Another Mess

180 words; about a 1 minute read

I am beginning to think that my parents were right. About a lot of things, not that I was a rebel who thought they were always wrong, but especially right about the wisdom of joining Starfleet, or more accurately the lack of wisdom in doing so.

Once more into the breech we go. Once more we've relied on out technology and the growing militarism inside the fleet And where has that gotten us? I'll tell you where its gotten us. Our vaunted technology has come back and bit us in the ass.

We are Universe knows where, and the ship is barely functioning. Life support is minimum and the chances of our survival are slim.

I'm not afraid of death. Not really. I will simply cease to exist and I guess that I'm okay with that, but what about all the others? What about all the needles deaths.

What is our wonderful leadership doing, well I guess, if I were honest, I'd have to say everything they can. The question is, will that be good enough.

I just don't know.
