| General Overview | Jacob is a very affable, friendly and thoughtful individual. For the most part, he is truly the summation of what it means to be a "gentle giant". He is extremely intelligent but not as "well rounded" as he could be when it comes to all things social; he would be considered to be (in ancient vernacular) a "geek". He loves to learn, to research, to teach and then to learn even more. | |
| Strengths | First of all, Jacob's most obvious strength is, well, his incredible, natural strength. In a fight with some Nausican bullies, Jacob literally broke the back of the lead Nausican with a devastating wrestling move. Even some Klingons he encountered during a diplomatic outing, gave him some respect!! Secondly, and sometimes overlooked, is Jacob's level of intellect. He is a fast learner with an nearly eidetic memory. Jacob's mental acuity is nearly legendary around the dorms of Starfleet Academy. Thirdly, Jacob is very, very slow to anger. His temperament is very even keel. |

| Weaknesses | Social experience. Jacob is not anywhere near "worldly", "experienced" or "street smart" and although he is not socially inept, he needs to learn and experience more "real world" situations. Jacob is thoughtful almost to a fault. He really likes to think things through before acting. Jacob serious does not want to hurt anyone unless there is no other choice and therefore he does not apply his raw and incredible strength like he should be able to. |

Jacob is a decent (but not spectacular) Holodeck programmer. Can play Saxophone, Piano, Acoustic six and twelve string guitars. Greco-Roman Wrestling background; in High School, was Regional Champion all four years, and at the Academy, was Academy Heavyweight Champion every year he was there even going undefeated for 3 straight years. Won a gold medal for wrestling at the Olympic games. |

Even though he was born and raised in Wisconsin, his accent is not prominent (although still there at times). | Personal History | Born on a farm in the southwest area of Grant County, Wisconsin, Earth to bi-racial parents Dale Joseph and Jalena Pendleton. Dale was a farmer, Jalena was an accountant. Both were killed in a sailing accident when Jacob was at the Academy. Jacob grew up doing the hard work of farming alongside his dad while at the same time trying to satisfy his insatiable curiosity and feed his apparently boundless intellect. He graduated High School as Valdictorian, and then chose to attend Star Fleet Academy over University life due to the fact of his fascination with Xeno- studies and Space Exploration. He graduated from Star Fleet Academy with Honors from the school of Research and Xeno- Research. Jacob then took a research position aboard the scientific ship, the USS Jules Verne as a Cadet but was field promoted to Ensign when he found a breakthrough solution to a resource emergency on Algrenden IV through his diligent research. He then took an Assistant Chief Research Officer position aboard the USS H.G. Wells and served with distinction. Was field promoted to Lt. (j.g.) for "performance of duties above and beyond expectations". Now awaits his next transfer as he is looking to become the Chief Research Officer with a new scientific focused starship. |

| Starfleet History | 2380: Graduated from Starfleet Academy with honors in Xeno Research. Was given strong recommendation by multiple professors/instructors at the Academy to many ship's Captains. He was taken very quickly by USS Jules Verne and entered that ship as a Research Cadet assigned to the Xeno-Culture team aboard that ship. During a mission to Algrenden IV, it was found that the colony there was quickly running out of necessary resources due to the planet's volatile nature. Jacob quickly took the lead of the research team through his dedicated research work ethic. After three full days without sleep or rest, Jacob, via his thorough research, found the solution to the colony's issue by having the Verne do precise "mining" of the planets deep mantle using modified photon torpedoes which exposed vast new resources for the colony. He (and the team) were given multiple awards and commendations and he, himself, was field promoted on the spot to the rank of Ensign. 2382: Took a transfer offered to him by the USS H.G. Wells as he wanted to focus his Research talents on Inter-Galactic Archeology. During several weeks of studying an enormous Black Hole, Jacob found several new possibilities of how the Black Hole's gravity could directly relate to some of the mysteries regarding String Theory and Quantum Mechanics. For his diligence in doing this research (sometimes working twenty hours a day), he was given accolades and commendations by his Captain which included a field promotion to Lieutenant (J.G.). 2388: Participated in a full year "dig" and research of the Ancient Alien ruins at Qalad II. He was quoted at the time stating that "This was one of the greatest moments of my life." |
