Mission: Episode 07 - Sojourn
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 2, Abbey Wyatt's Quarters
Timeline: MD-10, 2245 Hrs

ON:

Abbey stared up at her ceiling the half empty tub of ice balancing cleverly on her forehead the spoon had been thrown to the wall on Jacobs side of the room earlier on in another outrage, the word Jerk came to mind. Sighing she counted to ten one again for what must have been the hundredth time, even when she had began counting elephants she found it becoming annoying and quickly turned them into pink fluffy oliphants with a rabbit tail and butterfly wings and a cute top hat which had a eagle feather in. Yeah she was going crazy.

One of the things that was nice at the moment was the fact Elijah could walk through the corridors of the Galileo once again without wading through or stepping on a Tribble. He was on his way to Abbey's quarters and he carried a tray that had some sandwiches, chips and some cookies on it. He knew that Abbey was feeling better but he thought it would be nice to bring a tray of food to her.

Once at her quarters, he balanced the tray on the palm of his right hand and reached out with his left and pressed the chime.

Abbey not moving prayed to god it wasnt Jacob... Anyone but him but then she thought why would he not just enter unless he thought she was ready to throw more objects at him. "Come in" She said wiping the bottom of her eyes and dabbing them with the tissue which had been crumpled and thrown on the desk.

The doors parted and Elijah stepped in, a smile on his face. "Hi Ab..." he looked at the young woman and his words stopped dead. He slid the tray onto the desk and moved to wear Abbey was laying. "Abbey? What's wrong? Are you hurt? In pain?" He was starting to panic as all these horrible scenarios began to prance around in his head.

Abbey sat up forgetting about the ice cream which now laid on the floor covering the carpet Shit she thought before turning to Elijah who look ready to have a heart attack. "I'm fine Elijah just - boy trouble" She eyed Jacobs bed indicating which 'boy' she was meaning. "Its nice to see you here" She added enveloping him in a hug.

"Ah, I see," he said as he looked to the indicated bunk before wrapping his arms around Abbey. He held her for a long while, letting the moments tick by. "Do you wanna talk about it?" he asked in a hushed tone.

She shook her head finding the space between his neck and shoulders, placing her head neatly into the indent "No, I kind of just want to forget about it for now" If there was someone she felt totally at ease with it was Elijah. Some would see what they were doing as intimate and perhaps it was but to her it was normal and relaxing. "How was your day?" She asked from within the hug.

"Tribble free," Elijah said. "Mostly okay," he added. He hated seeing Abbey in pain, first the accident then this, it didn't seem like she could catch a break. He felt really bad for her and his heart ached for her. "Do you think you are up to eating? I brought some food."

Abbey's eye shone like ruby's at the mention of food as she pulled her face away from a now damp neck. "Oh you're amazing you know that right!"" She said pulling him in and kissing him on the cheek. Though she had eaten half a tub of mint chocolate chip icea-cream she could eat so much more.

"Well it's not much," Elijah smiled as he lifted himself up from the bed and retrieved the tray. He pulled the lid off to reveal the turkey and cheese sandwiches the plain potato chips and the chocolate chip cookies. He picked up the tray and brought it back to Abbey and set it gingerly onto the bed. He sat on the bed, kicked off his shoes and pulled his legs up to sit cross legged. "Besides that," he nodded toward the other bunk, "Are things going okay?"

Abbey had to slow herself from eating all the chocolate cookies yummy she thought giddily to herself she could get used to these late night munch sessions with Elijah. "Besides living with THE biggest jerk from here to the Delta Quadrant sure, I still ache though when I walk around but it's better than laying around all day..." She caught what she just said and giggled "I don't think I would ever say that in my lifetime! I'm a changed woman Elijah!" His name rolled of her tongue gracefully.

He took a bite of the sandwich and chewed. "You had a life changing experience, I would have been surprised if you hadn't changed," he said. He shrugged. "I love you all the same," this time he smiled.

Love that word felt heavy on Abbeys heart and she beat back another wave of tears as she picked up another cookie "You know what I think we need?" She didn't wait for his answer as she kneeled down on the floor and brought forth a bottle of wine. "Perfect!" She said moving back to the bed. "Yay or nay?" She asked waving the bottle in front of him.

His eyes followed the bottle for a few moments before deciding his answer. "Sure, why the hell not." He thought about the last time he shared wine with Abbey, Andreus was there too. He got buzzed and opened up far more than he had expected and admitted things he wouldn't have normally admitted. "It's definitely deserved."

Abbey smiled as she was once again whizzing around the room only returning this time with two glasses and filled them up, fully before handing one glass to Elijah "A toast?" She asked.

Before he knew it, a wine glass - that was completely full - had been handed to him. "Sure," he raised the glass up and he fell silent as he thought about what to say. "Here is to a new lease on life."

"And to new adventures!" She added giddshly before sipping... Gulping her drink "I really enjoy the time we spend together Elijah you make me feel -" she stopped biting her lip trying to thin of the word.

Elijah smiled and sipped at the wine. It had a nice after taste, something he could easily keep drinking. He watched Abbey for a moment, especially after she fell silent. "I enjoy spending time with you as well Abbey, you make me feel confident. You are a true test of strength and courage."

She chuckled "I am debating whether to take that a good thing or a bad thing Elijah" She said finishing her glass watching him over it curiously before filling herself up.

