Mission: Episode 07 - Sojourn
Location: USS Galileo, Deck 3, Hallway
Timeline: MD -01 15.00 hours

ON:

Mug of coffee in hand, Zuwtt was making his way towards engineering, whistling a tune as he walked through the corridors, when something caught his fancy. A wide grin appeared on his face as his eyes made contact with the attractive woman passing by. He immediately recognized her, or at least her likeness, and as she passed by, he turned to admire her curves.

"Hello, Jaana," he called out. The woman stopped in place. "You want to know something? I always thought you were the pretty one."

Jaana had seen him as she passed him, but had hoped he would continue. When he spoke to her she turned, face set on very angry. She took a few steps back to him and hit him hard in the face with her fist. Immediately turning around again, she continued on her path.

"Ow!" exclaimed Zuwtt, pressing one hand against his lip. Blue liquid stained his finger. Wiping it off onto his pants, he resumed his pursuit, swiftly jogging to catch up with hey. "Hey, come on," he said, grabbing her by the arm. "Can't you take a compliment?"

"Nothing coming from your mouth is a compliment" she hissed.

Zuwtt sighed. "Look, Jaana, I don't know what Tuula told you about me, but I'm not that bad of a guy." He bit his lip, trying to control the bleeding.

She looked at him stunned. "You are the worst there is when it comes to guys."

"Admittedly, I'm not always a perfect Mr. Right, but who is?" he asked rhetorically. In truth, he was far from perfect. "Jaana, I've been trying to talk to Tuula since she came on board. Please, can you help me?"

"No" she said firmly. "She has her reasons for not talking to you and I stand behind her fully. I'm going to allow you to break her heart again."

"Break her heart..." Zuwtt trailed off. "Jaana, she left me. I know I wasn't always perfect, but she broke my heart when she left. I loved her, and she was going to be the mother of my child, and then all of the sudden it was all gone. How do you think I felt after that?"

At that remark Jaana turned white. "child?" she said with a small voice. She quickly switched to angry. "What kind of sick joke is this? My sister was never pregnant. Don't you think I would have known if she were? She is my twin sister!"

"You mean, she never told you?!" exclaimed Zuwtt, incredulously. "But I thought... I mean... how... what?..." He was at a total loss for words. He was hoping that Jaana might be able to give him some answers, but if she didn't even know, that only raised further questions.

Jaana noticed that people were staring at them. They needed to go somewhere where they could talk. Jaana may hate the guy, but apparently he had some answers for her which could explain some things about her sister that never made any sense. After they had found a office that was empty she said "Ok, talk."

"I... I... I don't know what to say." For the first time in his life, the Bolian was speechless, leaning against the wall, one hand on his head. "She was carrying my child when she left me." He let out a deep breath. "I never knew what happened to her. Or to the child. That's why I've been trying to talk to her. I was hoping you could help me, but..." he shook his head in disbelief. "How can this be?"

Jaana took a seat that was near a terminal. "I don't understand. She was devastated when you broke up, but I,.." she sighed. "I saw her a lot in that time, I had just finished the academy and was working in San Francisco. I would have seen it if she was pregnant."

"Well, she was," he replied, matter-of-factly. He rubbed his temples, trying to think of a possible explanation. "Is it possible that she lost the child? A miscarriage, perhaps?"

"She must have, mustn't she?" Jaana thought out loud. She couldn't understand it. No matter how and why they broke up, if there was a baby involved... "But if she broke up with you, then why did she make me believe you broke up with her?"

"I can't explain that," replied Zuwtt. "I don't know about anything that happened after she left. But you should talk to her. I know she doesn't want to talk to me."

Jaana thought for a moment. Then made a decision that she knew would make her sister furious. she pressed her combadge. =/\=Jaana to Tuula, =/\= she signaled Zuwtt to be silent. =/\=Tuula, when do you get off duty? I need to discuss something with you!=/\=

=/\=1700 hours=/\= replied Tuula. She took out a deep breath, thinking of Luke's words from the day before. =/\=I also have something to talk to you about.=/\=

=/\=Ok, I see you then in our quarters.=/\= Jaana said.
