"Keep them coming..." Aria Rice smiled as she lent closer, her eyes shining. She wore civilian clothes...mini skirt, black leggings, high heels and a corset top, as well as the fingerless elbow gloves with the skulls on. She sipped her drink, some purple cocktail that looked deadly, before reaching for the jalapeno poppers, moaning as she bit into one of them, the explosion of cheese and grease and heat feeling like heaven.
Luke walked in rubbing his eyes with his free hand whilst the other held his jacket, spotting aria across the empty room he yawned and began to approach her. She was wearing something he was not particularly clear what it was but shrugged of the look thinking it was unique and somewhat interesting. Sitting down next to her "Late night?" He asked before turning and ordering a drink for himself and some pork scratching's.
She smiled as she nodded, her eyes gentle. "Getting used to a new shift," she admitted, offering the bowl to him. "Try these, they're dead hot but so addictive!"
"Me to, who knew 24hrs was an actual damn shit" Luke eyed the content of bowl and smiled, picking up one the bites he breathed in and chucked it into his mouth. Everything seemed fine until his mouth exploded with a fiery taste swallowing hard, he opened his mouth and waved air in using his hands. Before the bar tend put down his drink he had gulped down the while pint glass and sat back tensing to his mouth "What... Was... That!" He asked between wheezy breathes.
"Either jalapeno or scotch bonnet..." Aria said as she considered it, taking one for herself. "You not used to spicy stuff, Wyatt?" she bit down, the burn hitting her and she closed her eyes. She loved the pain of the burn too. She was becoming a bit of a chilli head.
Shaking his head as he opened his packet of pork scratching's "As it turns out actually no I'm not but putting that aside why would you eat that kind of things this time of night?"
She sipped her cocktail before shrugging, her eyes gentle. "Because I like to eat. And I like nice things."
"I guess I can not argue with that faultless logic but that is not nice" he teased showing his now half empty bag of pork "Now these, these little crispy bites of sunshine are beautiful!" Pork scratching's were Luke's secret obsession.
"Not quite as good as proper crackling though," she breathed, her eyes shining. "Just saying. But they are salty pieces of goodness!" She watched the bag before reaching out and quickly grabbing one, eating it before he could stop her. "Mmm!"
"Hey!" Luke snorted as he watched one of his precious pork bites disappears "What was that you said about getting my revenge and putting you in the brig? I'm sure I can think if something" he teased.
"If you are going to arrest me for stealing stuff, let me steal half the bar first," she teased, sipping her drink as she held his eyes. "You look good, Wyatt."
Luke smiled with a shrug "Well you should see me before I do a 12 hour shift! But it takes alot of effort to look this great" he brought up his right arm and flexed before chuckling. "You don't look bad your self Aria" he returned the compliment.
"I agree with that," she said and gestured towards herself. "I did good. I feel good too which helps." She looked around for a moment and then leant close. "People seem really tense though and I doubt it is just the tribbles. I found some in my underwear drawer..."
Luke laughed quietly "I can imagine that putting people on edge do I need to come and make sure they're not anywhere else!" He joked before leaning back "I expect the tense feeling you're getting is a result from the mines, a lot of rumors going around about ghosts and what not ontop of that working with the cardassians have everyone rattled"
"Cardassians..." she said and smiled to herself at the thought of it. And the entire situation. "Now they're fascinating. In the sort of slimey and very intelligent sort of way. So really? Haunted mine? Seriously?"
"I must admit the cardassians are a fascinating species and in the mind of a military man quiet clever." He nodded as of to agree with himself "My thoughts exactly, on the haunted front but this crew is clearly the supernatural type. I can count on you not to freak out right?" He laughed.
Aria gestured to herself with a small chuckle. "Have you seen moi? If I met a ghost I'd be more likely trying to chat to it than run away. Pretty awesome though, the whole haunted mine thing. Sounds like a good little holonovel gone terribly tits up, huh?" she winked, sipping her drink easily.
