Mission: Episode 10 - Symposium
Location: USS Galileo Deck 3 Sickbay
Timeline: MD81 -1100Hrs

Warrant Officer 2nd Class Anthony Duval walked into sickbay, he wore the uniform well and while it wasn't tight as he tended to hate tight clothing it was comfortable. He looked around at the personnel who were working on various things.

Duval found himself looking at a rather unusual alien female. "Hello. I'm here for my coming aboard checkup." he explained why he was standing before her.

Allyndra was reviewing her presentation before heading on down and she had gotten into formal uniform as was required for the presenters and really for most of the attendee's as well.

She heard heard the doors and then someone sounding a bit commanding and sighed. Well there was nothing more to do for the presentation and right now she needed to think about others things. She got up and stepped out of the office. A man a bit over her height but well built as Lamar stood there. That brought a few pangs of thoughts since she had not talked to him for a bit and had sort of let slip her relationship. She would not have blamed him in one iota for moving on and certainly not after she had not said a thing about what happened in the mirror universe.

"Of course Chief. I can help you. If you would be so kind as to take a seat on biobed three here." She took a few steps and patted the bed closest to the office. "I am Allyndra. Here in sickbay I prefer not to use ranks."

"Fair enough." Duval responded. "I am Anthony Duval.." he responded with a soft smile.

"Pleased Anthony," Allyndra responded and again patted the biobed before ducking back into the office and retrieving a PaDD. It took her a minute to bring up his medical record. "My my it appears you have been in some nasty situations. It says here that you have refused treatment for some injuries, is that correct?"

"Wartime does things Doctor." he raised an eyebrow. "I see my exploits from the Dominion War are being remembered." Duval added by way of explanation. "I didn't have the time then because we were under fire and I was needed back at my post." he paused. "most of it is also regarding mental health... I tend to not get along with most counselors.."

"It would seem that is the case with many," Allyndra made that musical chuckle. "I have served in that capacity and having been on both sides of the couch or chair, I know what it is not to want to delve into the deep parts that one tucks away but also sometimes what good it can good when one does. Anyway, I much prefer to be here just making sure body is healthy. I will leave the mind shrinking as you humans call it to your Counseling check in."

She put the PaDD down for a moment. "Yes it does, wartime or situations. Believe me I was vivisected here in my own sickbay not that long ago. We learn to move on and push the painful memories away and hope for better. I am lucky though, my physical injuries heal completely. I just need to ascertain yours do not affect your function."

Duval raised an eyebrow. "I assume that was from your last mission... Its classified so nobody is talking about it... and I didn't ask about it either." he regarded the unusual looking woman before him. "Well... The people on this ship tend to be very friendly and get along." he rumbled.

Allyndra had not thought about that. She supposed that anything dealing with Mirror Universe incursions or vice versa was something that the higher ups did not want to deal with. She herself would have loved to learn more about the Akkadians there. "It is a small ship overall. Thus everyone tends to be in tight quarters and lots of interaction. One either gets used to things and others or one leaves. Now then, let me ask has your previous injuries resulted in any long term problems physically?"

"No." Duval answered. "To answer your question.... I've not had any serious issues with my various wounds." he rumbled. "There isn't much to do on ship... with a hundred people and two holodecks." he shrugged. "I guess I'll have to make do."

"Very good. Well, there is always something if one looks for it. Friends to make and even if it is nothing more then a drink or two, and a good conversation. Now then, let's get a scan in. Please lay back."

Allyndra got the scan started and while it was going she said, "While this is going I usually leave it open to tell me anything I should know or in turn if you have any questions for me."

Duval knew that every single doctor was different, some liked their patients to remove clothing while others did not. So rather then fight with her on the subject, he simply did as she asked him to do. "Tell me about yourself Doctor... your species.... I've never encountered one such as you before."

"I am Akkadian. We are an allied world not Federation members. The Council that handles the world's affairs tends to be slightly xenophobic and careful. Not too many are allowed on world, not too many are allowed off world. We are sexually trimorphic humanoid. Females such as myself, fertile males a bit more robust, and then there are the infertile males. They are much bigger and heavier boned. They take on the more manual labor jobs for the most part." She turned and pointed moving her hand. "Three hearts, one here, and two here and here," her hand going from the middle to the sides. "Main heart, and two what we call flight hearts." She made that odd shrug that caused the long gossamer wings to flutter. "The later to primarily supply oxygen to these, though now only females still have them. We are also heamatophagic, that is we get our nourishment from blood." Allyndra smiled that wide smile and displayed the sharp inner teeth. "Not to worry though I do not go around biting others and especially patients!" She laughed.

Duval raised an eyebrow as he smiled. "Well Doc... If you bite me... be warned.. I will bite you back.." he responded quietly as he grinned at her. "Your species sounds fascinating..." Duval added.

"Oh I would expect nothing less," Allyndra almost cooed the words. "It is what we do when we have......relations. You might even find it pleasurable." She laughed but it was light and with that musical tonality at the look on his face. "Not to fear, I think I still have a boyfriend. Now shall we get a DNA sample and then I can let you escape my clutches."

"You think?" Duval inquired. "Mmm... Fair enough I guess.." he regarded her with a jovial expression. "Not often I find a Doctor with a sense of humor.. I'm used to dealing with 'turn your head and cough." type drones... k'know what I mean?" he paused. "You are refreshing.."

"We have not talked in awhile," Allyndra said getting the sample kit. "Well here we go, if you don't mind, open wide so I can get a cheek swab please."

She quickly got the swab and put it in the vial, labeled it and then noted on the PaDD. "There you are medically officially checked in." Since it clearly said on his medical that he was human she extended a slim fingered hand.

"Welcome aboard Anthony."

Duval gently shook her hand with his own. "Thanks Allyndra." he responded. "Well go call the man... if he doesn't want you then I know of people who do." he rumbled.
