Previously...

Luke looked and nodded "it seems to have been able to hold" Luke pulled Marisa down so she was laying next to him. "I have a feeling this trip of ours isn't going to be as productive in the camping field as I though" He teased kissing her.

For a long moment, Marisa kissed him back. "It depends on what you consider productive," she teased. "We made it to--and into--the river."

And Now...

[ON]

"Well I guess that's everything then" He retorted kissing her again this time nipping at the lower lip playfully, his free hand that wasn't squashed by his body weight as he laid on his side resting on her hip.

"I hope it's not everything," she teased. "I brought marshmallows." She loved a good campfire. She trailed her fingers down his side, wondering if he was ticklish. She'd have to test that theory at some point.

"Well let's go chill out by the fire, the trap works for itself so maybe before nightfall, we'll have something." He said pushing himself of the floor before offering a hand to her. "I brought a little something to celebrate our third date... not that I'm counting" Luke joked.

Marisa grinned as she took his hand. "A fire sounds perfect right now." She brushed off her socks and put on her wet boots. If all went well her boots and cloths would dry out by morning.

Luke hadn't undressed so with his sodden shoes and clothes they began the walk back to their campsite. Re-ntering their clearance Luke moved to his bag inside the tent and presented three things Marshmallows, Skewers and a bottle of wine. "Desert and drink before dinner" He suggested sitting down on a log he dragged across from the edge off their clearing.

"One thing first," she said. She put her boots by the fire, then stripped off her flannel shirt and jeans, draping them on a convenient rock to dry.

She went into the tent and came back dressed in a dry shirt and pants to drape her wet t-shirt by her other clothes. She brought two chocolate bars and a package of graham crackers. "Now, let's have dessert."

"And I didn't think you could get sexier, you really rock the whole camping look," Luke said as he prepared the marshmallows on the wooden skewers, sitting on his log he handed one two Marisa.

His words made her blush all the way down to her toes. She didn't think of herself as sexy. Taking the skewer gave her a chance to compose herself. "Then we should go camping more often." She stuck the marshmallow into the fire until it began to burn, then blew it out and put it on a graham cracker. She added a square of chocolate and another cracker to make a proper s'more. "This is the best way to eat marshmallows," she stated. "Have you tried them?"

Luke shook his head, "I actually just eat them straight of the skewer.... Kind barbaric after the artwork you just did" Luke said already eating his melted marshmallow and making a mental note to try her way next.

"I'll make you one," Marisa promised. She ate hers, then prepared another one with a brown marshmallow and held it out for Luke. "Try this."

Luke dipped his head forward eating the s'more right out of her hand. "That's something," He said between chews acting all childish as he did the stickiness of the marshmallow complementing the cracker. "How have I never tried this!"

"I found out about it when I moved to the Americas," she said. "That's also where I learned to camp." She handed him another cracker and square of chocolate, then stuck a marshmallow on her skewer and watched it catch fire. She blew it out and then carefully peeled the marshmallow off the stick and ate it. "I also acquired a taste for burnt marshmallows."

"I like melted marshmallows but burnt ones... I'm not sure we can be friends" He teased eating another sugary treat. "Shall we break out the drink?" he asked reaching into the tent again to reveal a bottle of wine.

"Definitely. Wine and s'mores sounds perfect." While Luke took care of the wine, Marisa put another log on the fire. Then she grabbed two apples from her pack and handed one to Luke. "To balance the chocolate."

"Really Apples?" He said teasing taking one, "You know have you ever tried chocolate dipped apples? Now that's what I call balancing" Luke popped the apple into his lap produced two metallic camping mugs and opened the bottle of wine pouring some of the contents into each mug. Setting his down in front of him he passed the other to Marisa.

"Chocolate-dipped?" She had to think of that. "No. Caramel, yes, but not chocolate. I just like apples." She took the mug and sat down next to Luke. "This place is amazing. Thank you."

Luke shrugged "Well we found it together, and its not like I pre-programed this specific area. We could have stumbled upon anything" He admitted though knowing anywhere as remotely nice as this with her was going to be amazing.

"And, since Patagonia has a varied topography, we should come here again, just to see where we end up," she said, giving him a quick kiss. She glanced up at the sky. "If we're going to have fish for dinner, we should go check the trap."

"Yeah sure, my stomach is growling for some barbecued fish" He said standing up and dusting off his hands on his trousers. "Ladies first" Luke said gesturing with his right hand for her to take the lead out of their camp.

