Location: USS Galileo - Duval & Darius's Quarters
Timeline: MD-81 - 1030Hrs

[ON]

Warrant Officer 2 Anthony Duval reached the quarters that were marked on the PADD in his hands as his new home, he had just come from the Admirals office and he had picked up his kit and gear that he had left with the quartermasters offices.

He he was going to meet his new roomie, this was something he was expecting to go poorly, he was half expecting a complete nutcase and half dreading it.

His combadge chirped at him. "Ops to Duval?." there was something not quite right about the voice.

Duval tapped the combadge afixed to his chest. "Go ahead?"

"You have an incoming subspace message, its marked personal."

"Lovely. Give me a few minutes." he responded with a soft sigh as he tapped the doorchime, he didn't know if the roommate was home or not so he wouldn't simply barge in as that would be downright rude, he didn't know if the man was busy with something or not. No. What was in order here was a little respect so he would show some.

"Yeah, come in!" called out Lamar in a deep voice as he exited the sonic shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. He had just returned to Galileo after spending time with his new Andorian lady friend aboard her regal starship, and now found himself back in his quarters getting cleaned up and ready to head down to the shuttlebay for a series of quick inspections.

The door opened and in walked Anthony Duval. "Hey." he regarded the other guy wearing naught but a towel around his waist. "I'm Anthony Duval. You're new roommate." he introduced himself. "I thought it best to knock rather then just barge right in."

Lamar took note of the new addition to his quarters. The man looked to be about the same height and build as him, and perhaps of a similar age. It was eerily creepy, but in a good way.

"Lamar Darius, chief support craft pilot," he introduced himself while walking forward and extending his large hand for the man to shake. Visible on Lamar's torso and upper arms were various SFMC tattoos -- a reminder of his time served in the Corps before transferring to the Fleet. "Good to meet you, Duval," he added.

Duval gently shook the other mans's hand. "You too Darius." he gave the man the once over. "Its good to meet a man from the corps.." he responded quietly.

"Thanks." Lamar went to his dresser to begin to dig for a new and freshly folded uniform. He then glanced over his shoulder after forgetting to welcome the man to the room. "Well welcome aboard. Our room isn't much to look at. I got bottom bunk of course, but you can take top and put up any decorations you want. I mean, as long as it fits in here. Don't want to hit my head on a chandelier or something in the middle of the night when I'm making a head call," he chuckled.

Duval chuckled softly. "Fair enough... " he responded. "though... I don't have any decorations.... Oh except the large crystal chandelier which I'm gonna put up in the main room tomorrow. It should have arrived from the starbase by then." Duval smiled.

"Better hope you don't ride in a shuttle with me, then," Lamar jested in return with a light smirk while he pulled on a pair of pants and a fresh uniform. "So are you Security? Or Operations?" he then asked of his new gold-collared roommate.

"Neither. I'm engineering." Duval answered. "I fix what everyone else breaks..." as Duval took a quick moment to note where everything was while Lamar dressed. "Also.. I don't snore."

"Who told you that? The ex-wife?" Lamar replied as he pulled on his fresh uniform jacket over his red undershirt.

Duval raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know you were married.." he responded, confusion clear in his tone. "Wait.. what?"

Lamar shook his head and smirked to himself. "Nevermind." It wasn't the type of joke that really benefited from clarification, and so he dismissed it and moved on with the brief chat. "So how'd you get assigned to the Gal?"

"I was more that they needed extra hands and I was between assignments.. I was on the Tempest when we found you." Duval rumbled.

Just then the com beeped. "Operations to Duval?. Sir.. we still got that call for you."

Duval sighed as he frowned, he gently tapped his combadge. "Operations... Thank you... for the reminder. I will tend to whatever the Admiral wants this time."

The pause was almost amusing. "Ummm How did you know an Admiral was calling you."

Duval sighed dramatically. "I'm just that dammed good.. Thank you Ops... I will handle the Admiral. Duval out." before he turned back to Darius. "The Admiral in question... is my mother.. This will only take a moment."

Confused after hearing the conversation that just took place, Lamar raised his eyebrows then turn back towards tending to his duty shift preparation. "Son of an admiral and you're not an officer? Your ma probably isn't happy," he said over his shoulder. These weren't officer's quarters, after all.

Duval shrugged. "I preferred to follow my own path. Mom had her own issues and I felt I could get there on my own... Besides. I didn't want to be an officer. She never liked that.. but... thats not my problem."

"I never wanted to be a pencil-pusher either," remarked Darius who was in agreement with that sentiment. "Hell, even now as a warrant I'm responsible for training a couple flyboy cadets. Well, flyboy and flygirl, actually," he chuckled. Strangely, he actually liked both Wintrow and Abbey. They seemed ambitious and willing to learn, and not overly cocky as he assumed they would be.

Duval nodded his head. "Yeah. I prefer to work for a living." he rumbled. "Tell me these two cadets actually have some semblance of intelligence and are more then just piss and wind?"

Nodding to himself, Lamar was able to confirm this for the first trainee. The second was relatively new to the ship and he hadn't spent much time with her yet. "Wintrow's got a decent grasp on flying. He gets it -- the spacial awareness and theory of space flight, but he needs a bit of work on his procedures and checklists. Can't say much for the other one, Abbey, she just transferred into the department."

Duval nodded. "Fair enough... Well.. I'd better take this call before the Admiral tries to demote me." he sighed. "Sorry Lamar..." he added.

Now finished getting dressed, Lamar was ready to depart and leave his new roommate on his own for the remainder of the shift. "Okay. I'll be back at the end of Beta shift. Just don't...break anything while I'm gone." Not that there was much to break, for the quarters were rather spare. The door swished open then closed and the chief warrant officer was now gone.

Duval smiled. 'I never break other people's stuff... Not my way' the thought crossed his mind while he sat down and tapped the display before him. "Ops, Duval... go ahead and pipe the Admirals call down here."
