knitted her brows for a moment thinking of the term. "Hot knife through butter?"

Stace caught the last few sentences as she, too, siddled through the doors to Pendleton's office. She looked almost annoyed at the lack of functionality of the door as she shoe-horned her slender body through the gap, and stumbling through, smiled as she righted herself. "Sorry to intrude," she said quietly, brushing her loose hair from her face, "but a polaron weapon?"

"Bipolaron," Allyndra said turning to the newcomer. "Polaron pairs to induce matter to its lowest quantum state."

Stace dusted the remaining black smudge off of her jacket and then wiped her face, seemingly adding to her already dishevelled state. "The theory might be sound, actually," she said, smiling with an impressed expression as she took the third seat, "but what of the delivery of it? Have you brought this to the attention of Engineering or Tactical? See if its technologically possible."

"No, I thought to see if it might be viable with someone with more background than I possess." Allyndra did not want to say she had literally dreamed it all up.

Stace looked at Pendleton directly and nodded with a smile. "The science is there, Lieutenant," she said, looking back to Allyndra.

Allyndra got up, "Well if you will excuse me then, I will leave it your hands. I still have many patients to attend to." She made a little nod of the head and added, "Thank you for at least listening."

"Any time, Lieutenant." She paused and then stood with her. "Contact engineering and tactical. See if there is a delivery system that can accommodate this without taking a corps of engineers six months to design and construct."

"I will ask," Allyndra made a small curtsey and then left.

Stace shot a hopeful glance to Pendleton as Allyndra left and raised her brow. "Let's hope, eh?"