"It's quiet hard to miss you Aria!" He said digesting the rest of what she said "it would be a pretty fun holonovel though don't you think? Man I think actually like the idea of going back down there! There's nothing better than a good horror mystery!"
"Should bring me along next time..." she said, reaching for the last of her snack. She sighed and ate it, closing her eyes with a soft sigh. "Mmm..."
Luke nodded in agreement "I could do with an experienced security officer and I think we're not taking nearly enough especially after last time!" He put down his drink and empty packet "I could almost say I missed your aria!" Luke smiled.
"Could say? Could say?!" Aria laughed and hit his arm. "Bleedin' hell, man! You should be praising Jesus and stuff for having me here..." she winked, her eyes gentle. "I deserve more than an almost anyway."
Luke laughed "Fine fine! I am ecstatic that's you're back, I just didn't want to sound to soppy!" He winked catching her eyes and smiling, a not to familiar feeling creeping up his spine "That hurt" he joked rubbing his arm.
She chuckled and leant to hug him, tightly. "Aw, that's okay my big teddy bear! I just like feeling all appreciated, bossman!" she pulled back slowly, patting his arm. "We all cool then?"
"Of course we're cool Aria" he smiled before frowning "just two things... One I'm not a teddy bear and secondly it's just luke nothing more nothing less or I'll start calling your princess!" He warned.
"Hey, I am considered a princess by many," she said playfully with shining eyes. "So you just have to deal with me calling you all sorts. Teddy bear. Just look at you, all strong and cuddly!"
The very thought made him cringe "Oh god no! I may have to die by suffer cation of tribbles!" He laughed "Buuuut if you want to see how soft and cuddly I could be!" He joked, rolling his eyes as he finished of his second drink.
"Yeah right..." she said and smiled, poking his chest. "Come on, I know how your eyes linger at some women. Teddy bear for some, huh?" she winked, motioning for another drink. "Not that I mind, I've never been one for relationships. Love is great if you can find it, but I prefer freedom."
Luke shrugged of the comment "Well I can't seen to find anyone on this ship looking for anything like that, not that I'm actively seeking. I'm getting old you see" he laughed signalling for another drink for himself.
"Well, just don't become a Casanova...." she said and bit her lip. "But you are a bit of a good old-fashioned lover boy, aren't you? Gentleman."
"What's that supposed to mean!" He asked taking it a little bit like a insult but washed it over with a smile.
"Nothing bad! It's...you know, you take your time to chat to girls," Aria pointed out and smiled. "And you flirt a bit, but in a gentlemanly way."
Luke frowned "So I should not speak to girls as much and act less gentlemanly?" He asked now joking but hoped his continued frown would make her beleive he was asking a serious question.
"No..." she said and smiled, shaking her head. "Well, actually, Klingons are so in this year. So maybe their courting technique, huh?" she said, teasingly, her eyes shining.
Luke seemed to digest the information and have a wry grin "Klingon huh? And what do you like?" He ventures his grin growing ever so slightly in its angle.
"Me?" Aria asked as she looked at him, with some surprise that he'd even ask. "I...I don't know. I like different things at different times. Complicated that way..."
Luke couldn't help but laugh at her surprise, the desired effect "Like all woman then?" He teased with a pause "I have a friend, he is deeply passionate about this woman but she has had a troublesome past with men and is keen to keep him just a friend. He is happy with it but can't help but wish she'd give him the chance. What would you suggest to him?"
She looked at him for a moment before biting her lip. "I am really not good at those things. I'd say...If she doesn't want him, he needs to stay her friend but back off advances. But like I said, I am really not good with stuff like that."
He shrugged "I've told him the same thing" He admitted standing up "Well I must be off, I've got a few things to do ts been nice spending time with you again Aria" Luke smiled as he put a hand on her shoulder.
"Nice seeing you too," she said as she held his eyes before offering her fist to him. "Don't leave me hanging..."
Luke chuckled as he met her fist with his own. "I can't say I've done that in a while... among other things" He joked, winking before turning and making his way out of the bar humming to himself.
