ON:

Cyrus wanted to die.

His head pounded with the fury of one hundred angry Klingons, and as he tried to open his eyes to only bright lights and pain.

"I am never drinking again." He groaned, lying to himself all the while. He rolled over in his bed to land loudly on the floor, smashing his head against the side of the bed. He grunted in pain, and stifled a scream.

Struggling to get to his feet, he instantly felt the massive hangover of his drinking with Pola the night before.

Pola, even in his state, he couldn't help but smile at the amazing night they had had.

His reflecting was cut short by a loud rumble. Hunger and headaches never went well with Cyrus. He stripped from his bed clothes and stepped into the sonic shower. He let the shower scour his skin clean before stumbling over to his dresser to grab a fresh uniform and walking out of the room into the brightly lit hallway.

He was suddenly aware of the lights that shone evilly into his face. Squinting, he somehow discovered the route to the turbolift and made for the mess hall.

Evelyn was drinking her black coffee, sitting in one f the Mess Hall's smaller table. Her eyes reviewed the Data PADD of the latest intelligence reports along the Federation boarder when her ears picked up a faint groan. She turned her head towards the door and a smiled formed on her lips.

"I'm going to kill whoever decided that 'luminescent white' was the best colour to put on a starship..." He groaned and pressed his fingers to the bridge of his nose in an attempt to relieve pressure. "Do you mind?"

"Feel free." she gestured to the empty seat in front of her. Evelyn's eyes looked him over, "So, had a little too many beers huh?"

He chuckled, but it only agitated his headache, so it ended more as a groan. "Beer, whiskey, rum, maybe even a gin somewhere...waaaay to much." He tried to look at the El-Aurian with little success. He thought about his date with the Doctor and smiled. "Was worth it though."

He replicated a coffee and sipped gingerly. "Don't really care for this bit of the after-party though...much rather the drinking bit."

Evelyn chuckled, reaching into her pocket and pulled out a small container, "Here..." She said twisting the lid off and pulling a clear pill out. She handed it to him, "chew this."

Cyrus fumbled with the small pill. "Chew it?" He asked skeptically. "Well, I'm not one to say no to random drugs." He popped the pill in his mouth and bit into it. After a second his face twisted in disgust, his mouth puckering and his eyes slammed tight showing crows feet.

"Damn Eve, It feels like I'm sucking as the ass end of a warpcore!" He coughed and almost spit the remnants of the pill out before taking a large swallow.

Smirking, Evelyn twist the cap back on, "Now in a minute, the throbbing pain will fade, and you'll feel more alert."

"Somehow I don't you ass-pill is going to make this thing go..." He stopped in mid grump to realize that his head was in fact less foggy than before. The throbbing was still there, but it was bareable whereas he was surprised he had even gotten out of bed the first time. "What is that stuff?" He asked, completely bewildered.

"Consider it a hangover cure." She smiled, "Now you may feel an echo of the throbbing pain for a few minutes but it should fade eventually. What it does is calm the receptors of the brain dealing with addiction and relaxes it, thus no more withdraw pain."

"Hmmm." He shrugged. "Well I'm not to complain, I should get me some more of those." He chuckled and shook his head. The headache nothing more than a bad memory. "Well, now that's done with. How are you? First day of Shore Leave, feels more like extended vacation for me, I haven't really done much." He sighed and took a swig of his coffee.

Evelyn smiled, "I'm sure you'll get busy. I actually have plans in a few hours, I'm catching a transport to the Terran System. Has some personal matters to attend to."

Kiwosk raised an eyebrow. "Oh?" he wasn't sure what to say, if it was bad or good. "I hope all goes well." He replied simply, unsure what else to say.

"I have an appointment with the counselor later on today, can't say I'm exactly stoked."

"Well I don't have any magic tricks for that..." she chuckled, "I will say good luck though. And just blame your mother. That is usually the road they always take anyway. If not your mom, it's your father."

Cyrus laughed. "Good idea. It'll have to be my brother though, he got me into Starfleet." He sipped his coffee slowly. The pain nothing more than a bad memory. "Where the hell did you get those things anyways? They are amazing!"

"El-Aurian secret." She winked chuckling.

He shook his head. "Figured." He couldn't help but chuckled however, it was generous of her to help him out after his binge the day earlier.
"Got a feel for the new crew?" He sighed. "I'm not really the gossip type, but I always like to know who the people are to look out for besides the Captain and the X O."

"So far the newbies seem fine to me. Unfortunately I don't have any suspicious ones just yet, but I promise to keep you posted." Evelyn smiled as she finished her coffee. "Well, I have to get going, and I'm sure you have plans too."

Cyrus nodded, dreading the meeting with the Blake. "Yeah..." He mumbled. "It was good talking to you again Eve, I owe you one! " He got up and set his coffee mug in the disposal. "See you around!." He smiled and gave her his typical two fingered salute before walking out of the mess hall.
