Lamar Darius' Personal Log, Stardate 66915.7

We've been on Vega for almost a week now, and there's been a lot of changes since my last log. I'm not longer the COB, the captain decided to reassign our chief former engineer, Quinn, to that position. I guess he's been having problems using his new arm and requested a transfer to the command department. I don't mind, really. I mean, I understand where the guy is coming from...he's been serving in the fleet a lot longer than me and its got to be hard to adapt to a robo-arm. I tip my cap to the man, he saved us all by going into the nacelle during that attack. That's the stuff heroes are made of.

The good part about all this is that I've been promoted. And reassigned to flight ops under Lieutenant Mialin. I finally completed my support craft qualification exams last week and now I get the chance to actually make some use of it. Should be pretty fun and I can't wait to get behind the controls of our Waverider. The official design specs say it can hit speeds up to Mach 13 in the atmosphere, so I'm definitely going to have to get some simulator time on it first.

Aside from that, everything's been good. I'm getting a bit bored of Vega Colony so I might try to return to Earth for a few days and visit my family in Philadelphia. I haven't seen them in a few years and we're pretty close to Sol, so this would be a good time to drop in unannounced. Surprise, ma! *chuckles, clears throat*

I wanted to bring Lilou with me, to meet my fam, but she's been a bit busy lately. Because Chief Quinn was reassigned, she has now been promoted and taken over engineering. Needless to say, she's been busy as hell lately. Along with all the new admin work, she's also been working with the fleet's technicians to repair the damage from the Sienna device and overhauling the reactor. I'm not supposed to talk about it too much but from what I hear, there are some possible long term effects that the higher ups in Starfleet are trying to figure out.

Anyway, that's all I can think of for now. I'll check back in a few days and report in after I've been back to Philly.

Computer, end log.
