Preemptive Revenge

Posted on 29 Nov 2021 @ 5:55pm by Lieutenant JG Sofie Ullswater

401 words; about a 2 minute read

"Good morning computer! Could you please begin recording a personal log?"

Affirmative chirping

"Thank you computer."

Sofie Ullswater, Personal Log. We have arrived at the most wondrous monstrosity that is called Regula I. Why it is called this I do not yet know but in time we shall learn these things. It is my intention to spend this time we have upon this nominally solid ground doing most nothing in particular. In fact I do so much wish not to do things of great import that I have enshrined no tasks for the first day here as obligations. It is with a heavy heart though that I must inform you that the next day of our stay will not be quite so empty. In fact two of my most esteemed colleagues have already secured me for engagements.

Firstly is Lieutenant Aria Rice, terror that she is, who has invited me to partake in the ancient earthen culture of brunch. Now one may be wondering what the nature of brunch is and do not fear I shall duly inform you: Brunch is the most marvellous combination of breakfast and lunch other than this there appear to be no firm rules. I will of course partake in this most sacred ritual for the good of our friendship and in order to maintain peace within our shared quarters.

The second engagement is something that is being called a beach party. In this case the name is most self explanatory. It will consist of an excursion to a beach at which a party shall be held. As a geologist I have a certain penchant for the geological properties of such land forms however since this one is merely a holographic projection I doubt there will be anything of great interest to be found there.

Once again, dear reader, this is Sofie Ullswater, a small look into her incredible life.

"Computer, please end this recording."

Sofie feel about herself laughing. One of these days she was going to get murdered or something and some poor sod would have to sit through all her stupid personal logs. In this case she would be dead but this would be her revenge on a world that let her die.

And of course even if that didn't end up happening she would have fun reading them back in the years to come.
