Mission: Episode 10 - Symposium
Location: En Route to Jupiter Station
Timeline: MD 10 - 0900

This wasn't happening. Absolutely, in no possible way was it happening; the words continued to play through Noah's mind as he closed his eyes to his present surroundings - as if thinking hard enough would change a blasted thing and when he opened his eyes his sister would NOT be sitting in the seat beside him. Yet there she was, ear-buds in as she hummed along to whatever music was playing into her head, blithely ignoring him and his growing ire.

He should have known something was up before he even left home. His mother had been more amused than surprised when he mentioned Yasmin would accompany him to Luna. Even their father had not been taken aback. They had known what she intended and had thought he was the one to plan it all!

Of course, Yasmin hadn't broken the news to Noah until this morning, waiting until they were standing in line at the transport. While it hadn't seemed out of the ordinary for her to tag along, he'd been taken completely aback when his sister produced her own travel pass, offering up an innocent smile as she brushed ahead of him. "You'll thank me when we get to your ship."

"I'll what?" He'd been forced to hurry after her as she made her way onto the shuttle.

That had been an hour ago. Now, as he looked into the next three days, Noah found himself wondering how long he would last before he snapped. Turning to the side, he regarded Yasmine for a long moment before asking, "So how long do you intend to play this game?"

For a moment, she didn't respond, though he knew she heard him. Finally, Yasmin reached up to pull out one of the buds, the tinny echo of some stringed instrument echoing in the space between them. "What game, Noah? I told you I applied for independent study and was accepted. Maman and Agha said I could go with you if you agreed, and you did."

"I agreed for you to come with me to Luna, NOT on the Galileo! You're getting on a shuttle home once we reach Jupiter station - no questions asked."

She didn't even flinch. "You're being silly. This is a wonderful opportunity for me - you know I want to study Biology, and you said yourself the Galileo is a Science-oriented ship. It will be fine."

"The Thisbe was a Science vessel too, Yaya," Which, in saying it, only dredged up memories best left covered. "Please, just ... call Agha when we get to the station and tell him you changed your mind." She smiled. "Yasmin, I'm serious."

"You're always serious, Noah. That's why you need me." She patted his arm. "Don't worry - you'll thank me by time we're on the ship." before he could protest, she had the ear-bud in again and was absorbed into her music once more.

Turning back to the view-screen, Noah groaned and closed his eyes, letting out a frustrated breath. This was going to be a long trip; and that was if he could talk her out of the Galileo once they reached Jupiter Station. in his gut, Noah had a sinking feeling that was a battle he was already destined to lose.

I am going to love that little sister! We'll become fast friends. Play tricks on the crew. Giggle and laugh and perhaps even tapdance!
