Luke couldn't remember much between the Venture and getting to this point, he had spent most of it either unconscious or being thrown around a room. Instinctively the first things that ran through his mind was where was he? and where was the rest of his detachment form the Venture? Sitting up gingerly he palmed his head rubbing it in a circular motion it hurt like hell. The next thing he could feel was the slight throbbing pain in his left arm. His senses slowly regained themselves and so he lifted back his sleeve to see that it had been severely burned, though some of it had been regenerated but it seemed the procedure had been stopped midway.

Slowly pulling the sleeve back down to hid the somewhat melted skin and nylon fabric he proceeded to stand, at first he toppled under his own weight and unbalance but after a second and third attempt he managed to regain himself. Looking around he could see far more bodies than this sickbay should handle, people ran around franticly giving medical attention where needed. Luke almost felt as if he was the least injured person in the room.

Moving around he shook his head in disbelief, this was defiantly not the Venture even though at least a third of the personnel he recognised was indeed from his ship. Across the room he could see engineer's and other walks of life apply medical aid to the sick and injured. In one instance he saw what most have only been friend covering up another with a silvery blood stained blanket as he passed into another life, Luke knew all to well how that feeling felt.

He managed to glimpse someone who seemed less busy than the rest even if that meant she probably wasn't. Luke walked over and tapped the woman on the shoulder or at least where he guessed her shoulder would be as it was covered with long black hair with blue streaks running wildly through it. He guessed on a good day they ran in straight lines and looked rather decorous "Excuse me?" His voice was hoarse as if he hadn't had a drink of water for days.

The triage was busy, terribly busy and it seemed one crises to the next. Allyndra's face and front of her smock were still stained with droplets from staunching wounds. The cases all seemed to fall into blunt trauma's, burns, cuts and several variations of each. This was field work almost back to the most ancient times, just doing whatever it took to push dark death to side. He was a constant companion here along with his attendants of pain and fear but for everyone he managed to snatch, her staff and help had won more battles than he.

A tap on her shoulder and Allyndra turned pushing away the errant hair with a besmeared glove. "Yes?" She asked looking at the man that had come up to her; her eyes already looking at the possible injuries.

"What happened? What ship is this?" He understood that it probably wasn't the most pressing concern but he had to know the fate of the venture had it survived the onslaught of the Borg cubes? "What happened to the Venture?" Coughing he steadied himself on the side with his burn hand.

Allyndra made an odd blink. This man must have been unconscious or be suffering a mild amnesia not to know. She spied a place to sit and urged him to sit with her.

"The stardrive of the Venture was attacked. That ship is gone, we are the Galileo that the Venture was escorting. Do you remember that?" She asked genuingly concerned.

Luke sat without needing to be told twice. He took a moment to gather his thoughts before returning the answer "Destroyed? We didn't stand a chance" he muttered, "I don't remember - ah wait the Galileo" the memory seemed distant but it was there. Luke rubbed his head with his burnt arm but quickly hiding it away.

Allyndra had noted the burn, but while it needed attention she was more concerned with possible head injury. The Marine seemed to be having some difficulties. She turned and got the handheld scanner to examine him.

"That's correct, Sergeant, the Galileo." She replied as she started the scan.
Her initial scan did not reveal any trauma to the head but his electrolytes were off along with dehydration and that would also explain the problems in cognition.

"Wait here a moment," Allyndra said quietly remembering to stay calm in the face of things. She went to fetch a pouch of liquid electrolyte replacement and then returned. She opened it and handed. "Here drink this. You are dehydrated and low on potassium. Now let's take a look at that burn shall we?"

Luke sipped the electrolyte fluid, it actually didn't taste to bad. "It doesn't hurt as much as it looks, though it does remind me of something from a horror novel I once read" He continued to sip the drink "How did you escape the Borg anyway?"

"The Borg seem to have somewhat withdrawn at the moment. Now then, hold still please. This will just take a moment to plaster and I am going to give you an analgesic. I am sorry normally I would put you straight into sickbay for tissue regeneration but resources are stretched thin."

"If I had it my way I would have you not waste any on me but I figure you wouldn't allow that" He picked a spot on the wall and concentrated on it whilst she set herself to work.

Allyndra pushed back a few strands and then looked at the work. It would have to do and she realized she had not introduced herself. "Sorry Sergeant, I am losing my manners. Allyndra illm Warraquim, the ship's chief doctor." She held out a silm fingered hand.

"Ah so I had the honours of having medical attention from the chief herself gratitude." He took the doctors hand and shook it "May I simply call you Doctor?" He asked trying to pronounce the name in his head but coming up short at each attempt.

"That works along with a tap on the shoulder." Allyndra smiled. "Now you finish that up and check into sickbay in a couple of days. Hopefully we can then get that burn properly taken care of. Other than that and being dehydrated with a little electrolyte loss your in remarkably good shape."

"Thankyou very much Doc!" He said finishing there and then with his drink with a smile "Next couple of days" He repeated.

"I will take that as a marine promise," Allyndra looked hard but the smile that played around her lips softened the request.

Luke drew an imaginary cross above his heart with his index finger before curling his lips and smiling, "You have my very word Doc!"

"Good, now get some rest and then we can get you checked out and checked in for duty."
