Mission: Episode 11 - Divinum Mundi
Location: USS Galileo - Outside Holodeck 2
Timeline: MD4 - 1400Hrs

ON:

Warrant Officer 2nd Class Anthony Duval had traded a shift with one of his fellow Engineers as he wanted to work Alpha shift for one day and let one of his engineers get some extra rest. The last few days had been rather brutal with him getting a stint in sickbay for radiation poisoning. Now he was resting and off duty for a few days. Doctors orders.

Now he was standing outside holodeck two, as he tapped the display before him. "Program complete, you may enter when ready." the computer intoned as if passing judgement that he was pure and able to proceed through the gates.

"Thank you." he went over to the door before Ensign Lia Circe came around the corner. "Lia, What's up?" he paused. "One of the guys in engineering said there was a new program on the holodeck, it came down with the last update, something about a place called Gotham City... You doing anything at present?"

He was wearing a pair of trackpants and a sweatshirt, his normal off duty attire, except he was also wearing an Asian conical straw hat.

Lia was off duty herself, though still wearing her uniform, "Gotham City? I'm afraid I am not familiar with that program."

"That's alright... Neither am I." Duval responded. "A couple of the guys in engineering were ranting about it so... I figured I'd pay it a visit."

Lia nodded, "Well, I have no other plans for this evening..." she replied standing next to him. "Do I need to change before we enter or am I good like this?"

"Nah, what you're wearing is fine.." he smiled. "If worst comes to worst, we can use a holographic overlay." he added. "It'll be fun."

Lia smiled and then extended her hand, gesturing him forward. "Lead the way."

"Computer, Open the door to holodeck two." he commented, which obligingly parted on his command, he stepped into a world which looked alien to him. He looked around as the door closed behind then, then with a soft hiss, it vanished, fading into the environment behind them.

He looked down at his attire which had changed to something resembling a tuxedo and jacket. Lia looked like she was wearing a fancy dress.

Lia looked down at her new dress. It was simple yet elegant in design; onyx in color falling just short of her ankles with a matching shawl over her shoulders. She looked up at his three piece suite and smirked, "I take it we're going someplace fancy?"

Duval was unsure. "I guess so..." he noticed several people scattered around them who suddenly seemed to notice Duval himself and Lia next to him before they seemed to gather like bugs. "This is... different."

"Mister Wayne... Who's your date!" one of them asked Duval.

Duval had no idea who this mister Wayne was as he ignored the comments tossed at him and to a lesser degree Lia herself.

Lights flashed around them as their pictures were being taken by the various photographers that surround them. Lia glanced at Duval, "They think we're dating and you're Mr. Wayne." she commented, "is this part of the program? For you to play out this role?"

"I honestly have no idea." Duval answered as he slowly made his way towards the far end of the park but as they reached their destination, a rather nice looking limousine pulled up. Someone got out from the driver's seat before he came around, with direction and purpose. He nodded to Duval. "Did you and your date have a good evening Master Wayne?"

"It was... it was good.." Duval stammered softly. "The meal we had was enjoyable... these guys... not so much."

Alfred smiled. "Of course sir." he paused. "You however missed one appointment."

Duval was mystified. "I did?" he shared a look with Lia as he shrugged. "Oh well. I guess it wasn't that important."

Lia smirked and decided to play the part. She locked her arm with Duval's and playfully asked Alfred, "Alfred, does Mr. Wayne have any other appointments tonight, or do I have him all to myself for the rest of the evening?"

Alfred regarded her, a poker face on his visage. "No. Mister Wayne has no plans... He is all yours.... unless a workplace emergency comes up."

Lia turned to look at *Bruce,* "What you say, Bruce? Night out in the city, or a private evening at home?" She asked.

Anthony Duval or rather Bruce Wayne simply shrugged his shoulders. "I never liked those vultures.." he paused a moment as he regarded her. "A private evening at home sounds good to me." he responded a moment later.

Lia smirked and looked back to Alfred, "Well then, it seems we'll be heading home, Alfred." She turned to look back at Anthony, "Lead the way?"

Duval raised an eyebrow as he climbed into the limousine, he gently held out his hand to her to help steady her as she came into the limo.
"Alfred. Take us home please." as he closed the door behind her.

Lia relaxed in the seat and couldn't help the small smile appearing on her lips as she looked at Duval. "If this limo is any indication how well off this Bruce Wayne, I expect his home to be equally impressive. "

"Yes." Duval responded. "I expect then twenty minutes to be highly educational." he turned his attention from outside back to her. "What sucks... is that I have no idea of who this Bruce Wayne is." he added softly so Alfred would not hear.

Lia shrugged, "If it means anything, I'm not sure if I'm playing a role either...outside of Bruce's apparent date." She replied looking up at the limo's ceiling. "We could find out more about Bruce when we arrive at his home."

"Sounds like a good idea." Duval responded, taking note of where she's looking. "Do you hear something?" he added.

Meanwhile there was a soft booming laughter. "You are now taking your first steps towards a better world..." he chuckled softly. "Bring in the Russian.... Aww look... its Bruuice Whine... ehehehehahahaha." the shrouded figure turned as he stepped into the light, the first thing one noticed was his stupidly large grin. "Lets share our fun with Bruce Whine..." he pointed at the Limo, signaling the attack to start.

