Mission: Episode 17 - Crystal of Life
Location: USS Galileo-A - Bridge
Timeline: MD -181, 0205 hours

. . previously

Tris turned at the Conn after hearing his name to see Allyndra Warraquim in ‘all her glory’. The Andorian was speechless for a second as his mouth hung suspended in awe of what stood before him on the bridge. He finally put his thoughts together and replied, still a bit of a stutter, “Amazing, phenomenal, . . “ his lips opened and closed a couple times with no words before finally getting out, “breathtaking.”

Allyndra smiled and almost blushed if Akkadians could blush. "Thank you," she replied and then turned, but then paused and turned again. "Lieutenant, you have the con as well. Call me if anything, but for now the ship is yours."

“Yes ma’am,” Shizn replied calmly like accepting another isolinear chip out of thousands. But then, the realization of ‘Him’ being in charge of the ship. This was the ‘First Time’. He stated again with much more excitement and confidence, while his antenna went from a semi-relaxed position to both standing straight up. “Yes Ma’am ! “ His eyes were bright and he kept his mouth closed, so his giant smile wouldn’t show through too much.

Allyndra nodded and then turned again to head to the party.

. . and now the rest.

Tris watched the magnificent winged creature walk onto the turbolift and turn about, her wings filling the entire lift. He was curious why she had done that. He would defiantly need to ask her about that at a later time.

Lt. Shizn quickly called up a replacement Conn Officer.

Petty Officer Stephons arrived and Shizn rose from the seat taking a few steps back, standing in the middle of the bridge with a minimal crew, sometimes referred to as a skeleton crew. “Steady as she goes Stephons.”

Stephons had sat down confidently. He did not turn, but replied causally, “Aye Sir.”

Tris seemed confident in Stephons’ abilities, for the moment. Tris looked at the viewscreen, watching the stars streak past. A calm feeling came over him and he breathed deeply and relaxed. After a long moment he turned and took those few important steps toward the Captain’s chair. He looked at it thoughtfully for a second before turning and sitting down. There was no delay as he checked the screen displays on either side of him at the Command Chair. Everything was at acceptable levels.

He listened to the sounds of the bridge. They were just slightly different than those a couple meters forward at the Helm. He thought that the responsibility of the ship resting on his shoulders at the moment fit well. He felt he could definitely handle this, a milestone to say the least. Crisis mode? He began to say to himself, Now that would be a whole new project.

A bit of arrogance percolated up in his thoughts toward the Andorian Admiralty for what they had done to him. He cleared his mind back to the present, I’m not here for them. I’m here for me and how I can help these people.

Lt. Shizn looked again about the bridge of this Starship and then at the displays on either side of him. All systems shown in the green. He had confidence that the next few hours were going to be the best ‘boring hours’ he had ever had.
