Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo - Passageways
Timeline: MD 06 - 1025 hrs

ON:

Lt. Rhodes and Lt. Rice just left the Armory and went their separate ways. They would be meeting up in the Transporter Room shortly.

Aria was correct that, it would be best for WO Mormont to be on the bridge while the away mission was taking place.

As Rhodes walked down the passageway to his quarters, he tapped his comm badge, =^=Lieutenant Rhodes to Warrant Officer Mormont.=^=

In his own bed, Mormont opened his eyes slowly, groaned with sheer annoyance before swallowing. When he spoke, his voice was a bit more neutral, although tired. =^=Yes Sir?=^=

=^=I realize that you may not have been to sleep for very long, but I need you on the bridge in 20 minutes.=^= The security chief tried to make it a request as best it could, but it still came out an order.

=^=Yes Sir=^= Mormont said and closed the channel. For about 20 seconds he lay there, looking up into the ceiling...before pushing himself up. He stripped, walking to wash himself with cold water. It would wake him up. He shaved and got a clean uniform on, combing his hair before looking around. Ten minutes left. He replicated himself a double espresso, knocking it back before heading out.

It was a quick journey to the bridge and he forced himself to smile. A smile helped. It helped a lot. Even if inside he felt tired and perhaps a little bit grumpy, he pushed it aside to be...well, his usual charming self. He walked onto the bridge, spotting his Chief. "Sir," he walked over to him, meeting his eyes. And with two minutes to spare.

Recognizing the voice, Theron checked the time then swiveled in his chair to the left and looked at Mormont, "You are most punctual Mr. Mormont."

"Sometimes," he said and nodded, taking a breath as he looked around. "I am assuming you want me to take on bridge duty right now?" It was the only reason he could see for Rhodes to want him to report here at this time.

"That is correct." Rhodes replied and stood up. The Commander is leading an away mission and has Lt. Rice and myself as part of that away team." He looked at the Staff Warrant Officer seriously, "You may be the key to everyone being able to come back."

He watched Rhodes before nodding weakly. "Yes Sir..." He couldn't hide that he was disappointed for not being part of the away team, but understood the necessity of him being here. "I'll keep things clear here."

"I know you will." Theron said encouragingly. I have to go. I have two minutes to be in the Transporter Room."

"Best of luck, Sir," Amon said and gave a curt nod, watching the other man closely. He did question both the Chief and Assistant Chief going down together, but that was not his call.

"And to you." Theron replied and returned the nod of affirmation. He then stepped away toward the turbolift.

Mormont frowned as he moved to his post, frowning as he touched the console. Until Rhodes returned, he would do his best to keep the ship and the crew safe.
