Marika plopped in front of the ambassador with a huge smile, her food tray making an odd click as it hit the table. “Hi! I’m Marika. I work in one of those hidden labs where they attempt to forget we exist.” Her face seemed to indicate it was a joke, but her eyes held just the right amount of sadness to make you believe it might be true. “You’re the new ambassador right? I guess if they asked you to join us we’re expected to do more diplomatic missions which can be nice I’m sure, especially if you can get us some nice new people with lots of ruins and old tales to explore! That would be awesome! So what’s your name?” She stared intently at the man, smiling, her eyes curious.

Caymen was mid-sip of a coffee. The noise of the tray and the chatter that followed was more of a rush than the caffeine. "Hello," he said, setting down his cup. He had a padd lying there to take in the morning news from the Federation, but he had finished catching up a few moments prior. "I'm Caymen," he said stolidly to her question."

"A pleasure!" Her tone did indeed make it seem like it was. "I heard all sorts of things about Ambassadorial types. It'll be fun to see if the rumors are true. In any case, it should be fun to get to know you weather those rumors are true or not, although I'd say I almost wish they are because then we get to have even more fun!" She grinned.

Greener nodded and gave a slight smile. "One can hope we solve our problems with words rather than torpedoes. And insodoing we get to explore the cultures and histories of new friends rather than blow them up." He was exaggerating, and he had blown up many a ships and people in his Starfleet days. But if he could help prevent further loss of life, that would be a good message for his return to duty.

She nodded exaggeratedly a few times. "Friendly cooperation and tons of stories to learn is the way I like it although ecplosions can be very rpetty but only when they are scheduled and no one gets hurt because then it's no fun and people cry and crying is sad and I much prefer fireworks anyways." She nodded some more.

"Anything fun?" Pointing at the FNN PADD she took a mouthful of the yogurt and fruit mix she had with her, pushing her faux-bacon aside.

"Not particularly," said Caymen with a sigh. "Discussions on the negotiations on one of the Romulan colony worlds I participated in a few months ago are still ongoing. I can't seem to escape that event, even if we did the best we could."

"Ooooo, espionnage and back door deals, or standard fare, I give you this you give me that?"

"Oh, Klingons and Romulans fighting again," said the diplomat. "But citizens and the news will find whatever they can to slap up good news articles."

"Makes sense. It's their job. That and I'm sure it's more fun than reading obituaries... although I always found those interesting when painted in the right light." She stared at the thin air for a few moments, as if conjuring up a memory. "So why robes?"
