Personal log for Amynta Markos. Currently, I am trying to figure out just how many we have lost to the Borg. The Venture's destruction has landed in my path an Intelligence Officer who, frankly, has to be the most contrary Betazoid I have ever met for the wrong reasons. Rather than being brutally honest yet soft, he appear to battle this by projecting himself as emotionless as a Vulcan.

I am not going to waste time figuring him out.

After our Captain's...turn, I have let Siren debrief her. Their bond will help in what is a delicate extraction of information. I don't want to anger anyone upstairs after all. I have gone through all of our information about the Borg, right back to when the USS Enterprise first encountered them thanks to the entity known as Q. It has left me feeling positively headachy. And annoyed. They are acting out of character.

A first contact team has been sent and I was surprised I am not on it. However, let us all be honest, I am the least suited individual for such a task. My idea of diplomacy tends to include a phaser set to heavy stun.

I don't believe in fear. I make a point of avoiding the emotion as frequently as possible, but I must confess I feel worried. About all of this. We should not be alive and most certainly not given the nature of this ship.

Well. That should cover this update. Computer, end log.
