Application Received: USS Galileo - Verity Thorne

Verity rested back against the pillow as the application received message flashed on the screen. It was....he wasn't entirely sure what time in the middle of the night, but the room was dark apart from the padd.

Starfleet Medical wasn't exactly the best place for midnight entertainment. At least submitting his application was a decent use of his time.

He couldn't wait to leave the place. He had been assured that it most likely wouldn't be long before he was discharged now. He'd recovered a great deal since his illness had caused paralysis in some of his body. All he needed now was a little help from a walking cane.

But after so long in bed recovering from his illness, he'd had far too much time to think. His faith had been tested all over again, but not shaken.

His time on Galileo had been difficult, in the sense that he'd sometimes felt he wasn't truly of use there. His years as a Priest had been testing, but he had felt like he was useful. Being a Chaplain had never felt the same.

But he had grown fond of the people he had met on Galileo. And if anything, after so long confined to a bed in Medical, he felt the need to prove himself wrong on his previous feelings.

Being away from Earth for so long didn't put him off. On the contrary, after everything that had happened there in his earlier life, he was keen to be away again, especially after so long of being stuck there with his condition.

He let out a soft breath, chuckling weakly to himself as he slid the padd onto the bedside table to try and settle down. Now all he needed was to get his application approved, and he could get things back on track.
