Keval was for lack of a better word a gym rat. His tastes for xtreme sports demanded it. It also helped him channel certain frustrations. He had arrived at the gym even earlier than usual that morning and was pushing himself to the limit. His grey tee shirt was dark with perspiration and his gym shorts clung to his thighs and legs.

He was bench pressing close to twice his weight and just managed to get the tenth rep done and on the stand. His antennae were drooping forward almost in his eyes. His breathing was slightly elevated but not too much so. Nevertheless he decided that he was done with the weights for the morning. He rolled off of the bench.

During Keval's last few reps, the massive doors between the holodeck and the passageway heaved apart with a mechanical sigh. The Andorian's body language revealed no acknowledgement or notice of the blond Argelian medical officer who ambled in from the passageway. A sideways smile played across Andreus Kohl's features as his gaze was drawn to Keval. During scheduled hours on scheduled days, one of the holodecks was devoted to a public gymnasium. Kohl was pleased to discover the schedule hadn't changed in his absence. Today, it was very pleasing indeed.

As Keval rolled off the bench, Kohl closed the distance between them. Kohl nodded at the weights, and in a taunting timbre, he said, "Shouldn't you have a spotter for that?"

The Andorian's head didn't move, but his eyes took a quick appraising glance at the other man and he allowed a small smile to play at his lips.

"Yeah that is probably a good idea. But there was nobody here when I started and you're the first to volunteer for the job. I was going to just go grab a shower and swim a few laps, but if you want to spot me I could do another set."

He picked up a towel from the end of the bench and wiped his face with it. His smile broadened slightly and turned mischievous. "And then I could always return the favor, or maybe we could take turns. You know you help me I help you?"

His statement could of course be taken in several ways. Totally innocent or flirting. In truth it was somewhere in between and could go either way depending on how the pinkskin replied.

Kohl smiled at that, his eyes wandering thoughtfully. Having come directly from Sickbay, he was clad in his uniform, but he was loosening the jacket. Once he peeled the jacket off, Kohl sat on the bench beside Keval, making thigh-to-thigh contact. "To be honest," Kohl said, "I came here for the water."

Keval had of course heard the rumors about Ensign Nicholas being busted so he wasn't sure exactly where things would end up, he had his own run in with Stone and didn't look forward to another.

The holodeck was not technically a public area under normal circumstances, but then again they were not the only real people using it. They gym program was open to everyone. Still he did not shy away from the close contact.

"Well then perhaps we should head to the pool, since it seems we swim on the same team."

In reply to Keval's unfamiliar idiom, Kohl cocked an eyebrow and said, "Oh?" As he loosened the front of his teal turtleneck, Kohl tilted his head towards the Andorian. "And what team do we swim for?"

Keval's left antennae moved forward slightly as he tried to decide if the other man was truly unfamiliar with his words or if he was just twisting his antennae. He wasn't quite sure but in either case he decided to just cut to the chase.

"Well I was on the Academy's team and just missed going to the Olympics, but I was referring to the boys only team."

"Boys only team," Kohl said, echoing Keval's words without nearly as much inflection. Kohl stared down at his thighs, while he removed his tunic, baring his chest. Kohl "hmm"ed thoughtfully, and then: "Oh! Oh, I see. Is that something people take note of on your world? When there are four genders to choose from, and you are aroused by only one?"

Keval was finding it difficult to keep focused on Kohl's eyes. "Well on my home two, but with most other races only one. What about you?"

"On my world..." Kohl started to say, but he had to stop and choose his words carefully. There was no shame in his words, but Federation peoples often couldn't relate to genuine, unadulterated hedonism. "People are not judged for their behaviour. The notion of sexual taboo is... foreign to me."

"That doesn't bother me in the least, but I'm sorry," the Andorian said with genuine curiosity, "You looked Terran to me. What world are you from?"

Kohl's sapphire eyes followed the Andorian's antennae and his eyes. "Argelius Two? Have you ever been?" Kohl asked.

"No I haven't but it sounds fascinating. Sorry I got you confused with a Human, but if it makes you feel any better I thought you were a very sexy human."

