The whole assembly was laid out before him. Tris wiped the dampness off the intakes, a monotonous job but someone had to do it. Since he wasn't flying he had been tasked with many menial jobs. The Andorian pilot just tried to see it as a way to better understand how all then systems worked. But, it was still monotonous.

Watching from afar, Vansen narrowed his eyes slightly. For a moment he looked indecisive. He was done with his work. But seeing the shuttle, banged up in need of repairs, and being here...he let out a breath and grabbed the piece of cloth he wore around his neck, pushing it up to get his hair from his face. He was out of headbands and his hair had reached that stage where he was close to grab the scissors himself to be able to deal with it. But couldn't be helped. He walked over and tapped the side of the shuttle, smiling. "Need a hand, Sir?" he asked him, his blue eyes studying the other man.

The Andorian glanced up to see a strong looking human with brown hair. “A good helping hand is always welcome.” He then held up a handful of injection rods. “If you have the time, these could use some attention.”

Vansen gave a nod and walked over, taking them. He studied them for a moment before he bit his lip. "Patching her up on a wing and a prayer then?" he asked, because what he held in his hand was hardly brand new. So. Spare parts were...sparse. It was his favourite sort of fixing. The sort he was brought up on, making it work.

Tris considered the words used, not sure if they were kind or intended to be satirical. The Andorian simply replied, “Maybe so, maybe so. All I know for sure is that these injection rods have to be wiped down if I want this small part to work. It’s all the small parts that make . . the magic really happen.”

Vansen gave a nod before he smiled, his hands moving to the side. "I can check the injection rod. Should also check the fittings around it, if there's any gaps you won't be able to do anything as it melts the rods."

“Excellent idea,” Tris replied.

The repairs continued throughout the morning. The team was meticulous during the cleaning process and reinstallation of the different systems.