"It's a good thing Abbey," Elijah said as he went from sipping the wine to practically chugging the dark liquid. He drained the glass and held it out for more. Not being much of a drinker, he could feel the buzz already working it's way to his head.

"I like this Elijah he's daring and fun" Not that he wasn't anything but fun she added thinking to herself as she poured the bottle and filled the glasses again and placing the almost empty wine bottle on the desk.

Elijah smiled. "I like the daring and fun Elijah too," he said and smirked as he took another gulp of the wine. He looked down at the plate a food and this time picked up a cookie and took a large bite and chewed. "So many years I lived in fear or repressed emotions. I can be free here."

Abbey felt a little bit of her heart fall away as she drank her wine watching him staring tentatively Into those eyes. "The ship or with me?" She asked curiously her stomach feeling lightly and bubbly.

"You Abbey," Elijah said. "When you wear a Starfleet uniform, when you serve on a Starfleet vessel you aren't truly free. You are bound to regulations and protocol and orders. Even rank is a cage." He shrugged as his eyes fell onto the wine that was in the glass still. He watched it intently then looked back up to Abbey. "With you Abbey, I can be free of all that, free to be myself . I don't have to worry about your judging me or giving me an order or whatever."

"Elijah" Abbey started her stomach doing that extremely inappropriate fluttering effect as if the floor had been pulled from out underneath her and she was falling. Reaching over she placed a hand on his cheek and hugging him her lips tingling as she breathed down the back of his neck. Pulling back she looked him in the eyes and smiled they, were only a heartbeat apart now and that's what abbey loved about Elijah. How he made her feel comfort panel and relaxed to. "That's the nicest and sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me"

Elijah smiled. Though he believed Abbey when she said that, he did find it believe that someone hadn't ever said anything nicer. She had a big heart she was caring and compassionate, at least that is how he saw her. Maybe others didn't see things the way he did. "I mean every word of it Abbey."

Her stomach done that uncontrollable fluttering it always did when she was around him and having one of these moments With Elijah. They stared at each other Abbey gazing into her eyes for what seemed a lifetime before she broke the contact and sighed "sooo" she said her cheeks flushing a red the alcohol was deffinetly effecting the fact she was swaying slightly side to side as if she was on a boat.

"Soooo," Elijah nodded. He noticed the slight swaying and reached out and grabbed Abbey to keep her steady. That was just as much for her sake as it was his, it made him nauseated. "Can I spend the night," he blurted out and after the words left his mouth he almost regretted it. "I mean, not like you know, just be here... maybe it will feel a little less lonely."

"Yes" she had blurted out covering her mouth with her free hand as he continued to speak. "Id like that... A lot" she giggles and stood up scooping the ice cream pot of the floor and then turned to pick up the tray. "You can the wall side" she said with a smile as she slowly made her way to the recycler.

"Works for me," Elijah said. He stood and it hit him as he did so that this sleeping over on the fly presented a problem. "I don't have pajamas." His pjs only consisted of either just his Starfleet issued underwear or a tank tee and shorts.

Abbey froze thinking for a moment "I don't think there is a problem... Just wear you boxery things unless you know... you go commando in which case... Yucko!" She smiled. "Its not like were naked!" She added.

"Boxery thing?" Elijah rolled his eyes but laughed. He unsnapped his jeans, lowered the zip and pushed down the denim and pulled them off and folded them up. He pointed to the dark gray boxer briefs. "The best Starfleet has to offer."

Abbey felt the warmth surge inside her cheeks and wondered if she looked like a glowing lantern. "Yay Starfleet" She said in an excited voice and smiled trying to avert her eyes from the tight briefs. 'Get a grip' She told herself. After all it was just Elijah.

Elijah reached for the hem of his tee but then thought better of it.

Quickly leaving and closing the door to the toilet she changed as fast as she could without falling over though magaing to knock a few things of the sink. Now changed she looked herself in the mirror a hand straddling either side of the sink. "Ok" She huffed out a large breath and exited wearing a pair of purple satin shorts and a grey shirt with 'Be NErDy' Represented by elements in the periodic table; Be for Beryllium, N for Nitrogen, Er for erbium and finally Dy for Dysprosium.

When Elijah saw Abbey, saw the shirt he broke into a big grin and then started to laugh. "That t-shirt is brilliant, where in the world did you get that?"

Abbey smiled at that gesturing toward the bed "I picked it up the last time I was on earth, I was at a science convention and this little beauty caught my eye! I am glad you like it" She pulled back her covers and got into the bed. She shifted over and patted the empty space. "I don't bite... Much" she teased with another gentle smile.

Elijah laughed and crawled in. He assumed that any other time this would have been odd and awkward for him but with Abbey it was different. "If I snore, just hit me," he said as he stretched out.

The bed was just big enough for both of them but there was no way out of some part of their bodies touching, the feeling comforted her warmly, perhaps she would be able to sleep tonight. "Don't worry I will" She replied as she hesitated as the covers fell back into place over them. She Soon found herself resting her head comfortably on his chest and neatly tucked under his chin. Her left arm outstretched over his stomach and her knee just resting on his thigh. Taking in his scent she let out a soft moan. All the pain of the day and Jacob and everything which weighed heavily on her shoulder was being stripped away leaving just herself again. Just Abbey and Elijah.

Elijah wrapped his left arm around Abbey and settled in. "Computer, lower lights completely," he called out. He gave Abbey a soft kiss on the top of her head and said, "Good night."