Inclining his head, Kohl said, "I take no affront at being thought a Human. ...Sexy or otherwise." Kohl pushed off from the bench and rose to his feet. He folded his uniform top on the bench and then moved to stand in front of Keval.

Keval stood to his feet as well. There were a few people wandering around them but they were focused on their workouts and weren't really paying the two any attention. He moved fractionally closer. The conversation was turning out to be interesting to say the least.

"I need to wear myself out," Kohl said, by way of explanation. "I'm transitioning from Alpha to Beta shift and I'm trying to change my sleep patterns. But then the Captain's call to duty stations got me all wired. Pola dismissed me from Sickbay, but I can't sleep yet..."

"Well swimming is only one way to wear yourself out. I enjoy it but I could think of other things maybe, I don't know 69 other things that would be more fun."

Kohl just stared at Keval, considering the other man's words. First, he made no attempt to hide the way his eyes trailed down and up Keval's tight blue body, and then Kohl began to loosen the front of his trousers. Kohl pursed his lips, and when his eyes met Keval's again, Kohl tonelessly said, "You're looking for fellatio?"

Keval watched the other man's lecherous gaze and returned it with one of his own." Well I as being facetious and a bit of a smart ass. I wasn't even sure you'd catch the reference.

It is however one of my favorite things to do. However since there are other crew members around, perhaps it would be prudent to adjourn to my cabin or yours.

Your preferably since you're an officer and yours is bigger. Well your room is bigger anyway."

As the stream of words coming from Keval turned to a river, Kohl only reacted by squaring his shoulders. Kohl narrowed his eyes on Keval, and he said, "Really though, let's take two steps back." Literally, Kohl stepped back two paces, but only so he could kick off his boots. "I came here for a swim. On Vega Colony, I was free to swim every morning, and now it's like an addiction. ...You know how that is, yeah?"

Keval grinned back at him. "Yeah, I do, so let's go for a swim." He tossed the tee-shirt on the bench leaving the shorts on for the moment. Had they been the only ones in the program he would have had no problems skinny dipping, as it was, with more and more people entering, he thought it would be a bad idea. At least for himself.

While Keval was distracted, Kohl took that opportunity to drop his pants. He worked through the slightly awkward struggle of tugging his way out of his fitted trousers and then his socks. Clad only in indigo box-cut briefs, Kohl lead the way towards the echoey sound of the gymnasium pool.

Keval paused slightly, the briefs perfectly outlining the other man's rather cute behind, before he turned and followed him back. As they passed into the gym he caught up with Kohl. "Last one in goes first," he suggested somewhat cryptically and began sprinting towards the water.

Emboldened by the knowledge that holodeck safety programs would use forcefields to soften any impact, Kohl broke out into a run towards the (probably) slippery pool deck. He flailed out a hand to give Keval a shove to the side, and he didn't look back as he ran for the water and dove in.

Keval landed unceremoniously, awkwardly but surprisingly gently on his shoulder at the edge of the pool. Keval was highly competitive and hated to lose at anything, but in this case he didn't consider losing quite as horrible as he would have normally.

Laughingly he called out "Cheater" as he jumped into the pool.

When Keval rose from the depths, Kohl was standing nearby, waiting for him. His hair was matted to his scalp and water was beading down his face. Smirking wickedly, he gave Keval another light shove in the shoulder with the flat of his palm. "Hey now," Kohl said, his tone a blend of mocking and defensive, "You never established any rules in the first place. That's your lesson for next time."

Keval's antennae had been curled all the way back to the top of his head. They slowly unfurled and were now standing erect. Water was sliding down his chest.

The two men were standing close, almost toe to toe and Keval grinned wickedly a the bigger pinkskin. He shoved back against his shoulder a bit harder than he had been shoved, but only slightly. At the same time his foot lanced out trying to sweep the man's feet from under him.

