Mission: Episode 06 - Legend of Souls
Location: USS Galileo: Deck 3 - Sickbay
Timeline: MD07 - 0740

ON:

Ensign Aria Rice smiled to herself as she walked down the familiar corridors of the USS Galileo. She was back. Hell, she was proper back too. She felt like dancing. Her hair was straightened, the red streaks against the dark standing out. With her not quite issue at all boots and the fact she had dared to leave her uniform jacket behind showed one thing: Aria was off duty. She wasn't quite ready to put on the civvies, but hey...let her hair down a bit. She had just come off the shuttle anyway.

She smiled as she looked around sickbay, humming to herself before reaching to tap a nurse on the shoulder. '"Scue me...Ensign Rice, got a medical check up all clear hello and goodbye scheduled?" she asked, with a warm smile.

"I'll take care of her," called out Tuula as she rolled out into the lobby. Allyndra followed; with Tuula being just a resident, she was ultimately responsible for supervising her. "Ensign Rice, is it?" asked Tuula, remembering the name from the schedule. "Come in; have a seat on the biobed, while I pull your file."

Aria nodded, moving to the biobed and jumping up on it, her feet kicking lightly. "You won't find anything too interesting there," she said lightly. "Don't seem to get much wrong with me."

"I hope not," replied Tuula before retreating to the office to pull up the patient's medical file. It was a rather mundane affair; nothing out of the ordinary and nothing more serious than a broken bone or two over the years.

Allyndra followed but stayed a respectful distance back. This was Tuula's show and she was more interested on observing. Besides, there was always things she might learn from another doctor.

Tuula emerged from the office and made a beeline towards the biobed. More specifically, the height controls on the side of the bed. "So, have you been having any problems lately? Aches, pains, anything that might be a symptom of something?"

Aria glanced at her for a moment, with some surprise that the doctor was fiddling with the biobed. "Err...nope, I feel fine," she admitted, with a chuckle. "Sleep well, eat well and all that. No aches and pains. Occasional bruise here and there but I work security....sort of black and blue is part of the underneath uniform thing..."

"Of course," replied Tuula, nodding along as she got the biobed to just the right height. "That's good, keeping fit and eating healthy is important." She turned to get a medical tricorder, her hair swooshing to the side, for a brief moment exposing the tattoo on the back of her neck.

Allyndra had stayed out of the way but while Tuula worked the height controls she introduced herself. "I should introduce myself I am Allyndra the chief medical officer and Doctor Voutlainen is one of our new doctors that I am very pleased to have on board. Your lucky young lady that I stuck around otherwise be covered in tribbles. They don't like Akkadians."

Aria smiled weakly, frowning the moment the biobed sank down before catching herself. "Ah. Well, tribbles are...err...okay, they're weird. Not entirely sure what happened with them and all that..." she shrugged, looking at Allyndra. "I remember you, ma'am. Never met but I remember you. You're newer though," she looked at Tuula, with a small smile.

"Yes, I just came aboard yesterday," replied Tuula as she pulled out her medical tricorder. She took a moment to check the calibration before beginning her scans. "I like your boots," she said as she waved the tricorder over Aria. "I have a pair just like those."

Aria looked at her boots, letting out a breath. "Oh..." she said, her voice soft with that awkward moment of...well, what do you say to that? "I...well, I got them ages ago. Ordered from Earth, had a four month waiting list..." she chucked and crossed her legs. "Love how they make me feel. I mean, when I got them I was so jealous of my feet!"

"Yes..." Tuula glanced down at her legs for a moment. Aria was able to cross her legs and show of her boots, while hers were just... there. "I have a whole closet full in my quarters; fortunately my roommate doesn't mind. Are you settling in well?" she asked, changing the subject back to the patient as she continued her scans.

"Sort of just came here," Aria admitted with a small smile. Quarters...still not found, but she knew she was going to b extremely busy anyway. Sleep was overrated.

"I see," replied Tuula as she finished her scan. "Well, you appear to be in good health. I'll have to take a samples and send it to the lab for analysis," she said, putting away her tricorder and reaching for a hypospray, "but you should have your full medical clearance within 24 hours or so."

"Well...I can still report in and that sort, right?" Aria asked with surprise. She had never really known for it to take that long, not with her record. "Is...everything looking okay?"

"Of course," replied Tuula. "Everything is fine, we just need a small sample for some routine tests and to update your medical file."

Allyndra looked at the PaDD with the file on hand. "You have not had an update in your DNA on file. Let's get a sample. I think Doctor that we can go ahead and sign her off for duty pending results."

"Excellent," replied Tuula as she pressed her thumbprint onto the PADD before turning back to her patient. "Now, you aren't by any chance afraid of hyposprays, are you?"

"No," Aria said and frowned. "I am not afraid of them."

"Good," replied Tuula as she pressed the hypo against Aria's arm, taking a sample. "I have to ask, just in case, you know." She took the sample out of the hypospray and placed it on the tray. "Well, unless you have any other concerns, I think we're done here. That was relatively painless, no?"

"Sure, relatively...all is relative, though. Are we comparing it to stabbing a knife in my hand, or a rock on the foot or bad period cramps?" Aria asked, smiling weakly as she rubbed her arm.

Allyndra glanced at the chronometer on the wall and sighed. It was time to go for the away mission. "Well, welcome aboard Aria and your in good hands with Tuula here."

"Tuula," Allyndra used first names as was her wont to do in her sickbay at least when she was on duty. "I have to get ready for the away mission. So I leave sickbay in your capable hands. Hopefully nothing major on your first full day."

"Thank you, Allyndra." Tuula smiled up at her colleague. "I'm sure it will be nothing I can't handle. Oh, and Ms. Rice, you're free to go."