Marisa nodded. She followed the trail down to the water's edge, admiring the way the shadows played with the vegetation.

Luke stopped short, moving to one side to allow Marisa space along the river's edge, he knelt to his knee's and checked their trap. "Success, Four nice sized salmon!" he exclaimed happily.

"Great. We can cook two for tonight and bake the other two for breakfast." She looked at the sky. "Which might be a good idea. Those cloud formations could mean rain tonight." She enjoyed a good thunderstorm, even when camping.

Looking to the sky and back to Marisa he agreed with a singular nod "I agree, you can feel the change in the wind." he finished up with the fish hoisting them out and putting them into the wicker basket he had made earlier. "Come on were done here lets get back before the weather gets bad."

"Okay." She would have preferred to clean the fish at the river so she could throw the entrails into the water, but she could toss them into the fire.

When they got back to the camp, Marisa took two of the fish and prepared them. "I'll prepare these two to slow cook in the ashes while you prepare the other two for tonight."

She found two large leaves that would work well and placed the fish in the center. Then she added a couple of herbs she found along the trail and wrapped them up. "These should be ready to eat by morning, even if it rains." And if it rained hard enough to soak them, they'd have other things to worry about besides the fish.

"Wow looks like you don't even need me here at all, maybe I'll go sleep in my own warm comfortable bed." Luke teased knowing there was no way he'd want to waste any time he had with Marisa. Luke felt a cold sharp prick hit his neck and he recoiled "Looks like that rain is coming sooner than we thought" And with that one sentence the heavens opened up.

Marisa couldn't help laughing as she buried the fire and the two fish for later. "Looks like we'll be eating whatever we brought with us tonight." She slicked back her wet hair back and grinned. "And try to get dry." She really didn't mind getting wet--as long as it wasn't freezing cold.

She hurried into the tent with Luke and stripped off her wet shoes and pants. Then she pulled a hand towel out of her pack and began to dry off her arms and legs.

Following behind Marisa he let out a slow playful whistle, "I should have planned this trip months ago and maybe with more rain" Luke said half zipping up the tents door, the second skin to the tent overlapped creating a sort of lean too at the entrance so the rain couldn't get in.

Marisa pushed her wet hair out of her face and laughed. "I do love a good rain storm."

Before Luke could answer the tent lit up in a blinding flash quickly followed by a deafening crash of thunder and lightning "It seems the weather thanks you" He chuckled pulling off his wet shirt before looking for the other towel.

Marisa couldn't help appreciating how he looked before remembering that her jeans and other shirt were outside getting soaked. She dropped the towel and ran outside to grab her wet clothes and bring them in.

Fortunately, the wind had died down for now and the rain wasn't blowing into the tent as she ran back inside. "Okay, that was probably a foolish gesture, but old habits die hard." She wrung them out as best she could outside the tent and hung them over a tent pole. Then she picked up the damp towel and dried herself off again. When she was done, she mopped up the water on the tent floor, laughing at her bout of OCD.

Luke had changed completely in the time Marissa had gone about her things, he had even hung his wet clothes next to hers creating a washing line. "Finished cleaning the entire campsite?" He laughed pulling her to him and kissing her. It felt amazing how natural being with her felt.

Marisa chuckled softly. Kissing Luke was far more satisfying than responding to his question. In fact, it was perfect. She was camping in primitive Patagonia in a thunderstorm with Luke.

"Speechless eh?" He teased rolling Marisa onto her back his arms either side of her as he stared down at her graceful face. Her eyes the perfect shade of green, deep and mysterious. "Gods you're beautiful," he said in a low raspy breath.

"You have that effect on me," she replied. She met his gaze, not hiding how she felt about him as she tenderly caressed his cheek. "You're a very special man, and I..." Her throat tightened and words failed her, so she slid her fingers through his hair and pulled his head down to kiss him again.

When the kiss ended she looked up at Luke again. "Words don't say enough."

It was his turn to be left speechless as they stared passionately into each other's eyes. Finally, Luke found his words and said, "Then let's find something that does say enough." As the words left his lips he felt his body react to her nearness and the promise in his words. He leaned forward to kiss her again, his hand gliding across her hip.

Her response to his touch was instantaneous. As the storm raged outside, a very different storm was going on inside the tent and Marisa abandoned herself to it.

The next morning, the storm had passed, but everything outside the tent was wet. "You know," Marisa said, running her hand along Luke's side. "I think this is going to go down as my favorite camping trip ever."
