Tykhin rubbed the last bit of sleep from his eyes and stepped out of the turbolift onto Deck 4. He sipped coffee from the mug in his hand nodded to a passing crewman. He did not see any Borg drones at the moment and was glad of it. Having them on the ship was like some kind of surreal nightmare.

He stepped through the doors into Sickbay and he tensed noticeably. After the day before, he thought he would never like this place. He thought of Lt. Cameron and the two ensigns, then pushed them out of his mind. There would be time for grief later.

One of the passing nurses eyed the man with coffee mug in his hand and asked, "Can I help you Lieutenant?"

"I'm supposed to report to the CMO. Could you point me in the right direction?" Tykhin asked.

"Oh? Normally I would ask you come back. She works gamma shift. I know a little odd but then again with everything going on we all have not been keeping regular hours. Let me check."

The nurse walked away and tapped on the console, pausing for a few moments and then tapping quickly before coming back.

"Your in luck, she is just finishing up in the Medical Lab, if you would be so goo as to follow me I will show you the way." The nurse turned and walked briskly to the back of sickbay and then out another door and then turned left down a short hallway.

The door opened at the nurses presence, "Doctor a Lieutenant here to see you."

Allyndra looked up from her notes and then nodded, "Very good." She got up to meet the Lieutenant she could see standing behind the nurse and realized she did not know him. "Yes, Lieutenant come on in. Thank you nurse."

Tykhin smiled a tired thanks to the nurse and moved aside to let her leave. He stepped into the lab, shifted his coffee mug to his left hand and held his right out to the doctor.

"You must be Dr. Warraquim. I'm Tykhin Vess, one of Venture's intelligence officers. I just came down from talking with Lt. Markos, and it looks like I'll be her assistant once you clear me," Tykhin added with as charming a smile and a faint emphasis. He spoke easily and naturally, and shifted from one topic to the next without leaving the mind much room to linger. He glanced past the doctor as he spoke. "Working on anything interesting?" he asked.

Allyndra winched as he used her Guild name as a surname. It was a common mistake. "Allyndra please. Warraquim is my Guild house affiliation. Anyway," she quickly moved on while standing to take the hand. "Pleased and just reviewing some of the data from the de-assimilation of the Captain. I am sorry what happened to the Venture."

She realized she was rambling on and indicated a biobed. "If you do not mind, we can finish your medical check in here."

"I'm sorry, too, and about your people," Tykhin said and moved to the biobed and sat down. "I think your team already worked on me, I woke up on a biobed before the attack and was told they fixed up some fractured ribs," he said while Allyndra began her scan. "The rest is just bangs and bruises."

Bangs, bruises, and chronic fatigue and stress that long predated whatever happened on the Venture, Allyndra could see as she checked Tykhin over.

"I can agree with that assessment but from what I see here, there are elevations in your hormonal activity associated with lack of sleep and stress. Unfortunately, I think that must describe most of the people now left trying to get the ship back up and running properly. You ribs are healing nicely but I would admonish you to watch taking any more blows there for a bit. Promise me to keep up on your fluid intake and try to get a good rest and I will sign you off, agreed?"

"I promise," Tykhin agreed readily. He even sounded sincere.

"So intel officer any intel you can share yet?"

"I wish I knew more," he admitted. "I've got one of the Chiefs in Operations working on breaking the Borg's communication protocols, but haven't heard anything yet. And I think I have one other lead on getting information out of the Borg, but it's... Unorthodox. And I don't know how to bring it to Lt. Markos."

Allyndra was impressed. It was a route that had slipped by her. She had been all focused on fighting the Borg and what made them such that the idea of control and protocols had not even occurred. She nodded, "Very interesting aspect. I hope your idea works, have you talked to Commander Blake?"

"Not about that, she has enough to do. If we get results, Ops can bring it to her then. I did talk with Captain Saalm, though," he said and raised a hand to forestall objections. "I know, I really do. But I needed to know if she was aware and conscious of Borg communications before you worked on her. If she was, the others might be.... and we might have another route into their networks."

Allyndra's eyebrows went up at that revelation. She was about to say something but he held off her response but it made sense as she listened.
"I see, well while I would be hard as a doctor not to say she should not be pushed but then again the situation is demanding isn't it?"

"It is, and all I had Crewman Siren do was ask if Captain Saalm was able to understand anything from the Borg. I did not want to trouble her about details," Tykhin assured her. He considered the doctor for a moment. "What would your opinion be of attempting a telepathic link to one of the crew you have here who are not yet de-assimilated?"

Allyndra bit her lip. "I would consider it dangerous for both parties. From what I know telepathic links are two way and while one is trying to access the Borg link they have access to the individual as well. I am not sure what would happen. A fully assimilated individual could be cut off by the Borg, basically terminated, one that has been filled with probes but not actually modified......perhaps the Borg could not terminate the person."

Tykhin considered that. "Sounds like a command decision," he said after a moment. "Would you mind putting your assessment in writing and sending it to me? I'll run it by Lt. Markos," he said with a sigh.

Allyndra nodded in the affirmative, "I would be happy to. Now then, as I mentioned I am going to sign you off for your medical but try to get some rest some place and if anything comes up let me know." She then signed the PADD and waved Lieutenant Vess off.

"Yes, doctor," Tykhin said with a smile.
