“Mimi are you coming?” Tali said as she bounded into their room.

“What is it?” Mimi replied, she could hear a lot of activity in the colony grounds but didn’t know what was happening.

“The Klingons are coming down.” Tali said ecstatically, she and most of the colony knew of the Klingons but most of them had never met one before and now one of their ships had arrived in orbit and they were coming down to talk with them.

“Really?” Mimi flew off of her bed and found her shoes, slipping them on she followed her sister out the door. Looking out Mimi could see almost everyone gathering in the centre courtyard of the colony.

In shimmering red light five huge Klingons materialised in front of the crowd of Nekomi several of which gasps in amazement at the Klingons that appeared out of nowhere. They were huge, with broad shoulders and ugly looking ridges on their foreheads, all 5 of them carried what looked to Mimi to be weapons of some description.

She watched as Hikay the leader of the colony approached the Klingons flanked by two of the colonies volunteer enforcers; their stun rods hung off belts around their waists. Leaving the enforcers a few steps behind Hikay greeted the Klingons. “Selamat dia Kemi, welcome to Kemi.” He said using the very limited english he had gathered over time.

The lead Klingon stepped forwards, he towered over Hikay and he was one of the tallest Nekomi in the entire colony. He looked down at Hikay then at the enforcers and the crowd behind them, this was the only settlement his ships sensors had found on the planet, it was situated right next to a dilithium deposit stretching for miles in every direction, with what looked like only a hundred or so people in it they seemed like little threat and could easily be eliminated if needs be. “I am Kargek son of Gemrult. This planet is hereby claimed by the Klingon empire.” He said, his voice rough and loud enough for everyone to hear. “You are all now subjects of the Klingon empire and will give us all the dilithium you have and 90% of all the dilithium you mine from now on.”

There were a few murmurs from the crowd of Nekomi though most of them had no idea what the Klingon had said. Hikay looked up at the Klingon. “We do not….under..stand.”

Kargek growled slightly, clearly his universal translator was not working properly but the creature in front of him could talk some form of the terran language so he manually switched his translator to terran and dumbed his words down. “We want all your dilithium.”

“Dilithium.” Hikay replied. “Pay for dilithium.”

“If you do not give us your dilithium we will take it from you.” Kargek said raising his voice.

“You no pay, we no give.” Hikay said then turned away from Kargek and addressed the crowd. “These Klingons want the Dilithium we mine but will not pay for it, so I am refusing to….” The remaining words never left his mouth as the Bat’leth of the lead Klingon slammed into his back, blood fountained from the huge wound in Hikays back and he slumped to the floor. The two enforcers drew their stun rods and lept at the Klingon but had barely moved when they were repeatedly shot by the other Klingons, all five Klingons then opened fire on the crowd with their disruptors.
