Mission: Episode 03 - Frontier
Location: USS Galileo Deck 4 - Sickbay
Timeline: MD -1 1120 HRS

ON:

Cyrus went to grab his medication checking how much was left.

And found two capules left.

He cursed loudly. He didn't think he would have went through the medication so quickly. It was a sleeping aide, and he didn't want to let Pola know that he had used up the same supply she gave him before he was expected to, well...that he expected himself too.

He gave it some thought and realized that the last week had been particularly stressful. He was suffering from severe insomnia and the nights he did sleep without the pills were plagued with night terrors that woke him up twice or three times a night, causing him to feel more tired than if he would have only gone without sleep.

Part of him was ashamed he used the sleeping aid as a crutch the last few days, but he needed the sleep, he knew that he would be sleeping better now all the stress of what happened in the last few days was gone. He felt better than he had been, but Cyrus didn't enjoy leaving anything to chance. It only made sense to fill in his medications so he could use them if he needed them.

Something he was going to stop using before the end of this mission. He promised himself.

He put on his uniform and made his way to sickbay. The door opened without a problem, instead of Pola it was the other doctor...he searched for her name. Jessica...Jessica what? Ensign Wilson?" He guessed at the young woman. "Chief Warrant Officer Kiwosk, I think I called down earlier for a prescription refill. "

Jessica glanced up as the door opened and noted the warrant officer entering the room, wearing security gold she didn't recognize him by visiual but the name rang a bell as Pola's consort, for lack of a better term. She smiled her welcoming smile.

"Of course," Jessica smiled. "Please, Take a seat whilst I check your medical record."

"Take your time Doc, I'm not overly busy. " He folded a pair of massive arms and rolled his shoulders, smiling. "You seem to be adjusting well. When did you come aboard?"

"Only a few days ago," Jessica replied, somewhat wary of security officers after her last unfortunate encounter, as she picked up a Padd and confirmed that all was on the level.

Cyrus nodded. "I understand that, I'm pretty new myself. I only joined as as Galileo...'arrived' on the planet. " He chuckled. "The ship looked like hell to put it lightly." He chuckled. "The medication isn't too bad, it's a sleeping aide to deal with some nightmares. " He set the bottle on the table beside him. "I asked Doctor Ni Dhuinn to lower the dosage, but the recent stress level I had from Shore Leave, I know pretty odd sentence right," He chuckled slightly. "Anyways, I realized I ended up taking the medication' as required' instead of 'as needed' which caused me to use it up. " He knew that sounded slightly odd, even to him.

"The nightmares are stress induced. I had a pretty bad stretch a couple months ago, it should be in the file. " He explained honestly. "I'm hoping to return to how I was using them before. "

"That is the best way to go," Jessica agreed as she accessed the prescriptions on the PADD and filling in the paperwork. "Have you been seeing a counsellor?"

"I have, with Counsellor Blake, but given what's happened recently, between the...incident...here in Sickbay, and the raid SFI conducted on our ship. It's bringing back...less fond memories." He shuddered. "I was hoping to schedule another meeting with a....Counsellor...Meridian?" He wasn't sure if he said her name right or not. He never got the hand of Parisian names, which was funny due to his expertise with Lieutenant Panne.

"Good, Good," Jessica nodded as she continued to fill in the paperwork.

"Seen a lot of the ship? Or have you been stuck in Sickbay for most your time on like the good Doctor?" He asked.

"Mostly stuck in sickbay, only really seen whats between here, my quarters and the officer's mess," Jessica replied. "Should probably go for a wander sometime."

Cyrus nodded. "It'd do you some good. She's a nice ship. This your first assignment?" He asked as he leaned against on of the beds.

"Yea, doing my internship here," Jessica replied, surprised at how well she was holding a conversation, especially with a security officer. "Not sure what will happen when that is finished in a year, I guess it depends how the CMO thinks I've done."

"Well you keep up the good work and you'll get that LTJG pip in no time. You seem to know your stuff. And if the other day is an indicator...you can certainly keep your cool in stressful situations.. " He smiled. "Seriously though, when you get a chance you should really take a look around, get to know some of the crew, take the holodeck for a spin. It'll take the edge off."

Jessica smiled, appreciating the encouragement, especially from an experienced chief warrant officer. She quickly double checked over the paperwork before nodding.

"I'll do my best," She smiled again. "Alright, looks like everything is in order, I've repeated your prescription I'll grab one of the nurses to issue you it."

Cyrus smiled. "Much obliged Ensign. " He pushed himself into a fully standing position and rolled his shoulder unconsciously "I'll be back if I need more, but it won't be for another month or two."

"Let us know if you need anything, we're here to help," Jessica smiled.

"Right back at you Doctor. " Cyrus gave a friendly farewell before turning to find the first nurse he could.

Jessica smiled as the warrant officer left to get his prescription filled out by one of the doctors. She then sighed to herself, not able to miss the contrast between him, Stone and the mess that the CMO had thrown her into the previous day. She shook her head and got back on with her work.
