Cyrus pulled up into his chair. Staring at the PADD he wracked his mind. He came into duty for Beta shift today, even though he wasn't needed. It was just wonderful to actually be in uniform again. His office was farther down, it wasn't as spacious, but it was enough. It was open windows, giving him a chance to overlook the other security personnel as they tended to their duties before his patrol rounds.

It had been two days since the reinstatement of his clearance and his return to the duty roster. Not only that, he had left a Master of Arms and returned as the head of a SPEC force security team that he was to form himself. It was almost surreal, but reality always seemed to bite back every now and again.

He leaned back in his chair and stared out the window for several moments. Obviously this was an olive branch, but as to why Stone suddenly changed his mind after being so confident of Kiwosk's guilt in all matters eluded the Chief.

"Either way..." Kiwosk told the empty office. "I have a team to assemble, and design..." What did he want this team to be? Combat oriented? It certainly have elements of marine training, that was why Stone wanted Kiwosk in charge of it, but if he could outsource to other departments, combat ready a couple of key NCO's from science and medical, and possibly engineering, he could well round the team into a first responders group.

He leaned forward, eyes now transfixed on the PADD before him as he brought al the possibilities to bear. "Maybe..." He started to himself. "Maybe if I can ask that flight officer...Dea...I think. Maybe she could run shuttle, or at least find someone equally qualified." He nodded to himself, a grin slowly creeping on to his young face.

A team of eight would be ideal: four from security, one from medical, one from science, one from engineering and a flight officer in cases of off ship concerns. The problem was where he would find them and how to approve it through Stone and finally through the Executive Officer or possibly the Commanding Officer. "Either way, Stone wants thing written up and sent to him, and the last thing I need to do is keep that man waiting for anything." He sighed and shook his head before starting to write.:

Subject: Formation of USS Galileo's Tactical Response Team (TRT)
Time: 1638 hrs
Summary:

Due to the past mission and by request of the Chief Security Officer, I have been tasked with the formation of a Tactical Response Team or a TRT that would act as first responders in case of emergency and, or heavy combat during the voyages of the Galileo. While on board most Science vessels, this would primarily be a marine oriented tasking, it falls onto Security to ensure the absolute safety of the vessel, the crew and all deemed fit to be in league with Starfleet.

I, CWO Kiwosk, request the forming one eight (8) man team comprised, primarily of Security personnel, but also one member of the following departments: Science, Medical and Engineering. Required combat training would be necessary for all members that would be supplied by myself...

Cyrus sat in wonder as he realized that he knew various combat drills and wepaons training, but he would need a higher degree of tactical evaluation and knowledge...there was only one man that he could think of that could fit that role...His old Marine Commander Ray Fernandez. Cyrus wondered what the Colonel would think after hearing about everything that had happened. The Fitzgerald wasn't far away...and he knew if he sent the request Ray would arrive...

...by myself and former Marine Commanding Officer Colonel Raymond G. Fernandez of the USS Fitzgerald. This would also require specialized armor and weaponry fitted and design according to the regulations of Starfleet. Furthermore, the eight man team, in accordance to additional combat training would be considered the first responders in cases of combat, security, breaches and dangerous ground team work. Each member would still be in working order with their respective departments and would hold no additional duties other than a timed and regulated training placed twice in a seven day cycle using the the Holodeck.

The TRT would in no manner hinder the operations of any department and would not be utilized unless in the forwarded circumstances. Only certain Officers would have the permissions to use the TRT in specialized circumstances. Those officers would be as follows: The Commanding Officer, the Executive Officer, the Second Officer and the Chief of Security. Any authorization of the TRT by any other member of the USS Galileo would need to be approved by one of the following officers in question.

I would request further detailing of the TRT by done between myself and you Lieutenant Stone as I'm sure you to have questions regarding the manner of recruitment and as this request would need to be approved by proper channels, it only seems fit that I ask for your expertise.

Cyrus reread the report before sending to Stone and relaxed. Hopefully there would be a response back soon. There were a couple of recruits that he could think of, both in and out of Security, but it would be convincing the other departments to permit the included combat trainings to take place, on top of the personnel request he would need to file in order to have Colonel Fernandez train the team and teach Cyrus the more complex manners of command. He wasn't just an NCO anymore, he was the NCO and he needed to be as prepared for the position than ever.

so he continued to sit at the desk for several hours before prepping himself for a patrol.
