Captain's Log, Stardate 69348.8

"The intermittent tachyon particles Galileo was tracking were emanating from a cloaked Ferengi marauder. D'Kora-class, specifically. We managed to isolate the vessel's position and force them to decloak -- but were met with hostile force from the ship's DaiMon, a man named Nok. He and his crew, we've learned, are Ferengi 'privateers' who reject the Grand Nagus' policies. Pirates in every sense of the word.

"The diplomatic dialogue between Nok and I was short. Somehow, he managed to steal a cloaking device from the Klingons and engage in a prospecting mission a hundred light years from Ferenginar and arrive near Cold Station 31's approximate location. This...is obviously not a coincidence. His motives seem profit-driven which fits the profile. But then he engaged Galileo in combat to attempt to capture our ship and crew. I suspect there's more to his story.

"We were outclassed by his heavy cruiser during the engagement. Our warp drive capability was targeted during the initial assault and our ship was temporarily disabled. Nok's forces beamed aboard then attempted to capture Galileo and its crew -- I assume as a prize to return to the highest bidder. Hand-to-hand battles were fought on all decks, including the bridge. I was captured by the Ferengi before the fight finished, but in the time I was there with them, I witnessed the crew act with resolve and fortitude. They held their positions. I'm...proud of them.

"The compliments of my crew can't be qualified without explaining the appearance of the Klingons. A D8 battlecruiser, IKS Praxis, was apparently shadowing Nok's marauder. They intervened to protect Galileo and persecute the Ferengi. I wasn't conscious for the second battle but our combined forces disabled Nok's starship. He and his crew are being 'processed' by the Klingons. Which brings me to my next entry and my time aboard their ship.

"End log."
