Laeon frowned as he leant back against one of the side tables in Sickbay, watching his father with a frown. The youth let out a soft breath, shaking his head. "You have been here too long," he said, in their own language.

Alexion arched an eyebrow, but carried on working. "I thought we agreed you could stand there if you stay quiet?" he said lightly, but continued to look over the scans they'd done on one of the possible candidates for a more complicated de-assimilation.

"Days, actually," Laeon shook his head with a frown, watching him with concern. Although he looked like a human 15 or 16 year old boy, he spoke with confidence, knowing he was right. "The human doctors go home and sleep, you do not. You have been working four days without rest."

"They need to sleep every day, our race do not," Alexion pointed out, shaking his head, frowning as he rubbed the back of his neck, considering the best way to remove the implant without leaving lasting damage to the nerves.

"Then the least you can do is take energy," Laeon moved to Alexion, offering his hand out with a frown.

"No," Alexion shook his head quickly, finally looking across to his son, meeting the blue eyes that were the same shade as his own. "No, I won't take your energy, you know that."

"Why not? They will not let me do anything anyway, they call me a kid," Laeon rolled his eyes. It still stung, that he was older than most here, and yet he was a 'kid' by his own race's standards. "If they won't let me do anything, I may as well sleep and you take my energy."

"Things are not so bad that it has come to that," Alexion touched the lad's shoulder all the same, squeezing it gently.

"Everything okay?" Amynta Markos asked as she watched them. She hadn't understood a single word of their language, but to her ears they sounded beautiful. No. More than that. And there was a true connection and love between father and son. She met Alexion's eyes and gave a small nod. "Doctor?"

They both turned their heads to look at her, the similarity clear in them even if Laeon was naturally more slender and softer in features than his father.

"Yes, Lieutenant," Alexion arched an eyebrow with a small smile at using her rank rather than her name, having gotten to know her rather well over a series of drinks on various trips to the lounge.

"Amynta, will you tell him to either get some rest or some energy?" Laeon shook his head, motioning to his father. "He's still working on Borg."

Amynta looked at Laeon before back at Alexion. "Without any rest?" she asked, the disapproval clear in her voice. "Now that is just silly. Last thing we need is you collapsing because you have neglected yourself."

"My race only requires sleep every three days," Alexion waved his hand dismissively.

"Yes, but we also need to eat more and more often than humans, and this is day four," Laeon pointed out, stabbing his father's arm with an accusatory finger.

"Fine, fine!" Alexion shook his head. "I will...do something," he avoided actually saying what though. In truth, he had a lot of surgical experience, and that was exactly what these people up for de-assimilation needed right now. If it came to it, he might just have to transfer some energy from Laeon after all. He frowned, bringing his mind back to the present. "Can I help you, Amynta?"

She watched him before looking down. "Just checking in on those that we rescued from the cube." She meant the children, really. But she wouldn't admit it.

Alexion watched her face for a long moment. He had been on the same Borg team as her, he knew what she meant. "Well, the odds for all we brought home are good, so long as we can make sure they get the best care in the best place. For example, the newer turned drones, like those from Galileo and Venture, are less complex in some ways, so we can de-assimilate at least some here. Other more complex cases, like the children, will be best kept in stasis and sent on to a proper medical facility."

"And safer anyway...don't want to backfire either," she said and held his eyes, watching him. "Your son is right, you should eat or rest...preferably both, actually."

Alexion sighed, shaking his head as he looked between his son and Amynta. He knew he didn't stand a chance once those two put their heads together.
