Location: USS Galileo-A - Deck 3, Sickbay
Timeline: MD 04, 2335 hrs

Previously, on Wounded (Part 2)...

Looking John in the eyes, Lake asked him, "Would you prefer to go to Sickbay and do this right, or do you want to do this here?" Somehow, Lake suspected he could predict the answer.

"Best we get 'er done here. I have not gotten the screaming call from the bridge yet, but it is only goin' to be a matter of seconds before we get 'More power!! We need more power!!" John did his best imitation of Kohl's command voice but it came out with a Earth style Southern accent.

Nodding in agreement, Lake remarked, "You won't have nerve damage. I can promise you that much. This would be cleaner with a biobed, but you won't have nerve damage." Lake wrapped the osteotractor straps around John's shoulder and torso and he tightened them in place. "I'll get to that fracture in a minute," Lake said, as he synced the device's controls to his medical tricorder. For a moment, Lake spared a glance at Donald's vital signs through the monitor, and then he hit the activation toggle for John's osteotractor. "But let's get that shoulder in place," Lake said; "This might feel a little funny... Don't bite your tongue!"

And Now, the Continuation...

Deck 3, Sickbay

Alexion groaned as he pushed himself off the deck, blinking the blood out of his eyes before chasing it away with the back of his sleeve. He had no real idea what in all the fires was going on, but he had a feeling he was lucky to be picking himself off the deck still in one piece. He caught his breath as he hauled himself up, pulling his bloody jacket off just in time for the Sickbay doors to open.

Verity moved in, clutching the side of his head as he half stumbled to a biobed, propping himself up against it for a moment. There was a bloody stain forming on the side of his jacket, but he was still, mostly, on his feet.

"Let me take a look," Alexion made his way over, scanning with his tricorder. With the biobeds out of order, it was the best they were going to get. He pressed his lips tightly together to remain silent. Of all the people to come through those doors, the Chaplain was not a face he had wanted to see.

Verity watched him with a gaze that made him feel like he was rocking slowly up and down, catching his breath as he tried to meet the other man's eyes. "Laeon's fine," he finally said, knowing it was what was on the doctor's mind, and also knowing he wasn't going to ask.

"Of course he is," Alexion shrugged as he glanced to him, his features wholly casual, but inside, the relief that his son was safe was undeniable. Just as he was pressing a hypo to Verity's pale skin, he glanced to the door as he heard the familiar hiss as it slid open.

Dean Winter moved in absently, his steps shuffling and halting. He held onto his arm as he glanced around with confusion, his features pale with shock and gaze vague as he looked around Sickbay.

Verity watched the young man with the same concern as Alexion before motioning carefully towards him, grimacing as he reached for a regnenerator. "Go check him out, I think he's in his own world," he whispered to Alexion, pulling his own jacket carefully off with a stifled groan to get the regenerator to the skin himself.

Alexion moved quickly to the young man, reaching out to take a hold of the bloody arm that was being held at a disconcerting angle. "Is it just your arm?" he asked, trying to get him to focus as he ushered him to a biobed...they were good to sit on if nothing else.

Dean didn't look at him. He was staring at the blood dripping from his fingertips, his breathing shallow as he was guided to sit...not stopping him, but not helping either. "The world turned upside down..." he whispered to himself, distant, as if he didn't understand.

Alexion frowned as he ran the tricorder over him, shaking his head firmly. "Winter, look at me, you need to focus," his voice was stern...too stern he realised as the young man tried to half turn himself away from him. He sighed, lifting his eyes upwards before reaching to put a hand in front of his face, as if to catch Dean's attention and drag it back to him. He took the chance to feel his skin...cool and clammy. "Winter...Winter, now's not the time, we need you here..."

Verity slipped off his own bed, shuffling over before setting himself on the other side of the young man. He'd known him long enough now to realise he struggled with reality on the best of occasions and preferred to live in his own world of work and experiments, let alone being fully present with something as frightening as this. He started chatting to him, about not much at all, just casual chat, pulling his attention as he motioned for Alexion to start work on the young man's arm.

Alexion glanced to Verity, arching an eyebrow before shrugging lightly, almost to himself as he eased Dean's jacket off. He took a sharp intake of breath at the mess he saw under it, his features hardening. "Okay..." he whispered, getting a hypo to his neck as he let Verity keep the distraction and focus up.

