Mission: Episode 15 - Emanation
Location: Akkadia
Timeline: MD 43, 1300 hrs

ON:

Allyndra sat in the front of the now nearly empty Danube. They had dropped off the equipment and supplies and now were heading onto home. Well home for her. She watched as the Twins grew bigger as they headed into the inner system.

She was nervous about talking to the council but hoped that she and with the help of Varro could make the council see her way. She talked to the Andorian pilot.

"That is Anesidora, mostly uninhabitable. There is though a very large shield volcano that rises up high enough that the upper portion is roughly M class. And over there," she pointed toward another world they would pass by. "That is Hulibri, a cold world, but not as much as your home world."

Tris listened intently to the Commander while looking at the sensor readouts of the worlds she spoke about. He then peered out at the planets with his own eyes. He wanted to ask a question, yet not sound ridiculous, "Which world is your . . home?" The Andorian finished hesitantly.

"That bright spot there," she pointed again. It was slow going since they were not allowed to do anything above impulse in the Akkadian system. "We are second planet out from the Twins...the two suns. That is what we call them, the Twins." She was babbling slightly being nervous.

Tris smiled slightly, feeling he recognized some affinity she had for the world.

Standing close by, Mimi looked out the Danube's windows at the planets as they passed by. "Which is the one you made me get chased by the animals on Allyndra?"

Allyndra looked back over her shoulder, "Anesidora, that is why in the simulation you could only run so far down the hill. Further down the thick blanket of air is mostly carbon dioxide. Dangerous place, Anesidora, and while I have not been there, I have read much from earlier times."

"Ah, do you think we could go there if we have time?" Mimi asked only for Allyndra's response to be interrupted when a voice came in over the comm.

=^=Attention craft you are entering restricted space. Please identify yourself.=^= a harsh feminine voice said with that no nonsense tone.

Allyndra leaned over toward the Andorian pilot and said quitely, "Go ahead and identify that we are a Federation craft, but tell them you have Mother Named of House Warraquim on board."

Tris understood what he needed to do. He had actually done some reading up on protocol introductions over the last couple days. He and activated the Comm, "This is 'Shuttlecraft Runner' from the United Federation of Planets, humbly requesting clearance to approach. We are escorting 'Mother, Named of House Warraquim' on board." He glanced at the Commander, hoping that his overture had been adequate.

Allyndra nodded and then the comm came to life again this time the voice had relaxed noticeably.

=^=Welcome home Mother.=^= there was a pause and then =^=Pilot of Runner you are cleared to land in the courtyard of House Warraquim. We are sending coordinates now. Acknowledge when you have them.=^=

A happy yet smug look came over the Andorian's face at their reply. When he saw the coordinate data on his screen he replied over the Comm, "I have received the coordinates. Thank you." Ens. Shizn then closed the Comm, entered the coordinates into the guidance system, and angled the shuttle in for their approach..

Galan had been oddly quiet through the ride. Varro looked over at his friend. He shifted a bit closer and kept his voice low. "You seem quieter then usual." Varro had learned over the last while that Galan was a ball of energy. He hid it but he loved to talk. This quiet brooding persona was not him.

Galan shrugged. "I'm fine."

Varro sighed, "Your uncomfortable. I can feel it. The title threw you."

Galan gave a curt nod.

Varro sighed and gave his friend a shoulder pat. "Don't you worry. I will find a way around it...in fact I have. We'll talk more once we're settled in quarters."

Galan looked at Varro quizzically.

Home was just as beautiful as Allyndra remembered it. As they came in slowly. The sky a brilliant blue, the ocean mostly calm just gentle waves lapping the cliffs and shores. The Twins sat one just starting to shade the other. The city, well more a town, lay spread in neat rows with lush green surrounding. At the end toward the sea, on a prominent point a tall structure with many balconies stood and in the front the large courtyard. Even from here one could see the colour of the massed household.

"Well Ambassador, think you are ready?" Allyndra asked not looking at him

"As ready as one can be." He said smiling. He nudged Galan who also got up from his seat.

"Everyone, we have arrived, Ensign as gentle as you can manage please."

"Yes Ma'am," Tris replied as he brought the shuttle closer and closer to he landing grid identified for them. He remained totally focused to the controls and sensor data for landing. There was not even a bump at the end as the mass of the shuttle came to rest. He quickly deactivated the engines, stabilized the fuel systems, and did a quick scan of the atmospheric pressure, which he began to equalize with a soft hiss.

