Rixxa sat at the triage desk, things seemed very quiet. So she sat there calibrating medical scanners. There was a woop woop woop noise as the scanner sent data to her tricorder. "Well what do you know I am alive!"

Rixxa said that outloud and giggled a little. She set the scanner down as an attractive crewmember walked by, She stared longingly for a moment. She then snapped her gaze forward somebody who was a superior was nearby, Her blue ears tingled.

"I would hope so," replied Tuula as she approached the desk. "I'm Dr. Tuula Voutilainen, the new resident. It's my first day," she added, reaching one hand over the desk to offer a handshake.

She looked at the hand and then at the person extending the hand, "Oh hello there! I'm Rixxa I sort of do a little bit of this and that around here, right now I am calibrating tricorders, scanners and other things that go beep in the day or night."

Rixxa offered a friendly smile.

"Hyv Huomenta!" She offered with a chipper smile.

"You speak Finnish?" asked Tuula, pleasantly surprised. This was by far much warmer than the welcome she got on her last assignment. Of course, with a Vulcan department head and serving at the same time under a Tellarite and an Andorian doctor, a warm welcome is pretty much out of the question. "I mean, it hasn't been morning for a few hours, but it's the thought that counts. Vortt tuwll bixxott, Rixxa," (It is nice to meet you, Rixxa) she added, thinking back to her partial knowledge of the Bolian language picked up years ago.

Rixxa smiled, "I spent a few months on a Colonial transport to the Kaluva Colony out near Barnard's Star. So I picked up enough to get me in trouble, though they got me good with the Saint Urho day more then once."

Rixxa scanned the doctor with the bioscanner. "Oh good you are alive too." Rixxa then giggled.

"Saint Urho's day -- that's a good one," replied Tuula with a hint of a chuckle at the antics of a bored nurse with a medical scanner. "I dated a Bolian while I was doing my pre-med in Helsinki, so I picked up a fair bit of the language and culture. Believe it or not, he actually liked Lutefisk." The smile disappeared from Tuula's face. "And the jerk is actually on this ship."

"Well its pretty good. But then again, Bolian cuisine I think is based on a dare, Give me a hunk of cheesecake or a triple cheeseburger with bacon, Cause you know everything is better with bacon." She smirked a little trying to get this young woman to laugh.

"Of course," Tuula's stomach growled at the mention of food; she hadn't eaten anything since her arrival. "Well, everthing but your cholesterol and sodium levels," she added, using a deadpan delivery for the little medical joke.

"Well you are going to like it here, I promise you if he gives you any trouble, the nursing staff will riot." Rixxa gave a toothy smile.

"Good. He better not, because the last time I saw him..." Tuula trailed off. She hadn't told the full story of their breakup to anyone, not even Jaana. Of course, it was all in her medical records for anyone to see. "Well, that's not important."

Rixxa smiled, "Well you can either talk now or when I take you out drinking. You would be amazed at what a few margaritas and some cheese sticks can acomplish?"

"It's a date."
