Captain's Log, Stardate 94380

"Galileo now faces a new and unexpected challenge in the aftermath of our battle: to conserve as much power as possible following the ejection of our warp core which was used to escape a Romulan artificial quantum singularity drive implosion. With our primary source of energy generation gone, we have only the impulse reactor to rely upon for all of our operational needs. Unfortunately, it produces less than 25-percent of our full capacity which means we'll shortly be engaging Orange alert and running in reduced power mode for the foreseeable future. I've tasked Ensign Sera with determining the necessary systems and sections of the ship to shut down...and the coming days will become even more challenging.

"Aboard Galileo-B, Lieutenant Vala believes he's made a breakthrough in his investigation of the historical temporal timeline. Against all odds, it appears he's identified a second source of Cold Station 31's data logs which managed to persist following our deletion of the information from the computer core. If what he says is true, this duplicate copy originates from the cold station then follows Galileo-A back to Regula I. If this is really the case then it can mean only one thing: someone aboard the cold station who returned back to Galileo then arrived at Regula I, is responsible for this leak. My initial suspicions are either Doctors Quil or Mulder but I wouldn't be doing due diligence to rule out any of my own crew, as unpleasant a thought as that is. I've given Vala permission to continue his investigation with the help of the Security department. But time is short and they'll need to move quickly to show results.

"While we await these findings, I've ordered Commander Blake to conduct a full tactical review of our previous engagement. We now have sufficient combat data in our computer logs to finally analyze and prepare for these new threats we face here in the 25th century. Will it be enough to survive another battle? Likely not. However, any edge we can gain to prepare ourselves becomes invaluable. Time isn't on our side - it won't be long before the Romulan scout vessel which escaped reports our position then returns with reinforcements. I can only hope Admiral Saalm will return us home before that occurs.

"Computer, end log."