Raine Ni-ya supported herself on the wall as she managed to get herself to sickbay. She looked around, some light blue blood leaking from the corner of her mouth. She took in what was happening in the sickbay and pushed herself up, slowly, taking a slow breath. "Need an extra pair of hands?" she asked and moved forward, to Alexion's side. She met Verity's eyes for a moment before she smiled weakly, giving a small nod of recognition. "I am able to work."

"Are you sure about that?" Alexion asked bluntly as he spared her a glance, his eyebrow arching at the sight of her. "It looks like you could do with some help yourself..." he motioned to the blood with his spare hand.

Dean looked to Raine with curious eyes, in truth, looking anywhere but the injuries he had, not able to process them. "Your blood is going the wrong way..." he said lightly when he saw the colour of it.

Raine moved her hand to her mouth and wiped the blood away, glancing at it. "My secondary heart stopped when I met the bulkhead in a full body throw. It is not fatal for my species. Nothing else appears broken and the cuts and scrapes will heal on their own, swiftly," she said as she looked at Dean, noticing him watching her. "I can help. Let me..." she said and removed her gloves, showing her hands and the scales on them. The injured man seemed almost curious about her appearance. Perhaps it was something she could use to distract him from what was happening. "And tell me what you need me to do, Doctor."

"Get a painkiller in you," Alexion tossed a hypospray at her, his other hand still working on the injured young man. Without a biobed, he used his instinct as much as the tricorder laid out next to him. "And get ready for the hoard, I doubt they're far away," he nodded at the doors.

Raine caught the hypo and pressed it against her own neck, watching the injured man as she did so. "I will prepare..." she said before she put the hypo down. She moved to get things ready, with a clear idea of what may be needed. It felt...strange, to yet again touch medical equipment. She had hidden herself away from this for so long, yet now they needed people to help. Perhaps she could finally put some of her darker knowledge to use in doing something good.

She moved to Alexion's side, looking at the injuries he was working on, her hand touching his arm for a moment. He would perhaps not be able to save the arm. But she wanted to give him the time to do it. She didn't say anything though, pulling back instead...and waiting for the hoard.

=^=Allyndra to sickbay. Incoming site to site, highly injured.=^= Crackled over the comms.

Alexion turned to see the laid out, bloody body of Plumeri appear on the biobed behind him. Not that it would do any real good. "Try and keep him with us," he said to Verity as he motioned with his head to Dean. "Preferably in the same dimension..." he pushed the regenerator into Verity's hand before waving for Raine to join him at Plumeri's side.

He started to scan with the tricorder, but he didn't need it to see what bad shape the man was in. He glanced above the tricorder to Raine, shaking his head lightly. "We're going to need to operate," he threw a hypo into her hand for her to administer to at least stabilise the blood loss. "With half of this equipment out of order though, it would be a barbaric risk," he shook his head lightly. He didn't know this man well, and surgery was the only option he'd consider.

Raine pressed the hypo against the wounded man's neck before she frowned. "It would be useless now..." she said before she met his eyes, holding them. "But not later. Is stasis or cryofreeze an option?" she asked him. It was that or do nothing...they could not waste all their resources on one person.

"We can put him in stasis," Alexion was already moving to ready the unit, shaking his head with a slight frown. He didn't see any other way. He could start surgery without the full compliment of equipment of course, but it would heighten the risk and keep him tied up for any other injuries that were on their way. He nodded to Raine, watching her pale hands as they helped him with the unconscious patient. No sooner had they set him safely in stasis did the tell tale whine of the transporter announce more bad news on the way.

Her screams no longer filled the room as dancing blue lights materialised the unconscious and bloodied Kala Gorvel into sickbay. Her skin was white like marble having lost already so much blood even her trill markings looked fainter, if someone took a quick glance her usual gold engineering uniform was crimson and she could have been mistaken for a command officer. The collar dogs that usually sat around her neck were missing and the parts of her uniform that weren't crimson were either charred or missing completely, having retreated inside her mind Kala's body was shutting down trying to protect her vital organs.

"Doctor Wylde," Raine moved over the moment that Kala came in, her fingers touching her pulsepoint. She looked over at Doctor Wylde before she started to grab hypos. Trills. She knew enough about them to start injecting Kala, her eyes going to the woman's face. "Is she Joined?" she asked, because she did not have access to medical files. For obvious reasons.

Alexion shook his head as he moved swiftly around the other side of the bed, his eyes on the scan results coming through on the tricorder...although, one look at the woman made it clear how bad she was. He lifted his eyes to look at Raine, snapping the tricorder shut. "Hold the fort with Thorne, I'll take care of this..."
