Personal Log of Lt. jg Amynta Markos.

I am currently awaiting the USS Galileo to arrive. It is always strange to ger a new transfer. A science ship is even more strange to me, as I have never been on a Nova class before and I most certainly have never been on a science ship. However, I understand the need for intelligence officers on such a ship; the amount of valuable information that can be taken from a science vessel is enough to destroy some worlds.

So I believe this might be more of a counter-survelliance job more than anything. Make sure no one here are leaking any confidential information, keep an eye out for possible threats. I don't believe this posting will be too difficult. After all, no scuttlebutt has arrived about the Galileo being in trouble. It is merely a matter of waiting for the ship to arrive.

On a personal note, seeing Carus again has made me feel...very unsettled. It reminds me that I have emotional connections that might at some point compromise me. However, I also feel so damned proud of him that I don't care. He has grown into a good man. I hope he will forever remain untainted by this universe.

I am going to get some sleep now.
