ON:

Tarishiana had been a little busier then she had been instructed. As long as Nurse Nikawa didn't find out about it then no harm no foul. The thought brought a smile to her lips as she approached the door to her quarters. Home she thought happily as the door parted. She was amazed at how exactly the same they were. She walked though almost in amazement. "Eight months...it has been eight months...." She said as her voice got progressively louder.

"And my dirty under ware is still in the same place." responded Markum as he came out from the bedroom donning a freshly replicated uniform. On the large glass table was an assortment of fruit and legumes and a pitcher of Markum's homemade sweet tea and a bouquet of freshly picked flowers. "All of that is from the Arboretum. We have quite a selection now."

He walked over and wrapped his arms around Tarish. *Welcome home.

Taking a deep breath she sighed into him. "It is wonderful being home..." A wave of relief washed over her. I wasn't sure you... You would want me to come home. . "I would have understood... I disappeared with only a few subspace massages..." She shook her head against his chest not wanting to finish the thought.

"Stop." he said as he ran his fingers through her long hair. "It's only home because you are here. My home is where ever you are."

Tarishiana let out a little laugh. "That is exactly what I told the Captain when I talked to her earlier about you. " She pushed back slightly looking up at Markum. "I shouldn't have done that...Mother always said I needed to think before I speak."

Markum wrinkled his forehead. "You spoke to the Skipper? Tarish, I love fleet life, hell at my age it's about the only thing I do know as a life style. But...if you asked me, I would give it all up. I will do whatever is best for our family."

"I talked to the Captain about a few things." She paused for a moment. "One of them being my new position with the Science department as a Science Corps Technician."

"Technician?" Quinn looked intrigued. "But, that's a civilian position I thought?"

"I retired my commission." Tarishiana said simply. "About three months ago...I took a position with the Science Corp so that I could stay with you." She touched his face softly with her hands. "Starfleet was a means to an end for me, a way for me to escape a life I didn't want. Because of Starfleet I found you. I would never ask you to give up the fleet when it means more to you then it did to me."

Markum hugged Tarish and then kissed her deeply. "Thank-you. Sincerely."

You don't have to thank me...Tarishiana thought happily. "If you aren't busy you should sit with me for a bit...my feet are killing me and I have missed you."

Markum scooped up Tarish into his arms and walked her over to the sofa and sat her down softly, then sat next to her and removed her shoes and began rubbing her feet. "So, how about some names?"

Tarishiana let out a sigh as Markum began the attention on her feet. It never felt that good when I did that... She thought before she laughed at his question. "Well, Mark...um....I have no idea." She finished honestly.

"Well...if a girl we could name her after your mother?" he replied with a devlish grin.

"No..." Tarishiana replied a little faster then she should have. "I was thinking maybe Tyra...for a girl...after your father?" She was a little nervous about the suggestion. She loved Markum and he was the sweetest man she had ever met, but she wasn't sure if he would shoot it down.

"Tyra?" repeated Markum. "Tyra....I...I love it!" he almost yelled out with excitement.

Tarishiana couldn't stop the questioning look on her face. Markum amazed her. He was enthusiastic about everything. She looked at him a long while before she realized how much time had passed. "You really are ok with me being back aren't you?"

Quinn gave a quizzical look with a wrinkled forehead. "Of course. Why...why wouldn't I be? Willis may not since he can no longer sneak into our quarters and steal my beer...but I am ecstatic. These quarters are just an empty piece of bulkhead without you here....much like I am without you."

"I missed you...so much." Tarishiana replied softly. "I told Lestian that I was about two days away from hijacking his shuttle and flying around until I found the Galileo." She laughed and pulled her foot back quickly as the spot Markum was rubbing tickled. "My feet have gotten so tickleish since I got pregnant." She smiled. "So what time are you off shift today? I was thinking we could have dinner. Unless you have something better to do."

"Hmm. Well, that depends. Are you limited on the type of....activities, that you can participate in?" he asked with a grin. "because if not, then dinner can wait and let's have desert first."

"The Doctor said no horse back riding, trampolines, or skydiving." A devious grin cross the Betazoids lips and she leaned forward towards Markum. "Other then that I just need to get plenty of sleep and fluids." She toyed with the collar of his uniform. "I thought you had to get back to work?"

"I know the Chief of the Boat pretty well. He may ride my ass, but I'm sure he'll cut me some slack." Quinn picked up his Imzadi and carried her off to their room for some much needed and over due personal time.