Kohl was unprepared for their rapid escalation from playful banter to aggression, but that wasn't to say Kohl found it unpleasant. As his footing gave out beneath him, Kohl sucked in a desperate, ragged breath. Instinct took hold of Kohl's body as soon as he felt the impact. Rather than fall in the direction Keval's kick was leading him, Kohl used the little leverage he had to hurl himself at Keval, taking the Andorian down with him. There was little skill to his tackle; mostly, Kohl relied on his greater height and broader frame coming down on the leaner man.

Keval's grin faded, though only slightly, he hadn't expected such a quick and effective response to his attack and was totally caught off guard. He fell backwards into the water Kohl's larger body pressed against his as they fell.

He took in a mouthful of water but was generally unhurt and Kohl's body against his, though there was very little pressure or weight because of the water was a rather pleasant sensation.

He was tempted to pull at the other man's short and 'pants' him, but since they were in a public place, simply shoved him the chest to move him.

Kohl had tried to hold Keval in place with his thighs, but the Andorian's shove sent him sideways through the water. Dizzyingly, Kohl's limbs flailed for a couple of panicked heartbeats. He couldn't remember which way was up, but the shallow water meant it didn't take long for Kohl's feet to slap against the floor. Kohl kicked off the ground to push himself into deeper waters. As he moved, he lifted his head up out of the water to breathe in.

Keval surfaced took some much needed air into his lungs, glanced around to spot Kohl and took off after him

Diving under the water, Kohl had oriented himself well enough to properly swim towards the deep end. When he would come up for air, Kohl glanced back over his shoulder to see if Koval was chasing him. As the other man closed the distance between them too quickly, Kohl kicked into his swim harder and his heart beat faster.

Keval was an excellent swimmer, he'd been doing it most of his life. If he pushed it he was probably faster than Kohl. If he pushed it. As it was, a game of cat and mouse, though it was limited by being in a pool was fun.

He had almost caught up with him, when he was surprised yet again as Kohl kicked it into a higher gear and moved away from him. They were in the deep end now where things could get more interesting. When they were almost at the far edge of the pool he managed to catch up to the medical officer. He reached out trying to grab his ankle.

As Kohl felt a firm grip close around his ankle, he cried out with a yelp that was inappropriately loud given the situation. Kohl writhed and flailed, trying to shake his way out of the seemingly-magnetic grip. He did manage to restrain himself from kicking at the Andorian's fingers, but the grunting struggle to escape left Kohl flipped over on his back near the surface of the water.

Keval released his grip but took advantage of the situation and slid his body on top of the doctor. He enjoyed the sensation as their flesh touched, and as their faces were only inches apart, he almost stole a kiss. He certainly thought about it, but in the in he decided not to. At least not quite yet. It was still early.

Instead, making sure that Kohl had actually had a chance to breath. Gave him a playful shove beneath the surface.

After dropping down beneath the surface, Kohl rose up again a couple of paces away from Keval. He rose up from the water headfirst, and he was paddling to keep afloat. He watched Keval with a new curiosity in his eyes. "Okay," Kohl said, "Maybe you win."

The Andorian grinned back at him. "Maybe we call it a draw. You're pretty damn good and we play well together. I like that."

With only his head above water, Kohl sank down and bobbed up again. "I'm called Andreus," he said.

"Keval," the Andorian stated. "What game would you like to play now?"

"Given the environment, I'm probably going to swim now," Kohl replied, his timbre playfully condescending. As he continued to work at staying afloat, he said, "But you and I, we're going to spar soon."

"Excellent. I'm very good at sparing. Don't let my size full you though. I usually wind up on top."

"You'll find," Kohl said, as he began to paddle away, "I don't underestimate anyone."

Keval grinned at him, not sure if Kohl was simply stating a fact about himself or if he was using a double entendre. "That's a good thing to know I'm going to swim a few laps then maybe we can talk more about the whole sparing things. He then began moving along side the doctor.

Kohl backed himself against one side of the pool and spread his arms out upon the deck. He leaned his head back and watched Keval with half-lidded eyes. And then when he fixed his gaze on the Andorian with far more intensity, Kohl remarked, "Race you."

Keval could not resist a challenge and when he reached the other man he said, "What is the prize this time"
