"Darn it..." Amynta Markos grimaced as she entered sickbay and stopped, looking down at the distinct ladder in her stockings. Her own fault, for rushing. She brushed her uniform down, frowning as she straightened. Skirt uniform, blond hair free...she was off duty after all. She smiled weakly as she touched a nurse's arm. "I am here to see Doctor Dhuinn," she said, her voice gentle.

"In her office," the nurse smiled warmly back to her, nodding as she motioned to the CMO's office.

"Thank you," Amynta said and moved through, ringing the chime as she looked around. Her makeup had been done immaculately. She had needed to look and feel good for the medical. Somehow, she had never been a fan but she understood how important it was. To do this. To make sure she was well enough to do her job and serve the Federation.

Reading through a medical report in her hand, Pola was frowning as she tried to figure out what was happening with one of her patients. He'd presented with abdominal pain and headaches but they'd ruled out all of the usual culprits. Science had even been brought in to see if they could help identify what might be causing this. Letting out a small sigh, stretching her arms behind her head as she realised her shoulders had started to seize. "Enter."

Amynta walked in and watched the woman for a long moment before smiling weakly. "Bad time, doctor?" she asked lightly. "If it is, I can go to a nurse."

Smiling as she brought her arms back down, Pola moved her hand to rub her shoulder. "Of course not, please come in. You picked the right time if anything, I needed a break from all these reports. What can I do for you?"

"I'm Amynta Markos...I have a medical scheduled," she said and shrugged, holding the woman's eyes. "I suppose it is one of those proper check ups we need now and then."

Smiling, Pola moved to her feet as she gathered her tricorder from the desk. "Well we don't poke and prod, this will be pretty painless. I understand people can be anxious visiting here so how about we see how quickly we can get through this for you?"

"I do not mind," Amynta said as she let out a breath. "I am hardly frightened of sickbay."

Leading the way, Pola indicated towards a biobed as she grabbed a PADD and started to access the patient's file. "Hum...I should mention. I prefer Pola, in here if I'm meant to be your Doctor, I find that being on friendly terms helps us both connect more easily."

Amynta watched her for a long moment before giving a small smile. "If you ask me, I can easily call you Pola," she said, sitting onto the biobed. She studied the woman, her body language...the words had been interesting, given her an insight into her. Friendly terms. Indicated trust, as if Pola wished for people to trust her not just as a doctor but as a person. Was she perhaps lonely? Or was the trust something she needed to feel satisfied with her job?

"So tell me about you Am-en-ta...did I pronounce that right?" Pola looked up as she rested her hip against the biobed behind her. "Your medical record is very sparse so maybe you can help me fill in the blanks?"

"Of course," she said and stydied her for a moment. "And my parents pronounced it A-mynt-ah..." she said and rolled her eyes. "To be honest, I don't mind how people say it. I recognise it easily enough."

Without looking up, Pola wondered if the avoidance of the question about medical history was actually done on purpose. The Doctor had experience of patients who had avoidance issues because of dislike of sickbay or even distrust in the medical profession. "Which one do you prefer and we can go with that?"

"A-mynt-ah," she said and looked at her, giving a small smile. "I am healthy, doctor. Rarely have any medical complaints that aren't on file."

Scanning through the medical history in question, Pola found her finger hoovering over one part in particular. "I believe you're medicated for migraines? How are you finding that your coping with them at the moment?"

"I am better in space than on a planet," she confessed as she smiled gently, studying the other woman for a long moment. "The medication works well."

"Your history looks pretty good otherwise so...anything currently bothering you which you wished to discuss?" Moving aside the PADD, Pola picked up the tricorder as she began her scans on the woman sitting infront of her.

"No ma'am," she said as she looked at her, studying her for a moment. "Pola. Sorry. Need to get used to it."

"I have to ask...is there something that your hiding? For an intelligence officer you have an extremely clear record. I would have expected some broken bones, alot of rehealing from injuries..." Pola looked up from her tricorder and started to study the woman infront of her.

"I am afraid I have been mostly ship based...I am not an operative," she said and gave a small smile. "Don't get many broken bones sitting there going through information, Pola."

"Lots of paper cuts though." Smiling softly, Pola put aside her tricorder to replace the object with a PADD, starting to updating the officer's medical file.

She chuckled as she watched her, nodding. "Although I wish we were that primitive. Copying files from a padd is easy from a distance...taking it off paper isn't."

"Hum....I'm sure if we look close enough, we would find something dangerous involved with that." With a smile, Pola finished updating the notes before pressing her thumb against the PADD display. "Ok...that you good to go Amynta."

"Thank you," she smiled as she stood, her eyes warm as she offered her hand. "I hope we will bump into each other more often, Pola..."

Taking the outstretched hand, Pola smiled gently as she easily returned the smile. "A ship this size, I wouldn't doubt it. I guess welcome onboard of sorts."

"Thank you," she said as she nodded, holding her eyes with warmth. "And for the check up."

Pola mimicked a salute as she stepped back with a smile, her hand already moving to reread the PADD to ensure that she had updated the officers records correctly.