Lia frowned as her head snapped to Duval, "Do we have any weapons in this vehicle?"

Duval 's attention came back to her as he began looking around. "I doubt it." he admitted. "Alfred. We got company... We got any weapons in here?"

"No sir." The elderly english man replied like he was out for a stroll down the street, like the present situation did not matter at all on any level whatsoever.

"Aww lovely." Duval muttered.

Lia looked at Duval, "Please tell me you have a plan..."

"Nope." Duval raised an eyebrow. "I'll improvise something.." he shrugged as something landed on the limo itself as the limo skidded to a halt as Alfred tried to restart the limo, he failed somewhat dismally.

The top of the limo was generally ripped off of the limo as several of the Jokers henchmen piled onto Duval and Lia, quickly capturing the two of them.

"HAA HAA HAA.." Joker laughed at the two of them as Duval regarded him with a curious look. "Well I see the villains in this setting are interesting."

The Joker simply laughed at him.

Duval raised an eyebrow. "Unbelievable."

Lia didn't struggle as one of the clown's henchman pulled her arms back and began tying her wrists together. In fact, she was mesmerized by the clown himself. "What could possible be funny about an abduction?" Lia questioned.

"Oh.... Why so serious!" the Joker responded as he all but let Alfred leading Duval away. "Come sir..."

"But!" Duval protested as Alfred led him back to the remnants of the limousine. "We will come back... after you ..... change."

Duval stopped talking as he allowed the older gentleman to lead him away from the scene of the crime, the next little while was almost a blur as Duval ended up in Wayne Manor.

"I will hold your calls sir." Alfred led Duval over to a closed door under a set of stairs. "This way sir."

Duval followed in silence, he knew that this old man was far more then the plain and simple butler that he appeared to be, moments later they reached their destination. "Go on in sir... your gear is inside." as Alfred closed the door behind Duval.

Duval turned as a series of lights flicked on, revealing the 'armor' in question and for the first time in the last forty minutes, he smiled as he came face to face with the armor of Batman.

"Of course." he whispered.
---------

Lia found herself now sitting on a chair staring at the clown. "Are you wearing makeup or is your skin naturally that pale?"

The Joker regarded her. "Oh my dear.... you have no idea... haa haa haa.... do you!?"

"I'm new here...so no I don't know..." Lia replied, looking around as the other henchmen chuckled along with their master.

The top of the skyline suddenly shattered as a figure, all decked out in black with a cape came through, there was a soft whirring sound as two of the Jokers henchmen suddenly went down as Batman landed in front of the Joker.

"Why... Hello my dear, delusional knight!"

"I've come for the lady.." Duval's voice emerged from within the armor.

Lia watched with amazement as the masked figure appeared out of nowhere and started down the Joker. She immediately recognized the voice, "Thank god you're here!" she exclaimed.

Duval threw a throwing knife at the Joker as he backed away. "What'dya sneak in with you B..." the Joker rattled at him.

Duval growled. "You're head.."

Lia closed her eyes as the fighting ensured. She struggled with her restraints trying to break free to help Duval.

"Oh... My dear delusional Knight... After all this time in minutes... you've got a thing for me!"

"Not likely." Duval rumbled as he quickly drove joker off before being set upon by several of his henchmen. "Aww is this all." Duval rumbled, a rather evil smile on his face as he went into the fight.

Lia looked up as Duval quickly disposed of the henchmen and focused on the Joker. Suddenly, Lia caught one of the henchmen rising up and pulling out a weapon, "Duval, behind you!" Lia shouted.

Duval reacted instantly to her warning, spinning on opne fost before lashing out with his fist. The blow connected with the man's chin which snapped his head back but the trouble was, the force of the blow also went back to Duval as well.

Duval grunted in pain before he turned to find himself face to face, or rather face to battle of a gun. "Gotcha Bee.."

"Yeah... you did... Trouble is... I also... got you.!" and with that the Joker jumped as Duval punched him in the stomach, he quickly swatted aside the gun, right before it went off then Duval went for the throat.

He picked the Joker up by the throat as he growled. "I should Kill you for this. Clown Man!" Duval growled as he advanced on the Joker.

The Joker laughed at him right before Duval hauled off and punched him once then he shoved the man off the side of the ledge. Te Joker screamed. "I'll be in touch..." as he disappeared into the darkness.

Duval turned and went over to Lia. "Let me get that for you." before he began to untie her. "Are you injured?" he inquired as he worked, moments later she was freed. "We should go."

Lia stood up rubbing her freed wrists as she began to look over Duval. She looked up into his eyes and on instinct she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Lead the way....hero."

Duval made no move to stop her. "You sure you're okay?" he asked her softly as he looked down at her since she was a little shorter then he himself was.

Lia looked into his eyes. As if compelled by instincts she stood on her toes, and planted a soft kiss to Duval's lips. "I am now.' she whispered when she pulled back.

Duval gently kissed her back before he smiled down at her. "Alright... Come on... Lets go home." as he took her hand in his own. "This is ... an interesting program."

Lia squeezed his hand as she looked him over, "Indeed. You look good in that suit."

"I wasn't expecting it to fit me.... Or for me to even like it." Duval responded with a soft smile
