ON:

They had moved to the couch that broke up the lounge area to their accommodation, Luke had brought over his plate and finished the snack there and now found himself playing with it nervously. He had faced unrelenting forces of Jem-hadr soldiers, borg drones and recently red tentacle zombie mind controlling Cardassian things and yet - found speaking to Corealina impossibly difficulty. Not because he didn't have anything to say but didn't want to say anything wrong to her. She was lovely and pleasant in all the ways a woman could be and she didn't exactly stop there she was beautiful to, her eyes lit up like oversized gems. "Scribonia is a delightful young lady, you must be proud" he said testing the waters.

"She is that," Lina said and bowed her head in gratitude. "Nia is such a strong spirit. She has the...bluntness of her Cardassian side..." she tilted her head as she met his eyes again, studying him closer. "You do not seem to mind her."

Thinking about the question he nodded "We shouldn't hold what happened during the war accountable to children especially those as of result to such a thing besides... Cardassians are Ok, arrogant but Ok" he said "I wouldn't want abbey held accountable for the things I've done so of course I don't mind"

"Not all think in such a way," Lina said and shook her head, with a small smile. "It mattered where I am from too. Your...ancestry. The sins of the fathers." She met her eyes and smiled, playfully. "Right now, I do not care. I care little about what rumours are tied to me. I am free here."

"But they're only rumours of course" He quickly said giving his matter-of-factly opinion "We're all free here, to do as we please... To a certain extent" He chuckled. "Lets talk about something less depressing eh?" He said smiling at Lina finding her yes once again.

"I did not find it depressing...but I understand," Lina said gently, leaning closer to touch his arm. "You wish to move the conversation onto other things. Things...of a different nature."

Not meaning exactly what he said he placed his hand over her's feeling the surge of courage to do so at that moment "We could talk about anything you like" He shrugged. "I just really came here to see you again in a different environment" Luke finally admitted.

"Truth works best. This is...where in theory I feel...most...at home," she swung her legs off and stood, stretching. The white dress moved with her as she walked to get them something to drink, flowing down from the corseted waistline. "This is where I rule," she smiled playfully, looking over at him. "Unlike the bar, where I was...merely observing. Here, I run the show."

Luke watched and enjoyed doing so as she walked her dress flowing behind her like a shadow. "And what show is that exactly?" He dared to venture reaming seated and now wanting to move or take his eyes of her gracefulness.

She tilted her head, watching him as she poured the drinks, her hand steady. "The show of my life." She carried the drinks over, sitting down again as she studied him. "I like your eyes, Luke. Such...colour."

Smiling he met her gaze. His eyes were a dark kind of green which changed in different light right now he imagined they shone like emeralds but wasn't to sure since he couldn't look in a mirror instead had her pale yellow eyes. "Your eye's are much nicer than mine" Was all he mumbled his hand felt warm as he could feel the need to touch hers.

"These? I have been told they are...unsettling for some..." she said and smiled, looking down almost playfully. "The eyes of the dead."

He shook his head "I have seen dead eye's, they are filled with a lot of things can tell entire stories but your eyes are not dead they are alive and believe me they are far form unsettling" He returned her gesture and finally age into the building pressure and found her free hand with his resting it on top.

She watched him, not pulling her hand away as she let out a breath. "Good. I do not wish for you to find it...strange," she said, softly.

Luke smiled and squeezed her hand gently, comfortingly before speaking again allowing them to have a lull in the moment "I don't find many things strange anymore" he once again looked into her eyes, those beautiful yellow eyes that shine like amethysts "You are remarkably beautiful Corealina"

She watched him for a long moment before smiling gently. "You are a remarkable man," she whispered softly.

Looking at the time Luke let out a small sigh he did't have anywhere urgent he needed to be but knew he shouldn't overstay his welcome eve though he doubted Corealina would say anything. "I think it's time for me to leave you to yourself" He said twisting his body so it was now more direct parallel with her own. "I'd like to do this again sometime, perhaps over lunch or a glass of wine?" He said shyly the rush of pink swelling on his cheeks.

"I would enjoy that," she said and nodded, watching him before standing, giving him a nod. "Let me show you out, Luke."

Luke stood and followed behind her until he was now walking shoulder to shoulder he smiled "What plans do you have for the upcoming shore leave?" He asked as they reached the door.

"I...had no plans," she admitted and bowed her head, smiling warmly. "Stay on the starbase, I suppose. I do not wish to...travel too much."

"Then we should make plans I myself will be leaving for the wedding but what time I have here I would like to spend with you? If that's something you would care to entertain?" He asked nervously.

"I would enjoy that immensely," she said and bowed her head, a warm smile on her lips. "Thank you for the offer..."

Relaxing to he response a small sigh escaped his parted lip "Great" He said now unsure how to continue the conversation any further luckily for him she took the responsibility away from him.

She nodded before leaning close, kissing his cheek. "Goodbye, Luke," she said and pulled back, with a small smile.
