Dirty Business

Mission: Episode 17 - Crystal of Life
Location: USS Galileo-A - Arboretum
Timeline: MD -100, 1200 hrs

Marisa chose to wear a black jumpsuit to check the trees in the arboretum. It was an authorized alternative to the standard uniform and it made it easier to climb into some of the trees to have a good look at the foliage. Her team kept a close eye on the plants and trees to prevent disease, but she liked taking an old-fashioned look herself from time to time. It also gave her a legitimate reason to climb a tree.

When she'd checked the upper branches she called down to her companion. "This one looks good."

Below her at the bottom of the tree Luke leaned casually against the trunk, dressed in his security jumpsuit he was almost a mirror image of the woman above him. “I'll mark it off the list” he called up lifting the Padd he held in his right hand and tapping it so it turned green like the other before it. “Need help coming down?”

"I shouldn't, but feel free to catch me if I fall," she teased. She climbed down to a lower branch and swung down to land beside Luke. Since there was no one around them, she took the opportunity to give him a quick kiss. "I appreciate your help, and your company."

"It's ok, I haven't got much to do with my department reports all in" Luke replied the warmth of her lips still on his. "At least we're almost where we need to be, might get a bit busy for me." The past five months for Luke had been very uneventful, at least in the job role of course though he had Marissa to keep him busy.

"That's what I'm expecting." She slipped her arm through his as they walked to the next group of trees. "Once we get to our destination, we'll both be inundated with work. I want to take advantage of the time we have now."

They came to the next tree, which was smaller than the last one but in a thicker grouping. "This one will be a little trickier. There are more runners to deal with." She looked at the trees, then at Luke. "Think you could support me on your shoulders while I reach in for some samples?"

Luke nodded silently as he positioned himself to support her weight. "Come on then, up you go." he said finally offering her a hand as he knelt down allowing Marissa to use his leg as a step. He didn't doubt that he could support her weight.

With his permission, she carefully stepped on his thigh and then his shoulder. "Hold on to my legs and help me balance," she asked as she carefully stood on both shoulders. When she was stable--with Luke's help--she held on to a branch for balance and leaned in to collect some samples from the center of the tree. With one hand, she slipped some leaves into her pouch, then reached in for some leaves from another part of the tree. "One more and I'll be done," she said.

She had to lean carefully against a branch to get some leaves that looked off. If there was any sort of disease taking hold, that would be a good place to start. She had to stretch to reach the leaves, but she grabbed a few, looked at them, and put them in her bag. Hopefully, it would only be a hydration problem that was easily resolved.

"Now the fun part," she said, smiling down at Luke. "To get down."

Luke laughed, as he slowly stepped back from the tree and began turning slowly at first before speeding up chuckling. "Getting dizzy now I might drop you." Not really having planned the motion out in his head he soon found himself on top of Marissa in the soft mud of the floor laughing.

She knew they were heading for disaster when Luke started spinning, but the ground in this part of the arboretum was soft enough. And it was funny. When she could control her laughter, she kissed him. "As punishment for dropping us both, you're going to have to help me get clean." She really wasn't that bad off, but she was taking advantage of the opportunity. Then again, he wasn't nearly as dirty as she was, so, she adroitly rolled over, taking Luke with her so that now he was as dirty as she was.

Luke didn't try to fight back to hard knowing that he could probably win and allowed her to roll him in the dirt in a fit of laughter. "Great now we both need a shower. I'm sure when we said we should keep it professional rolling around in the mud was not the plan." He said smiling up at Marissa who was on top of him.

"I didn't want to be the only one." She was having very unprofessional thoughts about Luke, but she chose discretion and rolled off, still laughing. "Besides, all's fair..."

"Alls fair" Luke repeated heaving himself into a sitting position before standing up. Turning Luke held out his arm "Come on, let's go get cleared up before people get the wrong impression" He said winking a mischievous look about him.

"Ooh, how can I resist such an invitation?" she teased, taking his arm. "The question is, your place or mine?"

Thinking for a moment before speaking out loud. "Let us go to my place for a change, we always spend a lot more time in yours than mine," Luke said walking and guiding her to his quarters.

"You have a lot to answer for." She grinned. "You've made this science officer very happy."

It didn't take long for the two of them to be standing inside Luke Quarters, "Right then, here we are. Home sweet home" He said his arms splaying around showing it off. On the walls were several photos of Luke and his family, including Abbey. There was also a few weapons and plants. "Bigger than necessary for one person but you know."

"I do." Most of the time they were on the holodeck or somewhere else as it kept them away from work, but she had been to his quarters at least once before. Before they really started dating, though.

He nodded "Well showers through there and ill replicate you some new clothes" Luke began stripping before stopping halfway, "Are you going to join me or just stop and stare?" He teased.

"I'll join you, I was just enjoying the view," she teased back. She quickly stripped out of her clothes and padded over to the shower to join him.

"You know, I could get used to this," she said, grabbing a sponge. "We seem to spend a lot of time in the water." Most of the time it was swimming or checking fish traps, but water was water.

She soaped herself off. Then, grinning impishly, she began to soap Luke. That quickly turned into foreplay and ended with both of them in Luke's bed.

Fortunately, Luke's Open Door Policy didn't cause anyone to walk in on them.