Varro looked over at their pilot. He stepped closer. "Nice landing Mr. Shizn."

Tris did not reply, but just smiled as a warm feeling welled up in his cold veins.

Allyndra stood and patted the Andorian's shoulder. "Very good indeed." She then moved to the door, but turned her head. "Varro just behind on my right and Eelim same on my left. Mimi, Tris you are most welcome as well."

Mimi nodded and quickly ran her fingers through her fur and straightened her outfit a little before following everyone else out the runabout.

Tris looked to Ensign Mimi and shrugged lightly and followed the other officers.

She stepped out and almost as one the assembled crowd either bowed deeply or made deep curtsies. She made a small one back and then one of the women straightened and said something in Akkadian and moved forward.

"Welcome home Mother," she said and the rest of the group straightened.

"Thank you, it is nice to be home. These are my guests. Ambassador Varro, Beloved Eelim, my friends Tris Shizn and Mimi." Allyndra introduced the others.

The woman regarded each in turn and then made a motion with her hands. Several of the tall males moved away and approached and making bows but less this time.

"Do you have belongings Mother?" she asked.

"No, we traveled light, as well as my guests."

"Very good, we shall provide, come Mother your quarters have been prepared." She waited a moment and then added looking to the rest, "these attendants will show you to guest accommodations." She then made another curtsy and turned away.

Tris was amazed by all those present giving homage to their Commander. He had never seen anything like this in recent history files. There were a few memories of old Earth and a couple things he recalled about Vulcan.

Several women moved forward followed each by three of the big tall sterile males. They split as they came toward the group and again that formal bit of curtsy or bow.

"Ambassador Varro, I am Lewa illm Warraquim, I shall be your guide and these will be your attendants."

Varro raised an eyebrow and looked over. He bowed and thanked Lewa. He looked over at Eelim who seemed a bit shell shocked.

Another came over to Eelim and made a very deep curtsy and the attendants a very deep bow, "Nehani milimili*, I am O'lau illm Warraquim, it is my honour to be your guide."

Eelim followed Varro's bow and thanked O'lau for her help and looked helplessly at Varro. He was a bit lost.

Varro smiled, "Lewa I have a small request."

"Sir?" Lewa cocked her head slightly.

"My friend Galan here will be my assistant for the proceedings and my diplomatic guard. Can we get quarters in close proximity?" He asked.

Lewa made a small dip, "I shall have things arranged. The Nehani milimili is to have adjoining quarters to the Mother." She turned to the attendants and spoke quickly in Akkadian and two of them ran off. As they did so two more peeled away from the general crowd and replaced them.

"It is being arranged, come then." Lewa said and turned again.

Varro bowed, "Thank you. You kindness is appreciated." He gave Galan a nudge.

The nudge pulled Eelim out of his daze and he too bowed and thanked Lewa. He looked over at Allyndra. Not for the first this his mind asked him the same question, why did she pick him. He knew he was in love with her but was he good enough for her?

The final woman approached Mimi and Tris. Again she curtsy and bows, but not as deep as Eelim's had been, but equal to Varro's. "Welcome honoured guests, I am H'oana illm Warraquim. I will be your guide and these will be your attendants." She made a signal with her hand and three more of the tall males came over. "Each of you will have three to attend to your needs."

Tris wasn't quite sure what to think of all these 'attendees', which to him seemed more like guards, but he knew better than to be disrespectful. He gave a simple nod of his head with a prim and accepting smile. He then glanced to Mimi to watch her response.

In the spur of the moment Mimi did a bow of her own; a long sweeping movement of her right arm and bending forwards almost 90 degrees. It was a gesture she hadn't done in years and she was surprised she'd remembered it. "It is nice to meet you H'oana."

Tris glanced at the bow that Mimi had made and a confused look came over his face, but only for a second, then back to being pleasant for their 'attendees'.

H'oana smiled. She suppressed a bit of surprise at the bow, men bowed, ladies curtsied, but then again she had been drilled that the Mother was bringing aliens to the House and be prepared for things that might and probably would be unusual.

As Shizn and Mimi walked side by side, behind the others, he leaned his head over slightly and spoke softly, "Have you ever seen such colorful and flamboyant clothing? And it's not even a party."

"Maybe they are trying to.... make a good expression." Mimi replied "We are guests to their planet."

Tris' lips came to a prim line and he nodded his head slowly to the positive, "Maybe so, maybe so."
